As the title suggests.
Some people like to have people on their mutual friend's list simpe for the truth that, yes, they are friends. But sometimes,, friends can talk too much. I suggest there be an option under the arrow on your friend's feeds, or on your friend's list, to mute that friend so you will not see or be alerted to the feeds they make, but also so you don't have to actually unfriend that person.

This of course isn't really anything too serious, and I understand can be easily brushed off with a "don't friend people", but I thing this would be a good small update ^^

EDIT: As well as a button to mute in the dropdown feature on a feed, there could be an option next to each name in your friendslist that is a quicklink to unmuting. Much like the hearts are a quicklink to unfriending. Maybe a little speaker icon with a cross through it for muted, and no cross for unmuted?

The point of this is so they are still on your friend's list, so blocking them is not a good alternative. You want to friend someone but don't want their feeds clogging your dash, especially if they talk a lot ;;

I don't think a 'mute friend' button should be too difficult to code in, and I'm not even sure why it wouldn't be a feature yet.

Then simply ignore them. This feature doesn't seem to have a need in this game

Your notifications spammed with new feeds every other minute (in the worst case) is hardly something you can easily ignore. To be honest, I think you're simply missing the point of this suggestion. It's okay if it doesn't affect you or what, but I can absolutely understad where AcryliCatUwU is coming from here.
I myself have removed quite a bunch of people from my friendlist for the exact same reasons as mentioned by AcryliCatUwU. And I really didn't like doing it because I still considered those users friends or at the very least persons I liked well enough, but I for the life of me can't stand my notification feed being flooded with 20+ feeds every hour. A mute button would make things so much better in this regard!

So, yeah, I wholeheartedly support this suggestion.

Thank you so much Lirah;;

I personally hate removing people i consider friends just because they send feeds very often or I just have so many that everyone's feeds pile up.. Do I hope other people understand where I'm coming from and really hope this idea gets considered.

The only problem this feature would have is that you would likely miss out on sonething pretty important that they might post about. That would mean you would have to visit their profile often and check there feeds. A way this could be fixed is if you where to see turn seeing there feeds back on, it would also show their past feeds, just like when adding someone to your freind list, you can see past feeds. This would basically just make it so that you can turn there feeds appearing again on, see what they've been up to, and turn it back off. Sure it's just as slow as looking at someone's profile and seeing they're recent feeds, but at least you aren't visiting thier profile almost every day, beacuase that's kinda weird. I personally have never Actaully had to this, but at times I have wanted certain people to stop constantly posting.

Support!

But I'd like the possibility to set a timer how long they should be muted and a "mute-list" so you can see who you've muted and for how long.

Yes please!
I don’t friend a lot of people for this reason, and I feel really bad.
I even don’t friend people because I’m scared I post too much.

@Colgari, I figured It would also be a button implemented on the friend's list, so you can unmute them at any time.

Exactly! I hate getting so many notifs, I'll actually have a few dozen by the time I get back on in the next afternoon, but I also would really hate to remove people from my friend's list and keep myself from friending anyone.

Definite support.

I don't like unfriending active people, especially when they've done nothing wrong, per se, but there has been a few I have been forced to remove because their inane non-relevant drivel or repetitious posting has driven me half insane and of course, I can't bring myself to say anything about it. (Because really, what right do I have to criticise when ppl have the right of free speech within the rules of the site)

I love this idea. I want to friend more people but I don't like my feed being clogged up.

Support.

Maybe in addition to the mute and un-mute buttons, there can be a filter as well, so you can add in keywords to keep posts that are game relevant showing up.

Say you want to know when they might post giveaway information, or if they're looking to buy something, you filter the keywords "Giveaway" "buying" "looking for" "pd" "nuggets" etc...

I like this idea since it prevents the unnecessary guilt of unfriending people who don't truly deserve it.

I definitely support this. Some people just seem to spam my notifications with too many unnecessary feeds, and I don't want to have to unfriend them because of it.

i definitely agree! It would be a plus and help especially for some accounts that post more than others. (We love everybody though)
