The Beginning.

QuoteAsteriinyx. A land of vast wealth, home to many of The Aether's most important Aethlings in existence. Stretching across hundreds of miles, with sprawling cities and towns, magnificent castles looming over their kingdom, and towering mountains, sparkling as Solina sets behind them. The land, once a mesmerising sight, has had its beauty robbed.

The Weeping Ones, human-like creatures, grey skin, eyes as black as the depths of earth itself. Fangs as sharp as glass and as wicked as a backstabber's sword, these creatures hunt down any foe who crosses their paths, and Dulls them. Dulling is an unusual enchantment, no creature but the ones who have dabbled in the worst of the Arts have even the slightest ability to use this terrible power. It dulls a creature's senses completely, no sight, no sound, no taste, touch, even hearing. All those senses whisked away at the touch of a Weeping One. And these monsters are on their way to Asteriinyx, snarling at the thought of Dulling so many Aethlings, joyous at the idea of taking over the land of Asteriinyx.

The Three Courts, set in the corners of Asteriinyx, giant towers of coloured rock are each dedicated to one Aether deity. These Courts control four of the major cities in Asteriinyx, without them, the country would be gone. But, the Courts have sworn not to interact with one another, since a false accusation was made against one of these Courts in a Grand Trial hundreds of years ago. The result was that...the Court was destroyed, completely. That Court was once the fifth, but now, no longer exists. To prevent this ever happening again, the Three Courts seldom talk to each other, and this has stayed like this for a few centuries now. But because of the new danger and fear of their world being Dulled, the Courts must finally begin to talk to each other, or risk having Asteriinyx destroyed.

Quote from An Urgent Message to the Courts of Asteriinyx.
It has been a while, centuries- since the Courts have last spoken. And I know that many of you wish for this to continue, but alas, it cannot. Asteriinyx is in danger. The- my hands tremble as I even think these words, these are terrible times, terrible times, you must know-...the Weeping Ones are attempting to invade. They plan to Dull the land. None of you want this, I presume, which is why I've taken up the duty to resolve this matter, before it's too late. I beg you to discuss this with your fellow members of your Courts, and I advise that we end this silence with each other once and for all. Courts, I ask but one thing of you. Discuss this with your members, if you are willing to participate- which I hope you will- send me a letter promptly, with the details of the Aethlings you're willing to send to help embark on this mission. I ask only this.

Good luck Courts...

Member of Court of Mistress Selyne

─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ───

Upon the announcement, the girl made her way to the Grand Hall. Still quite new to the building, she looked in awe at the looming statues and the majestic paintings adorning the marble walls. While everyone seemed disturbed by the news, Carlynne acted indifferent to it, her usual grin plastered on her face as she floated to closely examine an interesting artwork. While the Court master hasn't brought up the topic yet, she got news of what was going on with the whispering rumors among the members. Then again, it wasn't as if she herself didn't have a copy of the alarming letter.

Gracefully lowering to the ground, she decided to chit-chat with the other members standing around. While her presence did manage to lift their dark moods, there was still hate lingering in the air surrounding a particular sentence in the letter.

"I beg you to discuss this with your fellow members of your Courts, and I advise that we end this silence with each other once and for all."

She didn't get why they would hate it. In fact, her heart fluttered with the idea of finally meeting the other Courts and she immediately and happily agreed to the request. Sure, the damage in the past couldn't be undone, but were they any better like this? With every negative comment on the matter, she only sighed, knowing she can't fix that issue.

Flora heard the announcement, and she was unsure how to react to it. Another crisis, another area of her life to calculate and recalculate, to figure out, to worry about, to somehow discover what to do...

Oh no oh no no no no no no no no no! Her eyes grew wide with utter horror.

She wouldn’t be against talking to members of the other Courts. But! She didn’t know them. They could be dangerous.

There was probably good reason behind why the Courts had ceased communication. Then again…

What if it was the only thing that could be done? And what might others think of her, if she did try to communicate with those of the other Courts? Maybe she could find a rational way to go about it… reason with her superiors. Subtly nudge them in the right direction.

This might be all they could do not to all get themselves killed…

Eris heard the massage she didn't really want to talk to others much less members of other courts. While Eris may have been surrounded by other members of her court she never had the chance to talk to any of them, and she was happy like that. Instead, she was always quiet and cold towards others. Her goal was to receive the sun's blessing, she would then be able to practice Light-Weaving. Part of her was tempted to talk to others, that would be a small amount of progress to stop the Weeping One's but she couldn't risk getting attached and losing someone. Then again she could lose the rest of her family if she didn't take the initiative. "It could be nice to meet members of other courts." she thought, maybe she'd finally make some friends. She paced around the Grand Hall hoping someone would walk up to her so they could engage in a conversation. She found it embarrassing to walk up and talk to others, so far she got no "hello's" no "How are you's" or anything like that, she was content with that result and kept giving people icy glares.

