No characters may speak at night. Night will end once all characters complete their night actions.
"Welcome to our lovely Ōmagatoki game, my dear participants!" A disembodied voice spoke.
"As you may or may not know, dear humans, you have just been abducted to the Otherworld, where us Kami, Yōkai, and other mythical creatures live! Looks like some particularly nasty yōkai had a bone to pick with you, since you've just been kidnapped by them here."
An awkward silence ensued for the following four seconds.
"Ahem! Sorry, this is my first time doing this. I'm sure you're all in great distress right now, so please remain in the housing provided. Anyways, what you've been pulled into- or signed up for, if you're a yōkai, is a game where us Kami watch you suffer as you die one by one! Just kidding, it's what the yōkai asked us to host, eheh."
"So, I'll list eveyone's roles. Or profession. Or species. We call them roles here."
"...We have 3 Civilians, 1 Rokurokubi, 1 Oracle, 1 Miko, and 1 Komainu for the Human-aligned roles, and 1 Jorōgumo, 1 Kitsune, and the mastermind of it all, the Kishin, for the Yōkai-aligned roles."
The disembodied voice paused for a brief moment.
"Of course, we also let one of our Kami join. This really is shaping up to be quite the event for the spectators! I mean, the yōkai. There are no spectators."
"You must be wondering how to escape, if you are a human. The objective is simple- at daytime, you will be able to vote to condemn one of the other players to the Extermination Chamber. But vote wisely, for the yōkai will pose as fellow humans!
For the yōkai, however, they are able to kill one Human at night if the Kishin is alive, and they win when the amount of yōkai are greater than or equal to the amount of humans.
One more thing, the Kami can visit a player at night, and they will win with whoever they visited last."
The disembodied voice sighed lightly. "My dearest participants, that should be all! I wish you all luck in your future!"
Artemis looked around awkwardly, brushing the dust off of his suit.
"This... is not Zach's birthday party. Where am I?"
he looked up to the sky.
"Excuse me? Mr. Disembodied voice? What do you mean, 'yokai' world?"
wickedness?
Or is it
weakness?
You decide.

"Rise and shine, my lovely participants! I hope you got a good night's sleep!" The disembodied voice said excitedly.
"I can't wait to see how this unfolds! Eheh..."
"I forgot to mention, but there were no deaths tonight! Eheheh..."
Where was she? Why was she here? Was she just another pawn of the machinations of the Kami? She eyed the other people in the compound suspiciously. Some of them were killers.

But even then, he didn't want to die, it wasn't time yet. He still has things that he needed to do, people that he needed to find. He couldn't stop here, just because he was unlucky enough to be dragged into someone's game.
Lucian Arbred's POV
The Yokai world. Somehow, that sounded faintly familiar to Lucian. Like a distant memory.
He wasn't quite sure what to do first here. He slightly tugged at his scarf, in an attempt to keep his hands occupied. He withdrew a few breaths, and closed his eyes deep in thought.
What would everyone be like here? In this situation? How would this all end?...
The important thing, would of course, be to be aware of his surroundings. To never find himself alone. And then everything would unfold properly from there.
He would make himself aware of the people here, and get to the bottom of all this.
Everything will be alright. Somehow.
Although, it was always a good reassurance to have a weapon handy...
Lucian hated weapons. What they were used for, what they were capable of... They made him shiver at the sight of them. But... Often, they were necessary.

Ah yes, suddenly waking up and finding yourself in a completely different world involving loads of trickery, lies, and murder? Count. Mei. In.
The mop of purple hair that draped over her lavender eyes as the laid-out frame of Mei Akamatsu sat there was swept aside upon her awakening. This was... odd, but the disembodied voice gave her enough info that she didn't question it. Besides, as soon as murder was mentioned, she was already strapped in for the ride. Who cares if she was a potential victim for the yokai or whoever the people-eating thing the voice mentioned was, this sounded like too much of an amazing opportunity to just sulk and do absolutely nothing like the red-eyed guy she spotted.
She got up with a start, stretching with a mischievous grin plastered on her face as she looked over at each and every one of the participants she had been stuck here with, then did absolutely nothing else. Interesting how no one was dead yet, that kinda sucked. Mei would've loved to see the chaos that unfolded as a result of someone's demise.
...Oh right, this probably wasn't the best place for someone as sick in the head as her to be in, especially considering the details of the game. Her enthusiasm for chaos and the like was already enough to probably put her on a list from her search history alone, so these circumstances... Were less than ideal for her, to say the least.
Anyways, enough filler, Mei simply decided to let her eyes roam around and observe anyone to check for suspicious behavior.
"So. Hello. I'm Paiyoon. Does anyone have any information on our... unique situation?"

Setsuna Jun
Setsuna was rapidly beginning to regret bringing his winter jacket. He didn't know the place was supposed to be temperate! He hadn't left his mom's basement in years.
His future friends frolicked around him, talking and joking like there was no tomorrow.
And there he stood, in a stupid winter coat, hair slicked down, looking like a weird villain character in a racially insensitive mafia anime.
He sighed.
Did anyone want to make a trade...?

