I recently caught a random Shiny Vivillon (Archipelago) while chaining Vivillon (Ocean). In the excitement of catching a Shiny, I accidentally clicked release instead of claim...

This suggestion is about AT LEAST adding a confirmation box before releasing the caught pokemon (I checked, they don't have a confirmation and once you press release, the pokemon is gone).

The second part of the suggestion is to make it possible for us to recover the pokemon we might have released from the Safari caught list. It could be integrated in the recover pokemon tool at Bill's house. Or if not having a Pokemon ID makes that difficult, a new recovery system should be set up for safari at least. It could have as less as the last 10 pokemon released by you. The charges could be same as the pokemon recovery charges (Paying 10k is much more preferred than losing a shiny butterfly)

It is really heartbreaking and discouraging to lose a pretty high chain AND a shiny because of a mis-click. And while, most of the fault was mine, I'd really like for this suggestion to be implemented so it doesn't happen again

Supporting this suggestion on mons that are only shiny or an egg. When a mon is shiny or an egg, there should at least be a confirmation if u want to release it (same goes for mons in fishing boxes).

However, if the mon is just normal, i think there should be no confirmation needed. Its quite tiring having to release then confirm the mon everytime u want to clear ur safari storage.

It would be nice if we can mass release by having a tick box instead of releasing one at a time.

Then we can have a confirmation box asking you if your sure about releasing all the ones you selected.

@razpberry - Agreed that having a pop up box for each release would be annoying. Joyfuldoggy's mass release + confirmation idea is kinda a good alternative while still implementing the confirm box

I support this while agree with ~raspberry, please no hit box for every single pokemon.
That would be annoying and lead to just click and accept, click and accept. What was the reason why user still released pkmn they won't release before we got the recovery tool.
I think getting a tick box can cause the same accidently releasing, as it does now and would only work with a recovery tool.

Over all, a good idea. I prefer just a pop up box for shinies, not more, but everyone can have their own opinion. :)
