Quinn woke up a bit late, in the far corner of the room was her bed, squeezed on the floor was Jax, her large white lion. He was already awake and keeping a watchful eye out. He yawned lazily stretching his large muscles, careful not to knock into anything. Quinn laughs at the large cat and ruffles up his large mane. She pauses, noticing that almost everyone had left. "Come on Jax" she tells her guide, the two carefully weave through the beds in search of some breakfast

"I know. Doesn't do much to help the nerves though." He smiled thinly shifting from foot to foot. Drake had the kind of presence that Queen felt safe and happy being around, any anxieties slowly ebbing away. Breathing in deeply before releasing it, Queen felt the background noise of the mess hall fade away into a full hum. All Queen could see now were Drake, Gerald, and the guides the only things who mattered at this moment.

Drake just shook his head. “You’ll do great. Gerald isn’t so protective over you for nothing. You’re the best student he’s had.” His tail swayed, he stood straight up, making Gerald let out a small sigh from the weight being released from him. Drake approached Queen, gently ruffling his hair. “I believe in you.”

Quinn walks past the group tiredly. "Too early to talk to people" she mumbles with a yawn. She grabs a bagel and a small coffee, sitting down onto a chair, she turns her head and glances at the group curiously. Jax sits down next to her, with his large form, he sits taller than her.

Queen was pretty sure he wasn't the best student Gerald ever had. He was pretty mediocre and Gerald was an amazing teacher even if his frail disposition suggested otherwise. Drake was most likely exaggerating to make him feel better, but Queen appreciated the effort. What he appreciated even more was the head ruffle. It was warm and kind, just like Drake, fatherly even. "Thanks Drake." He murmured flushing under the attention

Drake smiled brightly, giving him a small hug, but careful not to disturb the snake too much.

There was a crash in the mess hall as a half-dressed drunk fell in the doorway.
Gerald responded by taking a long, loud slurp of coffee and giving a judge mental stare. “Morning, Mika.” He grumbled after a moment.

Tray entered the mess hall, oblivious to Gerald and Queen, oblivious to the drunk Mika, and walked over to get some food. She wasn’t even hungry, but when was she ever? She sighed and hung her head low as she walked over to a far, gloomy corner with no one there. She walked by the tables unnoticed.

Queen sighed and relaxed into the hug, Sylphid purring contently in his guardians arms. This small pocket of peace was disturbed however when Mika crashed through the dining hall, scarring Queen. The poor boy jumped back a few paces, and the snake in his arms hissed in surprise coiling tightly around the arms holding him on instinct

"pleasedontkillmeimsorry!" He squeaked, crouching down into a small ball. Oh, he'd really done it now, hadn't he. Just had to open his mouth and draw attention to himself. All Queen wanted to do was help others without being a bother.

She was stunned by the commotion, slowly converting to annoyance. Why was everyone here so ridiculous? “Whatever...” She turned her attention away from the “crowd” and sat down. She set her arm down on the table and laid her head in her arm, then began to cut up her waffle with her fork.

Stunned by the sudden turn of things, Quinn sets down her drink and half eaten bagel, she walks over to the crowd with Jax in tow. Jax lets out a low rumble, alerting the crowd of their presence. "Now now" she says softly both to the group and her guide. "Let's all just take a deep breath, what ever is going on here?" She asks, folding her arms and giving everyone a disapproving look
