Ms Hayle noticed a tired-looking Charmander with a headband and bandana darting into the gym. She called to her to join them and explained what they were doing. She also introduced herself and the other gym teacher, Mr. Champ who was absent today. Then, she returned her attention back towards the others and, although smiled on the outside, hid a small disappointment in her gut. She saw that most Pokemon were either bored, aloof, tired, or unmotivated. Perhaps it was just because they had all waited a long while for her. Ms. Hayle felt slightly guilty and nervous at this fact. It was only her first day of teaching while most of the other teachers had taught classes before. She wanted to make a good impression and teach well...she hoped she was doing just that.

Ms. Hayle turned to them saying, "Oh--welcome you two!! I'm Ms. Hayle! We normally have two teachers for gym class, but Mr. Champ is absent today so it'll just be me...anyway, come and join us!"
She gestured them over to her and the big group of Pokemon throwing the big, bouncy ball around and saying their names. Ms. Hayle explained to them what they were doing and after, returned her attention to the rest of the class.

After a few moments, Ms. Hayle went back into the small storage room and pulled out a clipboard and pen. She scanned the names of the students on the piece of paper attached to the clipboard, marking a few names for the ones who were absent.
"Ok everyone! Listen up and put the ball down! I've decided that I'm going to pick out your teams early this year for our soccer unit." she exclaimed. "This doesn't mean we're starting the actual games early, but I would like to get some work done while we're behind schedule."
"Also..." she started as she noticed a few Pokemon sitting on the bleachers and lounging around, "start participating!! You won't get a good grade unless you actually do gym class!"

The teacher sighed again, "The whole point of this activity isn't just passing a ball around...it's also to learn everybody's names. Obviously you will need to know once all of you get put into teams. At least...pay attention ok?"

Taking in a deeper breath than she wanted, Ms. Hayle walked back to the other side of the room, took out her clipboard, and waited until the Pokemon settled down a bit first before saying, "Ok, everyone can I have your attention please? If anyone would like to be a soccer captain, come to me. The rest of you, keep playing and introducing yourselves."

Purple ears twitching and looking up from her clipboard, Ms. Hayle welcomed the shiny Keldeo in and explained to her what they were doing today. She asked her if she wanted to be a soccer captain. If not, she would join in with everyone else and learn everyone else's names.
