Louis is hiding behind a few wooden pallets and a tarp, fidgeting
with some scrap metal and a battery and a poor excuse for a shank
if ever there was one. He looks around, thinking up a plan to get
from cover to the motorbike without being spotted or attacked.
Makau tried to take cover best she could, but a bullet grazed over
the top of her shoulder despite her efforts. With a low hiss of
pain, she hauled herself up onto a tree branch using mostly her
uninjured arm. From there, it was a little easier to climb, but she
had to stay on the side of the tree that wasn't facing the grunts,
and that made it slightly more difficult. Really, this was an
idiotic plan if there ever was one, but she was 59% sure she could
pull it off.
The goons fired at Makau still, confused but still alert. Clover,
meanwhile, was hearing the gunshots but had little to no idea where
they were coming from. Besides, Gem was still very much unconscious
and needed to get back.
*~*~*~*
"Someone must have come from the city," A goon called, looking at
the motorbike. "...Should we take it in?"
Makau reached across to another tree, out in the open for barely a
moment before she swung and hid behind a trunk once more. She
continued this, getting closer to the grunts every time, until she
was only a tree or two away from them. "Do you really want to fight
me, up in a tree, where it's incredibly easy to fall and hit your
heads?" She called.
Angell loads the moddified dart rifle and peers though the scope.
Angell starts to speak into the radio ¨Hermie or whatever his name
is sure knows how to flatter people, i count 35-38 goons on the
ground alone, 12 in the trees, and 8 more..¨(sees Anubis´s shot
take out one of the goons)¨.. make that 7 surrounding a warehouse
in the city out reaches. Who do i take out first?¨
The goons in the trees looked at one another. "It's our job,
sweetheart," One called, and fired again (while the others just
leaned back and watched).
*~*~*~*
Clover yiped. A grunt slammed her from the side, making her fall,
but Rylie was faster and retaliated quickly with a throwing knife.
It stuck and the goon fell back. There are so many... It'd be
too risky to go back to the base.
She pulled up the radio. "No one is permitted to go back to the
base before we get the numbers of these guys down. Understood?"
"All right, then," Makau muttered, snapping off a nice, relatively
thick branch above her. It splintered just the right way so it was
sharp on the end. Perfect, she thought with a sinister inner
smile. She took a moment to remember where they were, ducked around
the trunk between shots, and threw it best she could, aiming for
the face. It wasn't weighted or anything, but it'd work.
Louis hears gunshots and shouts behind him. But, crap, he had
forgotten to grab an earpiece before leaving. He didn’t know
anything that anybody was saying. He finds a spot he had used as a
workshop, and grabs the welding torch and some screwdrivers from
within. He then goes and tries to find Angell again, this time he
had a form of weapon.
The shooter was hit and fell through the branches of the trees,
hitting the ground with a thump. The others scrambled up, into the
trees, in an effort to get away.
After Knocking out 3 more guys in the trees Angell sees Louis and
runs over.
¨Heya nice to see you here, three questions: Are you any good with
a pistol, its also got a laser sight in case you need help aiming.
Second, how the hell did you get past all those goons without being
detected? And third can i have a name to call you by?¨
Louis looks at him. “Um, just call me, um, Call me ScrewDriver.
And, I can fire a gun, but I have a better idea.” He pulls out his
welding torch. “I can just blind them.”
