I've seen one complaint like this, where it was deemed a "random daycare thing"

But I would like to say, I always get more shinies on "increased breeding" days, though no influx of eggs, and more eggs on "increased shiny" days, but no shinies XD

But I've had the mega boost 6 times now and nada in any direction. <-Meaning I have had NO megas at all since the update.

I'm guessing some values were mixed up, and those with lower mega chance like me (which I know is a thing because I get shinies a lot or used to before the update and my husband didn't, though he got megas allll the time and I would get 1 or two in a hundred eggs. Others have confirmed this suspicion when asked about their luck.)

I really think this needs checked..

Also, I know it's fixed now, but I was one of a handful of accounts who couldn't get the Hoopa rings even though they'd unlocked the quest, for almost 24 hours after the event was released, which further proves the different coding per account, so I'm not crazy in thinking these things.

Jan 29th was an increased egg day. but I hatched 4 shinies that day, on minimal eggs.

While I'm not saying this couldn't potentially being a problem, there's no concrete data that this is an actual problem. I might've planned on collecting some data concerning my Account about the Fountain, because of the reports, but for now, there's no visible proof

As you've posed a predisposed question, of course only people who actually agree/had it happen, are going to answer. It doesn't tell us anything about the users who've actually had a positive experience with the Fountain.

And the rings were a site-wide problem; everyone who found a Hoopa, couldn't start searching for rings, so that doesn't really prove anything about different coding per account ^^'

They were fixed long before I was able to collect them actually, I had messaged Riako about it long after friends started finding them, you can see my struggle log and where I commented on it's release feed. I had been through every page hours after Argentis got their first hoopa egg and I'd seen my request from the Prof, and I can get screen shots to prove that actually.

The question is asking in general if anyone has experienced the same things, people are more than welcome to comment that they haven't. :/

EDIT: I actually had a convo with you the night of the Hoopa event XD

Because they had been found by others and I hadn't found a single ring even though I'd opened the quest around the same time as them.

I'm sorry, but those are not general questions and lean heavily towards others who've had a negative experience with the Fountain as well. As such, it's not calling for those with a different experience to come forward as well, even if that was your intention.

Edit [while typing] - Ok, yeah, disregard my comment about the Hoopa rings. I remembered too late that we actually did have that conversation x'D Did you eventually figure out what the cause was?
[Because there's no 'personal coding'; there's different outside influences that effect the code... As this is not something that needs to appear "over" a page, I highly doubt they'd 'feel' the same influences/same effects as there were on the Hoopa Rings.]

yea... about the fountain thing
i'm pretty sure when i had an increased breeding chance i got less eggs than i normally was (and this is with a perfect pair so..)
i got shiny increase like once on that shiny hunt but i didn't get any shinies until well after that
I didn't really notice anything with mega-able increases since i wasn't shiny hunting a mega-able pokemon.

It was resolved the next day after some more coding had been done I believe. I woke up after having searched until 4 am my time and they were suddenly appearing in common places I go. (Like the Emera mall main page/DW pages.)

The question I posed invites opinions on either direction I believe, I'm asking people to confirm or deny my findings.

Personally I've found with the fountain that since it has been implemented it's has been backwards. I had increased breeding chance had less egg. Had increased mega chance and got more eggs (stuff like that) it seems that it doesn't work all that well tbh.

That sounds more like a cache-issue, rather than a coding-issue. Because, even if for one person, at least that one person will be informed about a change, to make sure their issue is solved. If Riako didn't say anything, but the issue got resolved, it might've been your laptop/mobile that was causing the issue by not recognizing/implementing the newest code-change.

Also, I understand that you want to believe that, but the words I put in bold are the words that make it a predisposed question. I'm not 'fearing' or 'assuming' it's a question aimed at a specific group, I know and am telling you that it is ^^'
Which is why that screenshot doesn't really tell us anything about the general experiences, but only about those that had a negative experience about it.


Again, I'm not saying there couldn't be something amiss, but that screenshot, with that question, can't be used as objective proof that something's wrong with the Fountain.
Also, as bad experiences are more easily remembered/recalled than good experiences, people saying they've had a bad experience, doesn't mean they couldn't have had good experiences before. I'm sorry, but that's just how human nature works, remember the bad, not the good ^^'

Unless someone actually writes down what the Fountain says and what the site eventually does [day after day], there's no objective proof that something's wrong with the Fountain. Otherwise, it's just users remembering something bad happening and forgetting the good that happened :/

The cache issue was not the problem, as it was suggested to me at one point and I completely cleared my cache and browsing history to try and fix it, which it did not. The miraculously it was there when I woke up lol. I posted a new post asking people to come here.

I personally have had NO good experiences with it since the release. I have gotten Mega on Shiny day, and NO Shiny at all for Shiny Days, (and I've had several of those). I am aware of the RNG and how things work (meaning you could get 100 wins or losses in a row in Coinflip. So it could be working perfectly, just with convenient opposites that make it seem like it's functioning improperly, or consistent days of bad luck)

Regardless. With so many people concerned about the statistics that they are seeing, yourself included, Riako really should take a few minutes to look into it and say "Yes" or "No". Even though I agree that people in general remember incorrectly or remember the negative experiences over the positive, the players need to know that their voices are being heard and taken seriously, even if it's over something so minor.

I said that I can't deny that there could be something wrong, but as my experience hasn't been bad personally, I have no (personal) reason to think something actually is wrong.

I'm also not quite sure how qualified you are to give Riako a time frame, but as someone who lives with two coders I can tell you it can take a lot longer than 'a few minutes' to check code. Especially if there's discernable proof that something is wrong.

Which is exactly why I mentioned keeping a log; it shows proof to both user and Riako whether something is wrong and, in case there is, gives Riako a starting point on where to look. Just saying 'something is wrong', aside from being potentially biased, also gives Riako no starting clue in his search for a possibly non existing bug. The reason I'm replying, is to show that their voices are being heard.


As for my experiences - I had an increase in eggs when the Fountain promised, during my Eevee and my Purrloin hunt. Both Lady Syne and my one shiny Happiny were hatched during an 'increased shiny' day. (In a sea of shiny drought)
My Eevee hunt was a pleasure from start to finish and the few shiny-less days weren't 'increased shiny' days.

The fountain works perfectly fine and the chances are increased properly. I checked multiple times and also have data that shows that users get a little more eggs/shinies/meta-ables ON AVERAGE thanks to the fountain.

Having an 'increased shiny chance' does what it says it does - it increases your shiny chance. It does, however, NOT guarantee a shiny Pokemon on that day.
It's just a small increment of your chance to get one. The amount by which the chance increases is not known publicly - but let me just say that much: it costs 100 PD, so you shouldn't expect a doubled shiny chance or anything like that...


Same with the increased daycare egg chance. The amount of eggs that you get from the daycare is random already. It is completely impossible to say that your chance isn't increased just because you got less eggs than on the day before - because you don't know how many eggs you would have received on that day without the chance booster.

Also the 'so many people are having bad experiences with the fountain' argument doesn't really work like that as well. Just because you see more users complaining about the chance not working than users who are happy that their chance increment works, doesn't mean that there are more users who are having negative experiences. That's just because users who have positive experience don't share that in their feeds very often or even look for bug report threads about it.

We've had the same issue with our flutes. There were (are?) some users who thought the flutes didn't work or even decreased their chances. And that's just not true as well. It's just a small amount of users who simply had bad luck. But they would have had even worse luck without the flutes. But, you know, there's no real way to prove that.
That's all just the nature of randomness.