As always, it was with ceremony that Niyol swept into The Grand Hall, his cloak of feathers fluttering behind him as he strode through the crowd with purpose. He cut out a jagged silhouette against the temple like hall, black cloth repelling the grace of their Goddess. His heels clicked against the shimmering floor almost mockingly, his arrogance knowing no bounds as the soft steps sneered at those who's magic grounded them and announcing his presence. Immediately it was as if a hush fell over the gathered, a complete opposite to the reaction that Carlynne had brought with her, dampening the atmosphere once again. It was almost suffocating how one person's mere presence could weigh, Niyol's delicate features a chilling dichotomy to the evil that lay underneath the rotting bronze tanned skin. Eyes averted from his elegant frame, not daring to even glance in his direction as they parted like a wave before him, the soft trail of his clothing against others eliciting a disgusted shiver. There was an air of unapproachable arrogance that he carried with him as Niyol took up point by one of the statues, sharp hooded eyes sweeping over the gathered court members as if prying out of their insignificant minds their deepest sins. He held their gaze for a brief bone chilling second before the piercing stare shifted towards the wall and stayed there. Slowly the murmurs bubbled up again, occasional darting glances sent towards the gloomy corner. Even if anyone was new to the court, everyone knew to avoid Niyol

࿐ ࿔*:・゚✧˖*°࿐

Atsa was getting stronger and soon it would be time
Every time Niyol went back to the family estate to hurl insults he could never mean and step on soft hands he watched his little brother hate him more and more, watched him fly at him in a rage, watched him fly. One day he would soar and he would find his notes written in the clouds and a brother who would hold him like glass and treat him like gold. But until that day came, he would continue to play the villain as his family so desired. But today's villain didn't appear to be him this time, but instead a evil that held its roots even deeper than his family's lust for power and prestige. Niyol knew the rumors, knew that his court members gazed at him with suspicion in their eyes and theories on their tongues. He welcomed them, gathering them up close like a precious treasure and holding it close to his broken chest. He hoped that the council members would accept and send him as in their suicide mission, letting him explore the world and change it for the better before he would be disposed of. He didn't have very high expectations for that though, the Council tended to be stubborn like that.

When Freja entered the Grand Hall, it was almost like a darkness followed her wherever she stepped. She was careful not to draw attention to herself, but whispers and murmurs trailed behind her like a ripple through the crowd. She knew by now to simply ignore them, but the presence of Niyol made her grit her teeth in an attempt to stay calm. He was the kind of person she knew to stay away from, but she couldn't help but feel so greatly annoyed when he swept through the room, his arrogance almost insulting as she watched. She backed away, blending into the crowd, never casting her eyes downwards or acting nervous or afraid, but always carrying an air of invisibility. People only payed attention to her because of the rumors, and she would shoot a harsh glare to anyone who tried to approach her. Despite the message and the grave warning of what would happen if they didn't work together, Freja was not the least bit eager to make any friends, especially not with Aethlings of other courts. It was foolish to attempt to get along, and with so many different people in the room, Freja had difficulty trusting any of this would work.

Her eyes flitted around the room, picking out possible threats and studying individual faces. She was tense, her steely gaze able to freeze anyone in their tracks, but she was careful not to make eye contact with anyone. She didn't trust this one bit, and she was very unwilling to even talk to anyone else until someone trustworthy made a decision. If it was up to her, she would let things stay the way they are and see what happens, but she did not have the power to make a decision, so she stayed quiet, observing with a watchful eye and trying to fade into the shadows.

ˋ⋆ L a d y ˋ⋆ ⋆ˊ S u f f o l k ⋆ˊ

Priya Suffolk had always known she'd come to this place one day. The idea had lurked in her mind ever since she understood the order of life. One day- one day, she would be important enough to come to the court that her mothers had come to. One day, a true lady of Lady Solina would take this step.

She had expected much, yes. Beautiful. Intricate. Ancient. That feeling that you were intruding on a history not your own, a thousand steps into a past thousands of years beyond you.

But she never expected it to feel quite like this.

A quiet thrum ebbed in her chest.A sun had started there, and burned stronger with each tolling of the overhead bells. It was quite like magic, searing hot and full of tingles- but not in the sense of the unknown. In the sense that this was where she'd always been meant to be.

Lady Suffolk slipped her hand off the rail and started up the quartz steps, observing the intricacies of the world around her. Amber windows, where a sun of their own seemed to stream out into the outside, casting a lit glow onto the most vibrant flowers she'd ever seen. Pale, towering pillars soaring up above, pinning intricately carved rooves into shapes she could only describe as 'wild'. And not even to discuss the building, which intended on impressing all who laid eyes on it.

This beauty could truly only be one of a Grand Hall. Natural Magic poured from it, from Aesthlings long passed, and now become its own little world.

Priya paused on the steps.Goodness, this place is beautiful.

A warm breeze drifted down from the treetops. Priya had reached the end of the stairs. She accepted the greeter’s words with a polite nod and slipped inside the Grand Hall.

She slipped a hand into the skirt of her dress. She clutched the letter which had called her here.

The Weeping Ones… the only creatures with which the courts were threatened.

