my favorite is pokemon unite! i like the non pay to win aspect of it, the fact its free to download, and that it has a competitive environment against real players as well

Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon. There’s no nostalgia affecting it, I just love the fact that HMs don’t exist, all TMs are infinitely reusable, and they were the last games where you could actually obtain ALL Pokémon in existence. I also loved the Ultra Wormhole. My only gripes are that the Battle Agency (which would otherwise be a very fun feature) doesn’t let your Pokémon increase in level as your opponents’ do and makes you rely on having often connected to WiFi to have a chance at having partners of a high enough level, and the final leg of the Mantine Surfing competition that you have to do to get the surfing Pikachu is unwinnable. Also, the music of one area (only ONE area) REALLY annoys me.

Title: Gen 1, 2 and 3

I've been a pokemon nut since I was a little girl. That's right, can't choose one alone but I will say the first 3 generations will remain my favorite of all time.

I was 7 years old when Pokemon Red first came out in the united states. It was a couple weeks after my birthday, and I'd gotten it as a late present. Video games were not something much tolerated in my home by my step father, so prior to this I'd spend countless nights reading by night light.

I can still recall countless nights I spent after getting Red, and later my first gameboy light. When I was not using my gameboy light to read under my covers, I would be playing pokemon under my blankets hahah.

Gen 1 was so hard! Catch rates were much lower on pokemon, the amount of pokemon that would break out of the balls, oh my goodness. But the pure SATISFACTION when you FINALLY caught that pokemon you wanted! I eventually got yellow a couple years later. Was actually sad when the main focus went from the three starters to strictly pikachu. Raichu was my favorite from then on out. The puzzles... we did not have much in the way of "walkthroughs" internet wise, heck internet was still just becoming a thing. It was a luxury item, internet was. And when we finally got it, so slow, and there was still many limitations. I did not get my first pokemon guidebook until sometime after yellow came out. Finally could get to Articuno, my then favorite legendary. Catching it... well.. that took longer lol.

Ohhh when gen 2 came out... I was just so happy! Cyndiquil became my favorite starter (before that it was bulbasaur and charmander). I remember how exciting it was! Night and day? Pokemon appearing at different times a day? I was like a kid in a candy store. Day care? Breeding? SHINIES?! My first ever encounter with a shiny was super late at night. I was exhausted, but then encountered a growlith. I did not know what a shiny was at the time, so when I saw that golden growlithe I panicked. Oh no... this is special... it has stars... it is a different color... what if it uses roar? I was completely unprepared. I'd been leveling my pokemon, had no one with mean look, or sleep powder. Got the growlithe in the red... and it used road. Ahhh I was crushed XD Bug catching contest? You bet I partook every time! Until I was winning first place every week no sweat. Suicune was my favorite legendary, followed closely by Raikou and Lugia.

Gen 3's release had me so happy. I was 15 years old when emerald came out. I saved and saved and was SO happy when I finally had enough for my new handheld and emerald. Torchic and Mudkip, Treeko too! I loved them all and eventually traded with my friends until I had all three. Absol, Milotic, Rayquaza and Kyogre became very quick favorites during my playtimes. (I had a whole team of Absol, and another of Mightyena xD) I remember how thrilled I was to FINALLY catch a female feebas... only to realize it would take so dang long to max her beauty. lmao. When I did finally get that Milotic, ohhh she stayed a permanent part of my main team lol.

So yeah. That is my rant on favorite pokemon games xD Still a pokemon nerd at 33 years old haha. Ahh yes and you can bet both my kids love pokemon as much as I do too! So fun to nerd out with them!

I like Pokémon black/white 2 as they are decently challenging games to Nuzlocke and the story is top quality in my opinion. I also like the Pokémon available in the game

Darn, that's a toughie, so I'd have to split it in two: spin-offs and mainline.

If it's spin-off-wise, it's either a debate between PMD Rescue Team and PMD Explorers. Mainline-wise, that title goes to Pokémon Black/White. I really like story-driven games that don't feel like a slug. Yeah, talking to you, S/M and PSMD. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike them at all--in fact, Super sits among my favorites, but their pacings aren't precisely the most alluring aspect of both titles, besides some gameplay decisions I'm not too fond of.

Maybe I'm biased because of my nostalgia goggles, mostly when it comes to Rescue Team, as it was my first Pokémon game (and one of my first games overall), but the two first installments to PMD were a new slate for some narrative freedom that was compromised by the mainline's settings and formula. In that same vein, Gen 5 of Pokémon did manage to turn the tides on that same formula, both in gameplay and story.

One I'd really mention is Pokémon Colosseum (haven't played XD yet), not because of story as that one is truly wack but because it gave a good spin on traditional gameplay, and boy it is tough with species' availability and some questionable yet fun NPC teambuilding choices.

O U T D A T E D

Might work on it sometime soon, hehe.

Hi guys! I would have to say my favorite pokemon game would have to be either platinum or emerald. Emerald because it was the first one I ever played and platinum because Lucario is my favorite mon.

between GBA: Pokémon Crystal and NintendoDS: Pokémon Diamond
both were very good

all of the gen 4 games and PMD EOS, i have nostalgia for the first one but i've only played PMD recently since the series didn't appeal to me at first, but man the story

you know it's a good game when you don't have those nostalgia lenses, but still love it anyways
