Every 10 years, a group of young merfolk are chosen to receive legs and spend time up on the surface. After one month, they will return to the sea and live out the rest of their lives and those who wish to remain on the surface must find a special gem to sustain their life force outside of the sea or receive true love's kiss.
However, some never return and not for the reasons many think they do. Lately a new phenomenon has blown up in the human market. Merfolk scales are the new hot thing, marketed to find the wears soulmate. And some people will do anything to get their hands on them. Legend also says that a Merfolk's tears can fetch a very high price on the market as it can cute almost any wounds
10 years has passed and it is time for the next school of youth to go to the surface. Who knows what perils await them

Her glare is worse than her bite. Corali is very orderly in how she does things and quite often prefers everything to be done cleanly. That being said, she hates others touching her stuff, and herself, in fear of them causing any damage. She’s extremely cautious with an anxious touch, her softer side really only showing towards flora of any kind.

Personality: leven is very quiet and brooding, as his looks may suggest. however, he’s not really as mean as he looks. he’s just miserable. he didn’t want to go up to the surface brother his brother pushed him into it so here he is. he would much rather spend his days swimming and spending time with fish and such, but it’s hard for him to do that when it just reminds him of the things he’s practically lost.
