Suvansh smirked at the thought, and replied, "Thank you, and it
sure would be a competition, but Gryffindor's gonna take the win.
Our team's been practicing hard, and despite it all, our
chemistry-" but while he was saying that, he just remembered what
had happened in the end of the last year. The other Gryffindor
prefect, who was the head girl now, and the Gryffindor chaser, and
also his girlfriend- a fight took place between them... Suvansh
sent Aurora a few letters over the summer, but she replied none.
She must be mad at him still, he thought, and started looking
around as if she would suddenly be here, listening to his thoughts,
but she wasn't.
"Oh, problems in paradise?" Jules snickered, setting his books down
as he was rung up. "I don't know much about relationships but if
you ever need apology gifts, I'll help you whip up a batch of
cookies. Or chocolate. Depending on what your partner likes, of
course." Patting Suvansh's shoulder comfortingly, he handed over
the requested galleons. The textbooks were all paced within his
bag, all except for once which he immediately opened up to start
reading
Suvansh sighed. "Ah well thank you." He smiles and starts thinking
what chocolates do Aurora like. He then notices Jules reading, so
he decided to ask him what did he wanna do next, and told him about
his plan to buy The Cosmos broom.
Raising an eyebrow, he let out a low whistle. A new broom, and a
pretty good model to boot. He himself had a Firebolt, curtosy of
his family and their insistence that their son get into sports, but
still a Cosmos broom would be pretty expensive as all brooms tended
to be. "What's the occasion? Celebrating the last year you'll be
stuck in school?" He asked, bookmarking his current page with his
thumb. "Whatever it is, you deserve it. Treating yourself to
something nice once in a while is always great."
"Haha yes thank you" Suvi left out a laugh. "You know how much I
love flying! And besides, my little brother needs my nimbus 3000.
He's got selected into the team last year. Anyways, you got
anything else to buy? After my broom, I even need a few new robes
you know."
Finally making her way to the brick wall, 'Ri removed her pale
brown wand from her back pocket where she tended to keep it;
although she was well aware of that old tale about how a witch or
wizard should never keep their wand in that pocket, she'd never
been much for following trivial rules. Besides, she trusted her
wand; it was said that the wands chose the wizards and the wands
tended to bond with their respective choice, and that was certainly
true for hers. Tapping it softly to the bricks, she stepped back
with a little grin as the wall peeled away. She needed a new winter
cloak, but her robes from the year before still fit her. The girl
never seemed to grow much anymore. Might as well get out ahead of
the crowd of First Years, run to Madam Malkin's first, then to
Flourish and Botts. Maybe she would stop by the Sugarplum's Sweets
Shop afterwards. She stepped into the bustling Diagon Alley,
adjusting her purse and striding confidently towards the robes
vendor.
“Ms Lestrange, will that be all? Per-perhaps you’ll be interested
in this extra studies book, on potions? You are indeed very smart.”
The shopkeeper stammered. When the Lestrange next spoke, it was in
a clear, cold and crisp voice that carried throughout the shop.
“That will be all, I wish not to purchase anymore books, thank you
very much. Though thank you, for the compliment.” The fourth year
stared idly at her nails, sweeping away from the counter with
elegance, as she watched more Hogwarts students appear in Flourish
and Blotts.
"Bloody hell, you're still growing? Now I know for sure I got the
short end of the puberty stick." He grumbled, eyeing the difference
in height between him and Suvi. If he looked closely, there indeed
was an increased difference in their height which irked Jules
slightly but what could he do. "But I'm done my business so onto
your robes. How is your brother, by the way? Is he settling in
nicely within the school?"
Suvansh grins at it, checking their heights himself. He went
towards Madam Malkin's with Jules. "Rohit is doing fine. He got a
gal first thing in his first year." He laughs. "Anyways he's gonna
be going to Hogsmeade this year. Can't wait till he tries the
butterbeer." He sees Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes by the corner of
his eyes. "Oi wanna go there lateh?" He points at the big face of
George/Fred.
"So your brother gets to try the Butterbeer and we get the
Firewhisky. Hogsmeade is going to make alcoholics out of us all."
He snickered, amused at the news that Suvi's brother had apparently
had a girlfriend even at his young age. While he couldn't exactly
approve of people hooking up so early in life, blame it on his more
conservative upbringing, he didn't mind them having fun and living
out their youth. Following his companion's finger, Jules fondly
rolled his eyes. "Oi, You're Head Boy now, what kind of model
student would you be if you set off Exploding Whizz Poppers in the
common rooms." He chided but the massive grin on his face said
otherwise. They were so going to go there if only to send Jules'
mother a Pygmy Puff. She would hate it so much.
Suvansh laughs out at the first line, and then even louder at the
second. He winks at him. He rushes his measurements and gets his
robes done, and they go to the shop.
