“Yeah. Certainly...” he cursed himself for not learning more water
magic. He decided to try lighting instead. Lightning did beat fire
after all “Elthunder!”
Fortem splashed once more, doing his best to focus the wave of
water right at the orb. Hopefully, if they beat all the side
orbs... this could be the last wave? No pun intended. Jumping back
after splashing, he tripped on a strong gale of wind and landed on
a rock- not one of his. He got to his feet, tired.
"Oh!" Fortem leaped back as the orb split into shards. "If we keep
this up for the other orbs, maybe we can break them too!" Hmmm...
what could Fortem do with his rock abilities! He looked at the
yellow orb, sparks of electricity flying around it. Well, rocks
weren't exactly ground, but they were similar. He decided to go
after it. Leaping over a wave of sparks, he stone edged the orb.
Fortem leaped back once more, accidentally landing on a cluster of
sparks. The shock made him flinch... it felt like one of those
prank zap toys, but a little worse. Thankfully, he wasn't fazed for
too long. Fortem created a platform, and began sending a volley of
rocks at the orb from up high. Up here, there wasn't too much to
dodge, save for the winds and the occasional spark or rock.
“......” what was he doing? This was small magic. He had to go
bigger “...I’ll burn it all... to cinders.... VALFLAME!” He cast
one of the strongest fire spells he knew
"...Ares, I hate to be the one to say it, but using fire against a
water orb might not be the most effective thing..." Fortem
admitted, ducking under another gale. He sent a few rocks at the
water orb to help out a bit, before returning his attention to the
yellow orb.
Trying to finish it off after Yung's rexcalibur, Fortem let out a
howl, before stone edging from atop his perch, hitting the
thundering orb with a forceful rock.
The attacks were much easier to dodge seeing as there were only air
and earth orbs left. Fortem chose to attack the brown orb spewing
rocks, and right 'fire with fire' and all that, or, in this case,
rocks with rocks. Countering the orbs attacks, he fired a few of
his own stones at every attack he saw. They were over half way in
this wave! They could do it! Well, if this was the last one...
which it hopefully was.
Mordred had fully set up Nasty Plots by this point, snarling as she
fired a Dark Pulse. “Where in the hell did you learn that magic
with the weird names?!” She panted, looking towards Ares.
Helda was still holding onto the Arcana, which was easier now that
the orbs were weakening. She dug her claws in deeper, getting a
good hold whilst smothering it in flames. The Windy orb thing
attacked her, causing her to fall off with a grunt. She did a roll,
getting back on her feet in a split second, whilst adjusting her
makeshift eyepatch. Casting a glance around the group, she realised
what their strategy was - so, naturally, she copied them, puffing
flames at the Wind orb.
“From when I was human. Aura is just a form of life energy, it’s
not hard to manipulate into magic if you take 10 years to learn.”
He upheld another barrier just in case
“Wow,” Mordred flashed Ares a glance filled with admiration.
“That’s cool.” She muttered under her breath, losing her focus on
the battle for a moment.