The trembling of her hand had scrunched it. She supposed she ought to pull it out and smooth it, but the idea of seeing those words again…

Could even Lady Solina’s Grand Hall be threatened? Could all this beauty be cast into darkness with the threat that now availed them?

to be aesthetic or not to be aesthetic that is not a question because I am not aesthetic at all and nor is this signature

Aliban dreaded this day, the day he and the other courts would gather at a wonderful and beautiful place called the Grand Hall and discuss a threat to their land. He hated being around others he hardly knew, especially those from different courts. Walking into the building was like being hit with a flashbang, the light burning his eyes and the general aura of this place nearly blasting him away. He took a moment to collect himself before he grumbled and continued onward. His body was tense and seemed to try and take up the minimum amount of space as he walked, clearly showing his discomfort. His dark clothing made him stand out among the brightness of the Grand Hall, making his discomfort worse. He just wanted to hide and get this over with, but in this environment that was highly unlikely. He noticed others walking around him, presumably others from their respective courts, and his eyes landed on someone familiar, Freja. He didn't exactly want to interact anyone, not even a member from his own court, but based on what he saw it was nice to know he wasn't alone in the way he felt about this. Who thought it was a good idea to bring together the courts who hadn't even talked in centuries, and ask them to come up with a way to protect the land in such a short amount of time? He honestly thought the whole ordeal was stupid, he just wanted to go home and keep his worries to himself.

His footsteps begun to get quicker as his urge to leave grew stronger, knowing that now he was here and there was no turning back. Getting this done quickly was the best thing he could do, right? He didn't even bother to look around anymore and instead kept his eyes glued to the floor, ignoring the things around him.

Yvonne Paelina.

After writing the letter.

She took a deep breath, closing her emerald eyes, wishing that the Courts would take up her offer. A letter would be needed to be sent to her Court, to confirm that someone would help her...help Asteriinyx. She winced, thinking of what would happen if no one listened to her, imagined her home, destroyed. All the Aethlings, dulled. She couldn't bear it.

Yvonne crossed her fingers and prayed, to all the Aether deities out there, that someone would answer her call, assist her in the saving of Asteriinyx.

Present Day.

It was time. Time to see who answered her call, time to see who would save Asteriinyx. Would many come, or would no one turn up? Butterflies danced in her stomach. Yvonne winced.

The doors of Solina's Court swung open, beckoning to all to enter.

Enter, save the land.

Yvonne took a deep breath, and walked out of the door.

"Welcome. It's time to save our land."

"Welcome. It's time to save our land."

Glancing up to see who had dared say such fight inducing words, Niyol's face twisted into an almost contentious sneer as he watched Lady Yvonne stride through the ostentatious doors, the instigator of this whole somber affair. She cut out an almost holy figure amongst the divided crowd, each court sticking with their kin. He wondered what a woman of her standing would gain from this, rocking the pre-established balance for what, the greater good? Who would be selfless enough to offer themselves up to fight the weeping ones, throwing away their own good social standing for what amounted as a suicide mission? Everyone was much too selfish even entertain doing such a thing. (You would, a voice that sounded suspiciously like his brother mocked)

Still, Niyol was raised to be noble above all and bowed to Lady Yvonne as the woman who had done the impossible and brought three courts together without shedding blood. While he certainly didn't believe that her plans would work, he could at least show her the respect she had earned from him. Though, he realized belatedly as he rose from his bow to see eyes burrowing into him, his bow might have come off as condescending or mocking.
"Lady Paelina, what a pleasure," He drawled out, not helping his courteous image one bit. "I don't suppose that you're willing to share your master plan to unite us all?"

"every breath, a prayer in the wind"
Member of Court of Mistress Selyne

─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ───

While she was busy talking, well trying to talk, with the members of the other courts, the soft voice that rang through the hallway cut the awkward conversation she was having. She stared in awe at the person before her with huge admiration, clearly expressed through her twinkling emerald eyes. It wasn't surprising that she was from the court of Lady Solina as she emitted a radiant and bright energy to Carlynne, not to mention her elegance and beauty. What made her like this person, though, was that she even managed to bring the Courts together peacefully, a dream Carylenne wanted to achieve ever since she joined the Court but never had the power to do.

She descended slowly from the air and landed on the marble floors, not making a single sound, the long ends of her white cloak subtly grazing the tiles, as she gave a slight bow as a sign of utmost respect.

"It is a great honor to assist in saving our land," she said, her excited voice giving off the sound of tinkling wind chimes. Unlike Niyol, she didn't mind throwing herself into danger, she was keener to experience things she's never been through before, no matter how scary or life-threatening it gets. Who knows, maybe she can get to see them again...

After staying on the ground for a minute or so, Carlynne lifted herself up and hovered above the floor again. She loved the feeling of defying gravity and tries to keep herself off the ground most of the time. It was also an attempt to try and awaken her flying ability, which she hasn't mastered for years. She waited eagerly for Lady Paelina to share her plans, bobbing up and down a little while she floated in the air.
