RP Sign-ups

When Edmund woke up, the day seemed just like any other normal, anticlimactic day. He got dressed, went to school, came back home, and headed out for work. He worked at his local donut shop, so his work attire consisted simply of a light blue t-shirt with the 'Delicious Donuts' logo printed across it. He swiped through his phone as he made his way towards the restaurant. His attention was caught by a web page on his phone reading, BREAKING NEWS: 'Zombie Virus' casualty rates hit 500,000 in 10 days! He tapped on the article, scrolling through it. Nearly 200,000 deaths...considered a global emergency...
He sighed as he shoved his phone back into his pocket. This stupid disease had only been around ten days; there's no way it could have already killed that many people. "The media is ridiculous," he muttered to himself as he pushed open the doors, already dreading work.

idk how to start an rp so if u guys want we can kinda do a bird box situation where the disease comes n infects everyone out of nowhere n then the characters hide somewhere n meet each other

Abigail sighs, looking disturbed by the news of the spread of the virus, she had lost her family and friends due to the virus. She had taken shelter in a tree house, she found that the zombies lacked the muscle to climb after her, although a few did crowd the bottom at times. She leaned back on her makeshift chair, staring out the doorway she sat lost in one thought 'Will this ever end? Or will it end with me dying?'

Leila laid one her bed, curled up under the blanket hoping that nothing could touch her. It was the only part of the house that those... those things didn’t get to. She thought that they had cleared out by now, but occasionally she would hear some sluggish footsteps or something breaking. She couldn’t sleep, she couldn’t eat, heck, she could barely breath normally she was so shaken up. Her shaky hand picked up her buzzing phone and carefully slid it under the covers. BREAKING NEWS: 'Zombie Virus' casualty rates hit 500,000 in 10 days! the screen showed. Tears began to fill her eyes. Dad went to get some food from the store and still hadn’t come back. Mom had work in another state/country (are we in America orrrrrr...), so she wouldn’t be back for another week. She was starving, she could feel her ribs at this point. She only had 2 bottles of water left before she ran out.

"Shut up!" Abigail shouts at the zombies below her, not really caring if her shouting attracted more zombies. She needed more water, and meat, she should also check her sorry excuse of a garden. But she couldn't make a plan with their constant cries. Taking out her pistol she fired three shots at the three zombies. She aimed for the head, is appeared it was the best way to kill them. The silencer helped muffle the shot but it was still far too loud of a sound in these woods. When no more zombies come she hops out of the tree and goes out to collect supplies

"BREAKING NEWS: 'Zombie Virus' casualty rates hit 500,000 in 10 days!"

Gris flipped off the tv and looked out the window. A scruffy gray small cat jumped on the window sill next to Gris, it nudged her hand and gave a meow. In the kitchen there was a deer carcass hanging in a giant freezer like thing to keep the deer meat from rotting. In the window a pipe brought some rain water from yesterday's storm and was stock holding it in a good sized container.

"How am I not dead yet...?" Dias helplessly mumbled to himself, hugging his backpack close. It all happened in a flash. His abusive father had come home with a workplace injury left untreated. The next thing he knows is that he had escaped from his father after walking in to see him devouring his cat.

He didn't have anything to fend for himself. In a hurry, Dias had grabbed most of his precious books, his phone and his wallet and stuffed it into the leather backpack and ended up in this situation, where he had survived from sneaking around in abandoned supermarkets and in a panic, dove into a tight locker. "Welp, I'm safe from those creatures but, will my supplies keep me long enough?" The male muttered to himself as he dug thrkugh his backpack, in search of his phone.

"Five hundred thousand...in ten days..." Dias muttered once more, the screen emitting blue light on his eyes was painful and he had forgotten his glasses. Oh well, he's not blind yet and he can still see everything perfectly fine. Not perfect per se but you get the point.

Now, I'd say that's a task well taken care of! Uh… were you expecting something more?

A sudden and muffled bang was heard coming from her door. They were here. She clamped her mouth shut before she could scream in hopes that they would just move on. She couldn’t do this, she just couldn’t. Tears were streaming down her face, and she was curled up into the tightest ball she could be in. She couldn’t move, she couldn’t make a sound. She knew that if she did, it wouldn’t be good.

