Leaning against his seat and looking out the carriage window Jing Yu sighs, strangely reminiscing.
"Silence after so long! Ah.. time has flew by quickly hasn't it meimei?"
Liyu didn't really know what to say. Even with her own brother, conversation was difficult. It was one of those things of the past she'd somehow lost along the way, trading it for her grades and acceptable reputation.

Still, the proposal was moving and she thought it would be rude not to offer something in return for their courtesy. "I might have a few other herbs or flowers that you could experiment with, if you're interested?"

Perhaps through the years, as their own schedules overcrowded, and they started talking less and less, Jing Yu grew scared.
Scared of being left behind.
At first it was just a tiny little bud.
It was when they had their debutante together when he discovered this bud. Back then he wondered as he saw his sister's retreating back as he was surrounded by other nobles, since when did his shy little sister who smiled so brightly at him became so dim?
When did all the unfamiliar faces of smiling nobles around him started to suffocate him?
Jing Yu smiled wryly as he leaned against the window pane gazing out into the field.
The little bud continued to grow, until is wrapped around his heart slowly contracting itself. It didn't hurt, but the dull, blunt fear had always been in the back of his mind.
He clenched his fist.
The very least he should do as the elder brother was to support the family, and that included Li Yu too!
Fear? What fear? He'll deal with that later!
"Ah look! Meimei it seems like we're almost there!"
Once in a while, her mind would flicker back to her studies that day.
Why wasn't she studying?
She was spending time with Jing Yu.
Was that really more important than work?
Did she really have time to waste?
No, being with Jing Yu wasn't wasting time.
Right?
So they spent the trip in silence, the night slowly growing darker outside.

Her steps were gentle as the breeze that rippled through the air, bringing with it a swarm of butterflies, one of which landed on Jing Yu’s head.
It was her way of trying.

A blanket rested over her lap, a prosthetic taking place of her right arm.
"...It's getting dark."
She muttered, hand running through short black hair.
"...I'll be there by tomorrow..."
kendo was having a great time. He was just shooed out by Mona, so he'd taken some time to just... wander. Take a walk.

Adara meanwhile isn't sleeping yet. She was outside, sitting on a bench deep in thought. Her thoughtful rumbling sounds like a mix of "hmm" sounds and termites eating through wood... she doesn't even notice people passing by.
You know the first rule in combat? shoot them before they shoot you.
But did they ever need words between them to understand?
After Jing Yu escorted Li Yu off the carriage, they entered the restaurant. Immediately they were seated to a table and were handed a menu.
Jing Yu flipped through them mindlessly, mainly just looking at the pictures looking for anything delicious.
"Anything ya want meimei? Just say the word, it's on your ge tonight!"
This was a long trip. It always was. She was making her way from her Aunt Angelica’s house, after all, and that was the seaside. She let out a quiet sigh.
She knew she had chosen to take this trip, but, man, was it long. Her wheelchair was in the storage, so she couldn’t move properly either.
But… She probably wouldn’t have a chance to visit after this. She wanted to meet her big brother’s friends.
Kendo leaned against the wall, in some stashed away corner of the castle, sighing as he fished a letter out of his pocket.
From: Angelica Thatcher
To: Kendo Satou
He sighed.
To my favorite nephew-
Just a reminder that your sister’s arriving tomorrow. Keep her out of trouble, okay? And take care of Trixie- Lathiel has been ever so worried. Come home right away when you’re done. I’ve instructed the coachman to wait until after your graduation. I’ve seen the pictures you’ve sent- every day you grow more like your mother. I love you. I’ll see you next week.
-Your loving Aunt.

It had been so long since she'd cared about what she was eating, or even if she was eating. So long as she could get through the day without fainting.
A small light sponge cake caught her eye, and she tentatively pointed at it.

"Even after all these years, your sweet tooth never changes ey?"
It comforts him that at least one trait stayed the same. It made that retreating back in his nightmares just slightly less scary with that thought. At least his sister was still his sister, and that never changes.
They were still familiar.
In turn, Jing Yu calls the waiter over to take their order, he made sure the first thing he ordered was the cake, and the proceeds to place some more nutritional items. After all the whole point of being out was to get her fed.
"goodness, where should we even begin? Sweet? Mild? Fruity? Floral? Bitter? There are just too many to choose from!" The excitement and rambling of the larger creature threw Kae off, as Haon's, especially Pur, were known to be quiet, calm, and unsocial. They stood with the same little smile, gingerly brushing a crumb or two off their skirt. "I have the tea leaves in my dormitory room," They explained, pushing the chair back into the table. "I would love to get your thoughts and insight on some combinations!"