They look around the shelves, and not surprisingly, there were A
MILLION new stuff from last year. He took some brain fade candies,
and some feathery fletches. He took some other new items, but went
back to the good ol classic stuff. He buys some pygmy puffs, as
does Jules, Suvansh notices.
"Reckon the pink would go nicely with that flush Mother gets when
she's real mad." Jules muttered to himself, nodding as he chose the
pink variant. Noticing Suvansh's questioning look, he only grinned
mischievously. "A parting gift for mother dearest. Ought to thank
her for putting up with all these years of me breaking family
traditions. Maybe I should get one for Aunt Belladonna. Bet she'd
love one too. I would hate for anyone in the family to feel left
out." With his more mischievous side in full play, he picked out a
few more Pygmys to gift to his relatives as well as a few self
spelling quills. He had learnt from last year that when he wrote
essays in the middle of the night, they had a tendency to contain
more than a few spelling errors. After a moment of consideration,
he also picked up some Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder and a pack
of Silver Sparkling Snakes. Mind as well have his own fun while he
was here.
Suvi grinned widely, chiming in the mischievous vibes. He bought
some self exploding quills and some powdered snow. He even took
some of those instant nausea powder, cause over the years he found
it was useful versus bullies (not that he needed em though).
He also packed some firecrackers and other fun stuff, and then
finally onto the sweets. He took a bagful of tasty wizarding
treats, for him, his brother, and potentially also for Aurora. He
even talked to Jules about it, as he had offered. He smiled and
thanked him for the help.
Aurora quietly hugs her sister goodbye. "Stay safe." she whispered.
Lenora nods. "If you need anything, you know exactly how to get to
me. If I have to leave school without permission, I will do it."
she says. "But why do you have to leave..." Lenora whimpered. "Be
strong Lenora. Ilvermorny will keep you safe." she says. The
sisters embrace, and separate. Lenora's chaperone, calmly walks her
away from the edge of the street. Aurora sighs. She decides to head
to Flourish and Blotts, to find some new books. While once upon a
time, she would have been recognized instantly by the owner, she
has changed a lot since her fight with Suvansh. For a moment, tears
fill her eyes but she brushes them away. She wishes her had written
back to him, but in a moment of anger she had ignored the letters.
She wonders if even he would recognize her now.
While Suvansh was paying for the stuff, he saw a girl, who looked
very similar to Aurora, out of the window. His heart sank for a
moment, wondering if she was still mad at him. He decided to excuse
himself and go out into the streets to walk about alone, and so he
does. He finds his mother sitting on a bench, so he hands over all
the stuff to her, except the chocolates he bought for Aurora,
just in case... he thought.
Aurora tenses up. She looks around for a moment, sure she felt
someone familiar's presence. She finally noticed Suvansh trailing
her. She closes her eyes for a moment. She speeds up, not enough
for it to be noticeable to anybody from the outside, but enough to
help her get to her destination faster. She spots the entranceway
to the store and takes a deep breath before practically running in.
Suvansh realizes that the girl, actually, was Aurora. She noticed
her see him from the corner of her eye before running off- so he
thought she didn't wanna talk to him. So he sighs, and decides to
just go over and buy his broom next, from Quality Quidditch
Supplies. He sort of hoped Aurora follows her but thought that
won't happen.
“Tsk, relationships. How pitiful, how worthless, love at such a
young tender age. Can’t really say anything though.” Scarlett
chuckled, leaving to go to Madam Malkins for new robes, then the
joker twins joke shop to get more Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder,
along with a few other supplies. She then headed over to Florean
Fortescue’s ice cream parlour to get an ice cream, before heading
to Gringotts. She had plenty of Galleons, Sickles and knuts,
Narcissa having taken a liking to her as a small child, giving her
little treats whenever she helped out around the house or met the
standards. The treats would usually be a Galleon, and she had
received many, alongside the Lestrange’s wealth. Her next words
were spoken in Parseltongue, as she called to the recently new
friend she had made.
Aurora looks behind her and instantly feels guilty. In truth, she
does want to talk to Suvansh. But after what happened at the end of
the year last year, and over the summer, she had developed such
extreme trust issues she couldn't bring herself to. She sighs. She
conjures a shopping bag with her wand and gets her school books.
One book, with a blue cover catches her eye. "A catalysts guide to
charms." she reads aloud. "Ah a experts guide." she jumps as the
store owner appeared behind her. "How much?" she asks immediately.
"Two galleons." he says. She drops the coins in his hand, and puts
the book inside her bag. She pays for her books and leaves, heading
towards where Suvansh had gone.
Suvansh heard footsteps, so he turned around, and saw Aurora coming
towards him. He ran to her and embraced her. The he put his eyes
down and told her sorry, offering her the chocolates he bought for
her.