Abigail found herself in an old supermarket that was just a half mile away from the woods, she often went here to keep up a stock on medication and packaged food. She liked having a supply of ramen when she didn't have a successful hunt or a successful growth of food. She jumped in surprise when she heard the unmistakable sound of zombies. There were two of them pacing close to a locker. Not wanting to risk shooting them when didn't have the safety of her tree she decided to use her sword instead. She stabbed her sword towards the first zombie, but cursed outloud when the blade got stuck. The second zombie eargerly walked towards her

More bangs were herd from the door, but they were pretty weak. She didn’t know what to do. Her window was too small and too high up, she didn’t have anything to protect her, like she could anyways. She decided to hide under her bed, hoping it would be safer there.

Edmund's eyes scanned around the dark restaurant. He stepped in as the doors behind him closed. "Maybe we didn't have work today?" he asked himself as he pulled out his phone, checking to see if he had received a "work cancelled" text. Nothing.
Suddenly he heard a groan from the back of the shop. "Hello?" he called. Nothing. He slowly made his way towards the back. His eyes fell upon a paled man sitting on the floor. "Mr. Stephenson?!" he called, crouching down next to his manager. "Are you okay? What happened?" he asked. After a few seconds of silence, Edmund reached his hand up to feel the man's pulse. Suddenly, the man hurled himself onto Edmund, knocking him over. "What-" he exclaimed before his arm was bitten by the man. He let out a scream as he shoved the man off of him. He stood up, running towards the entrance of the store. He ran out onto the streets, breathing heavily. "Where is everyone?!" he yelled, out of breath.

Gris heard Edmund's scream and poked her head out the window. He was running around in the streets in a panick. She grabbed a crumpled sheet of paper and threw it at him. It hit Edmund in the head and when he opened it it read 'look up' and he looked up in Gris' direction.

(time to cut off Edmund's arm lol.)

Hearing someone curse, Dias curiously peeked out of the cramped space. There he saw someone struggling with the....creatures. Rummaging through his backpack, the teenager tried to look for something that could be used as a weapon. "Nothing...?" Dias whispered helplessly. Looking around, Dias saw a cinderblock right next to the locker. Why it was there when there were no debris, he didn't know. The cinderblock weighed more than he could carry. Lifting the block up to his head, the blunette managed to smash one of the creature's head, specifically the one who tried to get close towards the stranger.

"Ew." Dias gagged, blood splatters all over him. He wasn't good with gore or violence. He guesses that it's fine in this situation, although he thinks when he's backed into a corner. Oh well, his body needs to be used to it until this was all over.

Now, I'd say that's a task well taken care of! Uh… were you expecting something more?

Leila whimpered and cried, knowing no one could save her now. She took out her phone and dialed 911. She knew it wouldn’t work, she tried it every day.

Gris' cat slipped out the window and walked around, it had caught Leila's faint scent. The gray cat went unnoticed int the sea of walkers and following the trail, went straight to Leila and crawled under the bed, mewoing softly at her.

After the call went to voicemail, she turned off her phone and curled up into her blanket. She noticed a gray cat next to her after it meowed a bit. She jumped a bit and almost screamed, but she clamped her mouth shut. After she realized the cat was normal, she calmed down a bit

The cat aproached her with quiet tenative footsteps as if scared of spooking Leila, when she reached Leila's side she was purring and nudging against her to calm her. The cat knew that what it would have to do next would be tough on the poor girl, but if she could move through or at least by pass the walkers to Gris they'd be in the clear.

She let the cat come close to her, knowing that it was the only safe living thing around. The gray cat somewhat comforted her a bit, letting her know that there was something good out there.

Once the gray cat thought that Leila had been calmed enough she gave her a soft mew and led her to the door, they needed to go. It wasn't safe here.

Leila shook her head. She couldn’t make it, she would be killed the first step she took outside the door. She felt safer here than outside.

Abigail's eyes widened when Dias killed the zombie. 'That explains why they were staying so close to the locker' she thinks to herself. "Thank you" she says breathlessly, "That was a close one" She pauses to size the boy up, trying to peg whenever he is a threat or not, it's not uncommon for healthy people to attack other healthy people. She catiously steps away from him. "What are you doing here?" She asks lightly, trying to break the awkwardness
