Owlpaw was daydreaming during the ceremony and totally missed that he just became the apprentice of the leader. When he realized it, his heart stopped for a moment. Flamestar is my new mentor!, he thought in excitement.
But soon after that, the ceremony was over and everyone went to their dens. Owlpaw decided to do the same and get some good sleep, as he would be starting to train again the next day. The grey tom curled up in his nest in the apprentice's den and fell asleep very quickly.

~Owlpaw woke up on a bright forest clearing. He wasn't used to the cool atmosphere, yet he felt strangely welcome. He took some steps and tasted the air, finding the scent of a rabbit which he soon after found. It was a white rabbit, delicious looking and fat. Owlpaw sneaked closer and caught it easily.~

Ivypaw dreamed of her first lesson, out in the forest; she imagined running through the rivers, learning how to climb a tree. It was incredible.

She dreamed of Crowfeather teaching her how to hunt, and her first catch.

Tigerpaw closed her eyes, and focused on her sister. As she began to drift to sleep, she scented a very faint smell of fungus from the dark forest.

"Nice job knocking me over fox breath" Lilypaw growled lowly, and lashed out at Redclaw. The dark forest warrior yowled as he was hit in the eye by the she cat.

"You're no more than a kit" the tom growled lowly, and knocked Lilypaw over once more.

Tigerpaw found herself on the border of StarClan, and the dark forest. She looked over her shoulder toward the leaf green forest, and sighed. "I have to do this.." She said sheepishly, and looked at the Dark Forest territory ahead of her. "I have to stop Lilypaw from getting hurt" she whispered she then heard an ear piercing yowl from the fighting hollow in the Dark Forest. The cry came from Lilypaw. Almost at once, the tabby apprentice launched herself across the border, and into the Dark Forest.

"I'm disappointed in you, Lilypaw." Shellspeckle sneered. "It seems Sandfeather hasn't trained you as well as everyone thinks so."

Lilypaw growled coldly, and looked at Shellspeckle. She then pushed the warrior off her, and crouched down in defeat. The warrior growled in triumph, and went to finish the job, when the apprentice jumped up and pushes the warrior onto his back by catching him off guard.

"Nice job, Lilypaw" Sandfeather said coolly. She then looked over to Shadowflame.

"Let's see how she deals with more cats though...she wasn't able to defeat Redclaw without playing a kittypet trick" he stated coldly. The medicine cat then nodded, and two other warriors ran into battle.

"I'd like to go next." Shellspeckle told the medicine cat. "I'll show her how a true warriors fights."

Shadowflame nodded, and looked at Lilypaw coldly. Once the apprentice was defeated, she limped back to Sandfeather. Redclaw then nodded to Shellspeckle. "Alright Shellspeckle show us how it's done" Shadowflame said lowly.

Tigerpaw was watching the fight from the bushes of the clearing. She narrowed her eyes, and saw Shellspeckle, and Lilypaw. Shellspeckle is a Dark Forest warrior to!?...ugh what am I going to do now... she thought to herself in fear.

"With pleasure." Shellspeckle purred coldy. He grabbed the already injured Lilypaw by her scruff and threw her into the open. Unsheathing his claws, he lunged at her, jabbing them into her side.

Lilypaw, already weakened by her fight with the Dark Forest warriors, squeaked in pain. She then struggled to fight Shellspeckle. The moves were coming across as clumsy, and slow. She then growled "I won't let you win" she said weakly, and fought back.

Tigerpaw narrowed her eyes, and waited for the right moment to spring in. She crouched down, and closed her eyes. No combat training, but I've seen Flamestar fight before...maybe I just need to trust my instincts to help Lilypaw she thought to herself, and tried to ignore the pain in her stomach.

A squeak woke Ivypaw up from her sweet dream. It was still dark out, and she was somewhat annoyed. If Koipaw is night-playing again, I swear to Starclan I'll scratch her... She thought bitterly, looking around the den. Koipaw was still sleeping. Then... Who was that?

"Brave words for one so young." Shellspeckle sneezed. He picked up the apprentice by the scruff and slammed her down. He repeated the process several time until Lilypaw was weaker. Throwing het aside, he said, "And that, you cats, is how to weaken a poor kitten. Now I'll show what a wartiors does."

Lilypaw flinched as the force of the attack caused her to injure her paw. She then flinched as Shadowflame watched with cold eyes. Tigerpaw then growled lowly, and launched herself from her hiding place. She stood between Shellspeckle, and Lilypaw. Her orange fur was bristled out in anger, and fear, and her golden eyes were filled with hatred, and disbelief. "A StarClan kit" Shadowflame growled, and Sandfeather got to her paws. "Shellspeckle get rid of her" he snarled.

"I'd like to see him try" the inexperienced apprentice said bravely, she looked at her mentor with a cold stare.

Shellspeckle's eyes widened, but not enough to let the other cats see. "Nah, let's not." He said quickly. "She's not worth our time. Jusy chase her out."

A growl came from the other side of the den. Oh. It's Lilypaw, I guess... She thought, rolling her eyes and getting up. Might as well wake her up. Probably having a bad dream or something...

She carefully worked her way over to the other side of the den. What she saw made her gaze in fear; Lilypaw was bloody and beaten. "What happened..." Ivypaw murmured, fur bristling up in alarm.

Sandfeather nodded "if that wimp has seen the fight with Lilypaw. Then it'd be a great punishment to let her take care of her sister" she said coldly, and glanced at Shadowflame.

The medicine cat narrowed his eyes "so be it, but don't expect me to assist you with this wimp. Sandfeather, if Lilypaw survives you need to train her better. Now both of you" he growled, and snarled at the orange apprentice. "Get out of here before I command Sandfeather to kill Lilypaw. After all she'll join the dark forest permemantly if she died now" he said in a mocking tone.

Tigerpaw flinched, and looked at Lilypaw, she then nudged her sister to her paws, and pushed her away from the clearing. She glared at Shellspeckle once more, and helped her sister flee.

Once the apprentices were out of sight, Shadowflame looked at Shellspeckle "follow them. If they're not on their way out of the territory...kill" he said lowly.

"Lilypaw!" Ivypaw nudged her gently. "Wake up! You too, Tigerpaw!" She nudged them. "Come on! I don't know what happened, but I don't like it..."

Tigerpaw ran, and stayed behind Lilypaw. She looked over her shoulder for anyone chasing them. Lilypaw then froze, and looked around as a voice was calling from the shadows. Lilypaw then vanished as she woke up. Tigerpaw sighed in relief, and looked around wildly. She continued to run forward through the dark forest.

"Ivypaw!?" Lilypaw said in confusion, and sat up. Though she was wounded the worst of her wounds weren't deep. She then felt the pain in her paw. "Tigerpaw she needs to wake up" she said in shock, and limped to her sister's nest.

"Sorry! You were yiping in your sleep, and... You're hurt," She whispered, sighing in relief. She turned to Tigerpaw. "Tigerpaw! Wake up!" She hissed, prodding her.

Tiger paw grunted in her sleep, but soon woke up. She left the Dark Forest, and blinked. The memories of seeing Shellspeckle beat up her sister were still fresh in her mind. "Great you're up" Lilypaw sighed in relief.

"Are you alright?" Tigerpaw asked Lilypaw, and sniffed her pelt. She then sighed in relief once she scented the wounds weren't deep. "I'm going to get some cobwebs..I'll be back" she said, and left the den before Ivypaw could ask any questions.
