Shellspeckle curled up in his nest. The sun was falling, and soon he'd be on the Dark Forest.

Lilypaw meowed a goodnight to Tigerpaw, and went to curl up in her nest. She had been told to meet Sandfeather in the Dark Forest not long after the meeting. As the apprentice curled up, she fell asleep almost instantly. Once she woke in the Dark Forest she heard a faint whisper from the shadows as a breeze blew from the border of the fungus filled area "this is not your path" a voice called in a quiet whisper. Lilypaw flicked an ear, and looked around. She then saw Sandfeather waiting nearby.

"You're here" she meowed paying no attention to the wind, or the whisper. "Come on we are about to miss out on today's training lesson...Shadowflame, and Nightflower are waiting" she said coolly and walked away from the border. Lilypaw followed silently.

Shellspeckle awoke in the Dark Forest. Time to act cruelly, he thought in disgust. He didn't like snapping and growling every second, but he couldn't risk the other warriors turning on him.

Lilypaw looked around the path she and Sandfeather walked. She then heard other cats in the clearing ahead of her. "Finally Lilypaw, and Sandfeather are here" Shadowflame growled angrily. Lilypaw glanced at Shadowflame, and blinked.

"Well you were at the meeting too...how would we slip away to get to the training session earlier" Sandfeather hissed at the medicine cat.

"Quiet Sandfeather...we need to train" Nightflower growled "Where's Shellspeckle" she asked lowly.

"I'm sure you'll enjoy your training" Tigerpaw purred.

Ivypaw smiled. "That's good. I was worried. What was the first thing Sandfeather did with you?" She asked, hoping to get a picture of her first lesson.

Tigerpaw thought for a moment. She had rarely left camp before. "It's peaceful, and awesome. Even when you learn our territory like the patterns of your fur. The whole forest might be dry at times, but when you get into the thrill of a hunt, or on a patrol of cats you like there's nothing better" she said softly.

Nightflower looked unconvinced, but nodded "let's begin the training. Lilypaw will fight Redclaw" he said lowly, and nodded to a warrior with red fur, and black claws. The warrior looked at Lilypaw, and pounced at the apprentice. Lilypaw just jumped aside swiftly.

"Get a move on, Lilypaw!" Shellspeckle snarled. "Only kittypets move aside! Real warriors fight!" How could I say that? he thought.

Lilypaw looked over to Shellspeckle in shock, but was soon knocked off her paws by the warrior. She rolled out of the way of the tom before he could pin her down. The apprentice then jumped to her paws, and unbalanced the warrior by knocking him off his paws. "Mouse brain" the warrior hissed, and lashed a paw at the apprentice.

"It is" Tigerpaw replied with a yawn. "I'm going to get some sleep. Night" she said to the other apprentices she then entered her den, and saw Lilypaw had been hurt in her sleep. The young apprentice then froze. StarClan please let me help her she thought to herself as she knew what was going on in her sister's dream.

"Night!" Ivykit replied cheerily, and went to the apprentice den to see new bedding for her, Koipaw, Snakepaw, and Dawnpaw. She purred and curled up with her tail over her muzzle. "Night Koipaw!" She called outside to her friend before falling asleep, not even noticing the faint tang of blood in the air.

Ravenpaw and Crowpaw stood a silent vigil during the night, not saying anything at all.

Koipaw looked at the moon and heard Ivykit. She quickly ran over to the Apprentice's den and laid down. She smelt something horrible, the smell of blood, but shrugged it off. I hope I get mentored well, Koipaw thought before falling to sleep.
