I'm sure you or someone you know has been the victim of Auction Sniping at one time or another while bidding on a Pokémon on the Auction house. It's not only disheartening to the User trying to buy a Pokémon because it takes the fundamentals of an Auction House off the table completely but It's also pure cancer. For myself I legitimately love getting into bidding wars with someone who is also trying to fairly acquire the same thing as me.

Recently I got into a bidding war with another User for a Sandslash which ended at 90k. We all know that's way more then it's worth but I had tons of fun trying to be the one who came out on top. So truly I don't mind at all. I'm sure the Seller will be as happy as a bear in a beehive and I know I will be if I actually win.

Auction Sniping takes this away from people like me whose heart starts racing, palms become sweaty and the tunnel vision kicks in when the fight to win an Auction begins. My suggestion is simple: Color code times for Auctions and remove Count Down timer from public viewing.

1 Day - 12Hrs
6hrs - 3hrs
2hrs - 1hrs

Remove all periods of time above 24hrs(1Day) Anything above that is pointless I rarely see bids on Pokémon going above 1 days time. However people do bid on them I'm not saying it doesn't happen but the list of names on Pokémon above 1days time starts to dwindle.

Only Sellers can see the actual Hrs/Mins/Secs

Buyers get a Random Notification when the Color of an Auction changes. With a Delay sort of like unlocking a New badge, however the time is random and will not be displayed anywhere on site.

Sincerely
-Jane

I dont really support,
i would just like to point out that in real life if you buy items like of Ebay, you can get sniped at any point, it may make you feel upset but thats a thing you just need to get over. Also, When ever i go to auction i always click missing dex entries and look at the ones that are close to ending and thats the ones i would bid on, in some ways the timers in the auctions are quite helpful (not just for sniping).

No support.

I've always been a supporter of auction sniping. I find that it's a good way of allowing even newbie users a fair chance of winning - that is, so long as the pokemon they've tried to bid for is within the range of what they have.

I'm not sure how sniping ruins bidding wars? I'd say it's the central key to bidding wars.

No Support.

I'd like to second what MuddyMudkipz & SilverStar said and add that I personally think Sniping is a fundamental component of the entire Auction process.

I don't think I can reasonably support this.
From my viewpoint (and reading the comments here, it seems quite a few other people think the same thing) sniping is just a part of auctions. I've played other games that revolve heavily around auction houses, and I think it's an important thing to be able to do. Maybe some people don't snipe and find it irritating, but personally I think it's a legitimate strategy to winning an auction. You said that it "takes the fundamentals of an Auction House off the table completely" but based on other auction setups pretty much anywhere, it happens there too, and it's an important part of strategy.

I have no patience for being in a bidding war. I'm sure there are other people are like this so I can see why they'd either over bid to ensure success or just grab it at the last second. I also agree that bidding at the last second helps out newbies

Honestly curious, if you're in a bidding war couldn't the person you're against just "snipe" it at the last second too? Who cares who wins, you still lost... how is it less fun that a different stranger got it?

I'm essentially going to echo what everyone else is saying, but I don't support this. I think it's a nice idea in theory, and I understand the frustration and anxiety when someone swipes at the last second, but I also really love the feeling of winning the auction when it comes that close. It's rewarding, and when it's a Pokemon you really want, you cherish it even more because you almost lost it.

No support. Like SilverStar said, it's a good opportunity for newbies to get some new Pokemon. This is how I got most of my Pokemon as a new player. Also, I find it exhilarating in a way to be 'battling' to get a Pokemon on AH.

Title: Yes

I would be down with not having wasted my time on an auction that just has somebody snipe it with thousands more pokedollars.

I also don't support, if the auctionhouse is only about having tons of dollars to win the auction, only riches would stand a chance. the sniping adds the luck feature, if you're fast and lucky enough, you may win. I don't care about being sniped, there is always another chance...for me, sniping adds more thrill.

you will not believe the support I will give.
I don't care if it's good for newbies,
IT. HAS. TO. STOP
trust me, I've been sniped a lot and every time i get sniped, the sniper rubs it in and blocks me.

no support, i accept what your reasons are (it can be annoying) but i find sniping fun and useful, in multiple auctions (on and off sight) i've tried to snipe only to find someone snipe me and its just fun.
if the sniper rubs it in they're just bad people and should be blocked, sniping also can be an adrenaline rush without wasting thousands of dollars.

it takes a level of skill as well, timing your bid so its as late as possible and waiting anxiously to see if someone snipes you.

I highly doubt /every/ single sniper rubs it in, because I sure as heck don't.

That aside, absolute no support, it is not an auction, if you don't have last minute bidders, the whole point of the auction is to lowplay until the very last second & snag it last second, to guarantee the smallest priced paid for a pokemon/item.
if you're paying a price higher than what the actual pokemon is worth, then yeah, you will lose money, because that isn't how you auction snipe, at all.

If people are wanting auctions with timers on them, might i suggest setting up a thread for you guys to sell your pokemon through there instead of doing it through the actual auctions? like through your own shops you set up or something.
I know some sites do this, and are pretty successful, whiles still having their regular on-site auctions.

but yeah, no support.

No support, you have the same opportunity to snipe it as well.
Sorry it may seen unfair to you but it's perfectly fair. It can suck when it happens but you get over it and wait for the next one. Remember that this is just a game, it doesn't really matter in real life.

If you are getting that worked up over the Auction house that you are getting tunnel vision...you may want to stay out of there for while. (to clarify, this line is me just teasing, bidding wars are fun^^)

No support ... auction is auction and the highest offer wins ... this is the meaning of an auction. And this sniping makes a auction exiting :3