All characters may speak during the day. They may also choose to condemn a character to the Extermination Room.
"Ahem! May I get everyone's attention, please?" The intangible voice called out.
"I'm not sure if I made this clear or not, but see the raised podium over there? That's where you can cast your vote on who you think should be sent to the Extermination Chamber to be neutralized, or, in simple terms, kill! The majority wins, so once a person gets voted by 6 or more people, they will be automatically sent!"
"I apologize, but it's time for me to go. I have some horse races to attend, heh. And you don't get to come."
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Mei looked over at the girl who first spoke up, tilting her head to the side as she lifted her chin up with a grin. "Pfft, how the hell are we supposed to know, huh? Read the room, we're just as clueless as you are," Mei teased, before quietly adding onto it by muttering under her breath. "Thank god we're not as braindead..."
[ After the almighty disembodied voice hath spoken ]
Mei groaned upon hearing about the voting system, but glanced over curiously at said podiums. "...Horse racing? Seriously?" She began to laugh, slowing down to catch her breath. Speaking of breath, as always, she had something more... crude to say under her breath. "Heh, you sure do sound like you'd be into that BS, it's almost as boring as you."
Setsuna Jun
For some reason, the idea of a creepy disembodied voice calling down suffering upon him gave Setsuna fourth wall breaking deja vu. Roleplayers sucked, man. They were always out to get you.
"U-Um- okay. So we're voting to kill people? I vote no one. I don't want anyone dead..." He twisted hair around his finger nervously.
Was this a game? Was he taking it too seriously? Should he have not left his mom's basement?
He coughed.
"Well uh, anyway- I vote no kill. Unless it's funny, then I vote the purple haired girl because my roleplayer has a vendetta against her."
Lucian Arbred's POV
He heard someone speaking. She said her name was Paiyoon.
He smiled and slowly walked over to her, sticking his hand out for a handshake.
"...Lucian Arbred. I'm afraid not. I'm sorry."
As he sighed, and pulled his trusty notepad out of his pocket, that question seemed to glare at him ever further, like that of the sun on an especially hot day.
"...it's a good question," he murmured thoughtfully. It almost made him shudder. The idea that someone knew how they got here.
And then, he heard the announcement, and his shoulders tensed up.
Lucian nervously tugged at his hair, as he withdrew breath after breath, slowly letting his shoulders make their way back to normal elevation. "...oh."
We have to... Vote to kill someone? But why? Why would this be necessary?
...
No one should be killed.
It was horrific, really. The things human beings killed over. Sometimes it was money, or it was power, or it was in the name of love. Bitterness, jealousy, maybe in some cases, it was self-defense. Some might even do it for fun.
He shook his head. This was bad...
He bit his lips uncomfortably, and crossed his arms, tugging ever so slightly at his scarf. "...we have to kill? Why?"
That was the first thing he wanted to know.
The second thing was... Was it possible to choose not to kill anyone?
But then... Lucian remembered.
"...extermination. so they don't hurt others." Either way, the words still tasted bitter as they slipped from his mouth. Why should someone else have to die so they all could continue living? Were there really killers among them?
Have you learned NOTHING from all you've been through, Luke? ANYONE can be a killer. Don't be so naïve.
Lucian inhaled sharply.
...go away.
It'd be alright. They'd all figure this out... Somehow.
"...voting someone... Should we really do it?"
Lucian stared over in alarm at the purple-haired girl who had spoken. He grimaced. "Hey, hey. How was she supposed to know we were clueless too?" he asked her. He responded without annoyance, or anger, or irritation. Although, of course, he was slightly upset.
After all, there was no reason to react like that.
He blinked rapidly, as the girl began to laugh about the... Horse racing.
Such an odd and unstable person...
"...um, sorry. We haven't been introduced. Have we? I'm Lucian."
He tried offering her a friendly smile. "...and you are?"
...what was that boy going on about? A roleplayer? No. No one was voting anyone.
He did agree with him that no one should have to die though. This whole situation was so messed up... Honestly, did any of them really have to vote? Couldn't they... Not? Or try to escape this place?
...the idea of there being killers... Still loomed in the air.
To be completely honest, Artemis didn't have a moral problem with it. That sounded bad, but deaths were required to further life. That was a historically proven fact.
The only problem was, that he knew none of these people, and could not judge their actions from an objective point of view.
Yet.
wickedness?
Or is it
weakness?
You decide.
Ok, that was stupid thinking. Of course something had to go wrong for life to be fun. She might as well make the best of the situation. But voting off someone without getting to know everyone first? Not happening.
"HEY! EVERYONE! HOW ABOUT A QUICK ICEBREAKER! I'D REALLY LOVE TO MEET ALL OF YOU BEFORE SOMEONE DIES! IF YOU WOULD ALL COOPERATE, THAT WOULD BE REALLY HELPFUL! THANKS!"
Let me tell you a secret,
The real monsters don't look like monsters~

"So uh I forgot to mention this but the only way to not condemn someone during the day would be to tie a vote and we have an odd number of participants anyways bye I have some bets to make." The disembodied voice yelled out.
Gosh, that was unprofessional.
Lucian Arbred's POV
Wow.
This was GREAT news.
They HAD TO kill someone!
He blinked. That one girl seemed... Strangely optimistic. Lucian winced, his heart pounding.
They might not have time to all get to know each other.
"...I guess we somehow have to figure out who the Yokai are here... But how?"
