You know the first rule in combat? shoot them before they shoot you.
Eris was beside herself at this point. This was an utter disaster! No one was following due process, the garden was being ravaged, and the 'tour guide' was MIA! What in stars' name was going on?!?
Marina hummed as she watched the chaos unfold.
Literally.
He'd broken open a bottle of wind, quite accidentally, which had been peacefully residing on a wooden shelf.
He'd also broken the china teaset and crystal dragon.
Along with the golden crest of the royal family.
Now the wind pushed him from behind, the pieces of the teaset, dragon and crest twirling madly in its miniture tornado.
They occasionally crashed into eachother or the walls and shattered into even more fragments.
Unfortunately for the poor tour guide, his invisibility potion didn't apply to this indoor storm he'd created.
The clashing, banging, and breaking were very much audible.
The damage and storm were very much visible.
The guards very much could see and hear.
Soon, the alarm was sounded.
The palace was placed on lockdown.
A hoard of guards gathered to stop the mysterious clumsy intruder.
The intruder proved elusive.
Apparently the potion did its job well.
Chris knew he was in trouble.
He needed to do his job and get out of here.
HIS exact words were, "Get the princess. Leave the people. Succeed in five days. Or die."
This was his last day to complete the order.
Suddenly, a beautiful figure appeared in front of him.
Pale blonde hair, long and smooth.
Snowy white wings, sparkling with silver.
Eyes of the lightest, most delicate blue.
The princess.
It was at this fateful moment that the guards realised something was wrong with the garden.

With a gasp, Eris covered her ears to save them a little from the blaring alarms. Oh stars! What was going on?!? Did it have something to do with their tour guide vanishing?!? Was the tour guide actually a bad guy!?! Oh no oh no oh no!!!
Marina yelped in pain as the alarms blared in the Crystal Castle. Grabbing her ears, she squinted to try to figure out where the source of the trouble was coming. She yowled to the other group members. "What's going on?!?"
Spell detectors in hand.
Scanning every nook and cranny.
So far the potion had held.
So far.
Chris's heart beat quicker.
The princess was even prettier than he'd imagined!
She was the most perfect being alive.
And to think he was here to kidnap her.
He couldn't, could he?
But it was his life on the line after all.
And Chris was no hero.
A rope lashed out.
She saw it.
She didn't move.
It caught her wings.
It wrapped itself around her.
Then a gust of wind pushed her into an open portal.
So there was someone after all.
The potion was wearing off.

"Would you like to make a deal, Sir Chris?"
Mercader.
His dark cloak swirled behind him, his ruby-colored hair flowing in the wind.
"You seem to be in a spot of trouble, no?"
When had that scythe appeared? And how did he see right through Chris?
wickedness?
Or is it
weakness?
You decide.
