"Well, yeah, but you can't hurt other students. Stuff works
differently here than it does on Earth. Most students would take it
as a threat or challenge. Trust me, I learned the hard way," Felix
replied. His phone dinged in his back pocket and he ignored it.
Quinn checked it for him while she talked.
"Yeah, his second day he kicked a cat hybrid named Ashlin and she
tried to maul him. It was really funny. I filmed it all. The only
reason he won is because he grabbed one of her ears and practically
tried to rip it off. She was super chill about it, though." Quinn
laughed a little to herself.
“So where are we? Somebody said I have a flower sould and
I’m in the void.”
(Oops were we supposed to remember that part from the thing in the
sign ups?
Doyle just jumped onto the next subject, trying to let the vine
incident slip by as if he didn't notice.
"So, I assume that there aren't only humans here - can the other...
'beings' speak as well?", he wondered. It would be pretty cool to
meet a talking dragon or something like that, even though he didn't
believe that creatures like that actually existed.
"Oh, hybrids kinda look human, except they usually have another
animal's features as well. There's all sorts of them. Dogs, cats,
reptiles, birds. Sometimes they have non-human colors, too. Like,
Ashlin has natural pink hair and fur. They're kinda awesome,
actually," Quinn said, scrolling through Felix's phone. "And yes,
many creatures here can speak. Although some of them don't have the
mouth or vocal chords suited for English, so a few speak Latin or,
like, Chinese better."
Amanda nodded at the explanation before frowning as something else
popped out at her from earlier in the conversation. "What did you
mean by affiliation and how can we figure out our own?" She asked
quietly while messing around with her own bracelet.
"An affiliation is what flower your soul is, and empaths can see
and feel them with permission." Quinn said with a smile. "Usually a
teacher or imp does it but I can also do it with supervision."
Amanda hummed at the explanation. "Alright. Thank you." She said
quietly before looking around. "This is a school correct? What are
the classes like?" She asked Quinn before wincing a bit. "Sorry for
all the questions." She mumbled quietly.
Doyle shrugged at everyone talking about what flowers they were
affiliated with. He didn't know his - but it wasn't like he wanted
to know anyways. He kind of disliked flowers.
Quietly crossing his arms in front of his chest, he leaned on the
wall and waited for the answers to Amandas questions.
As he made his way over to the little gathering by the entrance
that seemed to consist of three teenage girls chatting up a pair
that Colt guessed were a bit closer to his own age. Coming to a
stop a bit behind the group, he already opened his mouth once to
add to the barrage of questions he walked in on but thought the
better of it at the last second, snapping his mouth shut. He
probably should not interrupt after all, it was bad enough he
managed to get on one person's nerves already. Perhaps he should
not add more to the count right off the bat.
Thus, he resigned to hovering around, spotting another youngster
that seemed to have opted to let others ask the questions, a guy
with red hair Colt noted after a brief double-take. Unlike the
younger lad leaning against the wall, Colt appeared unable to wait
in such a relaxed fashion. He was shifting from one foot to
another, crossing and uncorssing his arms, and occasionally leaning
over to try to get a better glimpse into the building from between
the bodies partially blocking his view all the while his gaze
shifted between the small gathering of people as they exchanged
brief questions and replies.
Colt itched to get a look at the interior of the impressive...
school apparently. Though castle sounded less lame if you asked
him.
Katie was really exited about this what could life be
like knowing she had a flower soul? What was her power? Would
others with a flower soul be nice to a girl as fun, loving, and
energetic as herself?
"Well, you have some of your normal school classes, but those are
short. It really depends on age and your ability or soul. I, for
example, am training to help imps and be a backup for Felix, Elin,
and Mirror, so I sit in on a lot of classes and try to adjust
people's moods without them noticing." Quinn handed Felix's phone
back to him and he pocketed it. "Felix, on the other hand, takes a
lot of combat classes with Mirror because they're training to be
defensive and offensive. Elin is still taking a lot of core
classes, especially in neurology, and does a lot of training
outside of the classroom. It's very flexible, basically."
