Hogwarts rise of the Dark Lord
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Hogwarts rise of the Dark LordHarper was exited as she enjoyed wizard duels she didn't enoy asking poeple to duels but being part of ne exited her. She was also worried as her sister wasn't eactly the best at duels. She hoped the school year would start to become normal soon.
"Not when there's still things to be done." He murmured. From his place in the room, he could already hear some of the students whisper their misgivings about learning how to duel. He couldn't help but agree. Dueling was archaic and usually was a big hit with the Gryfindors what with their shows of bravery through duels. Jules held no love for the sport as it never seemed fun or productive. Sure he could practice his spells but what use did he have for that when he would stow his wand away for good? Still, it had been Professor Sprout's message for him to make sure people behaved so work he would to assuage the worries of the rightfully scared student body.
Emika stretched her arms above her head as she completed another round of dueling. Her training and self study had worked wonders for her magic dueling. She was excellent at dodging thanks to previous... skirmishes before learning about magic. She just needed to better memorize spells and their motions. She made her way back among the other students now that her duel was finished, ready to observe and take notes on techniques the other students used.
Sterling still didn't get the point of people fighting others.
Emika was in the library, her dear Emerald coiled around her feet, somehow unseen by the other occupants of the room. She was reading up on Patronuses, alongside dueling techniques and rules, though she merely glanced at the rules. In school the main rule was no maiming or killing other students, while the real world had nothing of the sort, since the only reason for a duel would be to defeat/draw blood/kill the opponent. She knew this well. Many in the 'muggle' world had tried to defeat her one-on-one but failed every time. It was no different in the magic world.
Dragging his feet past the library, Jules honestly looked like some dementor if one ignored the gold detailing on his robes. His already pale complexion looked sallow, burying himself in old texts and ancient accounts in an effort to link the recent killing with any past calling cards. Even with makeup that seemed to find a permanent residence on his face when before it had been used sparingly, the whole situation was at the very least stressful for the Head Boy. As one of the better Charms students, he had taken to tutoring many of the first years in dueling and defensive spells. It was honestly a job he had never considered and actually experiencing it only solidified the idea that he wasn't cut out to be a teacher. He just, didn't like the reminder that how he first learned magic.
So instead, he distanced himself. He dug into archives and threw his weight around to access records that were only accessible to people with a feared name could only attain. It never felt good to use his family name like that but people expected a villain. He had pretended to be worse before, he could play the bad guy for a bit if it meant getting what he needed. But so far his search had yielded nothing. Sure there was plenty of new charms that he learned and was itching to try out but nothing in terms of any dark lord mention. It was frustrating at best but still he slipped into the library and wandered over to his usual desk, hidden away near the forbidden section and surrounded by tomes and papers of all kinds.
He knew that his reasons were slightly selfish, but he was terrified of the prophecy. He would do anything to put an end to all of this. He jumped when he heard Faith, whirling around. "What the-Oh, hey Faith. Nothing. I'm doing nothing." After a second, he stuffed the paper in his pocket.
