Ms. Hayle wrote down Melon's name on her clipboard and while they were waiting for other Pokemon to volunteer, Melon thought about who she wanted to add to her team. She really wanted Cinder to be on her team and maybe...Haru and his sister? Looking behind her, she spotted Cream and thought to include her in her team as well if it was possible.
Ms. Hayle, doing some quick math, figured out that there should be about 7-8 players to a team and that there were 4 teams total. She hoped that everyone would get along with their team and play fairly. She also made a mental note to herself to post a list of soccer rules and teams, names, and matches near the gym entrance later.

Summer was not interested in being a captain. It was to early in the school year for her to know who to choose, other than Zora.
Zora stayed with Summer. Her shyness kept her from calling out, and she was fine with being a team player anyway.

Then, she turned to Phyn and Beth explaining, "We're looking for soccer captains to lead the different teams."

Then, after a long thought, Ms. Hayle slightly smiled and wrote down Winter's name on the captain list without anyone noticing. She thought, I hope I made the right choice...it would be best for Winter to be more motivated and participating more in gym class so being a captain might definitely help!

Winter looked up. He wished there was a clock around so he could check the time. He was getting hungry, and lunch was next. He also knew there would just be one more class before the students slept in the dorms for the first time, and he was a little excited to meet his roommates.

She took a deep breath and entered. She fixed the flower on her head and decided to walk around to know about the place. She stopped at the gym, hearing noises from other students. "Oh no, w-was I late," she muttered, looking at the gym from the hallway. "Good job Kiki, way to start the first day," she thought, looking down sadly.

“Oof...was I late?” he questioned quietly, knowing full well that he was late with all the students staring wide-eyed at him. All except Cinder who wasn’t Pokémon enough to do that but instead seemed less stiff and relieved that he came and kinda blushed.
Ms. Hayle told him that “no, he wasn’t because it’s the first day of school, but he would get points off his grade if he continued to be late for class.” The Hoopa grinned mischievously and a few seconds later, the bell rang for lunch.

Jin popped out fully from his ring and stored it back onto his hand.
He said to Cinder, “Hey, Cindy! I’m so glad to see you again! Why don’t I come meet you and your friends and let’s go have lunch!”
Cinder replied, “Oh-yes I am so happy to see you too! This is Melon, Haruki, and Kurusu!”
She gestured over to the trio, awkward and seemingly feeling out of place until Kurusu, the first to snap out of the confusion and break the silence, welcomed and greeted him politely. After a moment’s hesitation, she slinked off to join Summer and Zora, asking them if they could eat lunch together.
Haruki sighed. He didn’t think Kurusu had a great impression on Jin and that she wanted to get away from the awkwardness of it all. As a matter of fact, he wanted to too.

Haruki hesitated, then went up to Winter who seemed to be sitting alone and asked, “Hey, if you want, you can come eat lunch with me and my friends!”
He gestured with a flipper towards Melon, Cinder, and Jin.
