Strength in numbers?” She suggested, grinning and waddling from boot to boot. Honestly, she had no idea why Al might be wanting to withdraw, but she wasn’t thinking about it at all. Not out of dislike of Alaparos, just out of, well, empty-brain-ness.
"I would gladly get hurt by your magic until you manage to get a better hold of it,that is a sacrifice I'm willing to make to ensure our success. I'm sure everyone has numerous secrets and I know for a fact that we're not going to just outright reveal every single one of them right this instance,no?" Not even he knew he would go to such lengths to ensure that Alaparos would stay. Yet,he was more surprised by Oneiros' lack of actions. Hokori assumed he would try harder than everyone else to convince Alaparos to stay.
"...And, while I'm not saying you need to do it now," Eyre started, she also mumbled under her breath "I'd be a hypocrite if I said so," and quickly shook her head. "It's just that...well...sometimes secrets are better left said than to stir in your mind. It certainly gets rid of the anxiety that comes with keeping your secrets...secret, at least. Whether it's just to those you're close to or the whole world." She neglected to tell the fact that some secrets do put you more at risk if word got around to the wrong people, but if they all stuck together, it would be fine.
The raven opened his beak to say something, but closed it moments after. He wrapped himself in his arms and looked away, eyes tracing the edges of blades of grass while emotions ran through his expression. His tail feathers were twitching.
One thing made him pause from giving in however. Ever since the conversation started, Alaparos had only heard Onerio speak once and due to a certain serpantfolk still swaying threateningly over him, he couldn't exactly see the crow. "And what say you, Onerio? I assume you had a reason for calling me aside from being a Votum alumni." He finally spoke, voice almost a bit fondly exasperated.
Finch wasn’t wise, but she definitely just noticed him change the topic of the sentence. Her grin faltered for a moment before returning, waddling now slightly faster from foot to foot.
He turned his body back around, his gaze becoming apathetic and lighthearted again. “That isn’t the only reason, though. I think it’s wise to trust me, I dunno.” He hummed into the air, ruffling his feather-hair under his hat and then planting it squarely back onto his head.
Derek, though, grew suddenly wary of all the commotion, as did Tabbethuh and Gerrin. The ashen fox had leapt down from Alapros' lap quite hurriedly, bounding over to cower behind one of Derek's feet whilst the brute raised his massive blade once more. Tabbethuh bristled, her fur shuddered as she shook off a thick dusting of snow.
"When do we start? Is there any sort of trick to defeat those mad with power?" he addressed Oneiros.
Finch didn’t dare speak first, her head was completely empty of any thought. She looked at the group and waited for whoever to speak first. She definitely wasn’t a leader, more of a follower of whoever she liked most.
