They were terrifying, really. Bipedal. They had thick, yellowish black scales, forming some sort of armor around their body. They had two pairs of arms, yet thankfully only wielded a single spear each. Their faces looked like a distorted bull, and they had twisted, gnarly horns that branched like a tree, yet were as sharp as a knife. Their feet were cloven. As the party drew near, the temperature grew hotter, and hotter. They seemed to be investigating… something. But it was indiscernible from this distance.
“Oh… wow…” Yawen couldnt think of anything else to say.
”Mysterious… surprising… and law-defying… Isn’t that right?”
Val could still see everyone, but he was somewhat ahead of the. The monsters had fiery auras and the air was hot and stuffy. He fanned himself, he was the fire element, which wasn’t effective against enemies of his own element. He got down from the tree and blended into the shadows of some trees around him, hopefully, no one saw.
She nodded in agreement to Crispe's theory. "Seems like it's either that, or the monsters are attracted by whatever the source of the heat is," she theorized, keeping her voice low. "I dunno what it is they're doing, but it seems like they're distracted, and I'd hate to lose the element of surprise." She gripped her spear more tightly, trying to hide her nerves.
But since when as he let those little worries stop him from doing what he wants?
Well, maybe sometimes. But in this situation, that isn't the case. Something as simple as what element he specializes, definitely isn't something that can stop him from doing his job.
Ayran stretched his shoulders and patted Soliana in the hand with a grin. "Hey, don't be afraid Lil Missy. Just as you said, we are pretty strong and so are you."
Ofcourse the number of Bipedals were more than he expected, but it wasn't anything they couldn't handle.
"Oh please, don't just stand there with your mouth gaping open like that Miss Yawen. Who knows, if you keep it open like that, a fly would get in."
Ayran joked, but he was serious, now isn't the time to just stand around.

Honestly, Ayran thought that from their encounter and conversation earlier, they got along just well, but now.. how has the tables turned against him.. for what? telling a joke? Ayran furrowed his eyebrows, and his lips quirked downwards into a frown. He knew he could be tactless at times, and it wasn't uncommon for his tactlessness to scare away his customers. But nevertheless, it didn't didn't give him a good feeling.
Speaking of the monsters! They had definitely heard the group. They drew their spears, preparing for an attack. Joining them, from who knows where, was two… crystal looking bat creatures? Who cared about that. It was time to fight!

Val saw everyone prepare to fight, but then a golden butterfly approached him "What the-" he was caught off guard, managing to stay in the shadows, he shut his mouth and summoned his fiery phoenix to be pretty much 0 help.
(Soliana puts her hand together like when you go to the artifact screen for a character)
