Favorite Underrated Game?
Forum-Index → General Discussion → Favorite Underrated Game?Aside from using a dagger to battle, you also could select a life with a different weapon to master. You could also take up lives that can allow you to craft items: potions, armor, weapons, tools for gathering materials, and accessories. My favorite life when it comes to creations is probably Tailoring. Pets are also oh so adorable and can actually battle alongside you as well. The game reminds me a bit of the Final Fantasy series but also has a sprinkle of Animal Crossing in there as well. The only DLC the game has is the Origin Island Expansion and while the price might intimidate a few, it does add a bit more to the game as well as unlock a good amount of the game that I think might of been locked in the game itself unless you had the DLC bought (basically a key to the lock).
I think the other underrated game I don't see a lot of folks talking about is probably Sonic CD. Maybe because it was a game on the failed Sega CD console and had a bit of a weird soundtrack, but that's what kind of gave the game that special charm. Although it's better to find a digital copy of it which is its remastered version since it does have a more improved save feature and you could unlock "Tails" after clearing the game the first full playthrough.
show by rock !! : if you happen to be a fan of love live!, bandori/bang dream, enstars, or any other idol games, then show by rock !! is definately something you might want to check out. pros include hot men, catgirls, & an anime adaptation!!
smile for me : the weirdcore aesthetic has slowly become a lot popular, if you enjoy this aesthetic & like the indie game genre, then smile for me is something that's sure to catch your eye. befriend & do tasks for the people at the Habitat, & find the true intentions of Dr. Habit
hotline miami : do you enjoy shooter games, but are downright terrified of mmos like COD/Valorant just bc of the vc function? well say no more! hotline miami is the perfect game for you. in this storytelling game, you are instructed to take down the russian mafia while exploring & navigating the setting of miami, florida in 1989
In general, I really liked Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin and thought it had a big fanbase. It... doesn't. Which is a shame! The characters are fun and creative, the whole game is absolutely beautiful and the controls are great.
I would also put Miitopia on here, but it has steadily been getting more attention since the remake on the Switch. Which is good! Play Miitopia! It's a good game!
Final Fantasy VI - This game came out on the SNES all the way back in 1994. It's a JRPG with an interesting story and really interesting characters, but it's not talked about as much as later Final Fantasy games are (cough cough FFVII). I highly recommend checking it out (If you do not own a SNES, a PS1 (or any Playstation with backwards compatibility), or a GBA, or do not have access to the original release or any of its rereleases, you can buy it on Steam or on the Apple app store or Google Play store)
Guardian Tales - This one is a mobile app that came out last year. It's a pretty fun RPG with a cute art style, Zelda-esque puzzles, at least 100 pop culture references, and there's also a town-building part of the game that you unlock after completing the first world, for anyone who's into that sorta thing. It does have some in-app purchases, but it's pretty F2P-friendly, and I personally have got through everything up to World 11 without paying a single penny. I felt like mentioning GT here because outside of its country of origin (South Korea), it's very obscure compared to some games that came out later in the year, and it's pretty hard finding fans of the game outside of the subreddit for the game.
I'd personally recommend Star Wars: The Old Republic, even to those who may bot be huge Star Wars nerds like me. Some of the storylines are incredibly fun, and the characters can really just worm their way into your heart
The game has 8 different stories to play through, each giving you different options for dialogue to help build you characters personality. I'm currently playing through Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitor, Republic Trooper, and Republic Smuggler. I would definitely recommend the Sith Warrior storyline! The game is mostly free to play, meaning you can finish all of the storylines without paying a single penny.
I would encourage anyone wanting to write an interesting story to play this game, as sometimes it feels like I'm watching an interactive movie. Some of the dialogue is just hilarious, and other times it's the funny animations that get me laughing. You can really get invested in the game. Anyways. 10/10 game and I don't think enough people play it as the Knights of the Old Republic definitely takes more of the spotlight these days.
TL:DR because I went on a ramble.
Star Wars the Old Republic holds a great storyline with amazing characters and it deserves more players.
