Yeah, title kinda explains it all, hehe.
What is PH's users' favorite RPG videogames? JRPG, WRPG, any sub-genre... Anything applies, really!

Personally, I've been far too fond of dungeon crawlers since I was a child thanks to PMD series. I've been replaying PMD Rescue Team Blue (og DS title), and had a blast.
As of lately, I also remembered the Golden Sun series, and been listening to Dark Dawn's OST. Some say DD's (and the entire series' composer, Motoi Sakuraba) lost his flair on this particular game, but I can't find that to be true with the battle themes! They're stuck on my head.

Dunno if this has been made to some extent before, or if this already overlaps an already existing but long-inactive thread (I made sure to look up at least a little bit before deciding to type this), so I thought I could do a little game while I'm bored.

Give a silly name to this Pokémon!

Rules are the following!

Show hidden content

- To begin, I will post a picture of a Pokémon alongside its name.
The next user will answer by giving a silly (nick)name to it, then post a picture of another Pokémon alongside its name, then let the next user answer to it and pick another Pokémon.
This process will be repeated so on and so forth.
(Please keep in mind PokéHeroes's rules, so no swearing/inappropiate language!)

- Any picture that clearly depicts said Pokémon is allowed for use in this thread, as long as it doesn't come from a "shady" source, or is bad in itself. Preferably, use official artwork for it--doesn't matter if it's an older official depiction (i.e. the original 151 Sugimori artwork from Gen I's timelapse), or sprites. If anything, that will give more fuel for thought!

- Any officially-displayed new Pokémon counts! I trust participants are mindful enough to avoid using any sort of leak/unofficial information, given the current times being just prior to Gen IX entry games' release, which demands caution. Do not mind this rule time after the games are out, of course. ... At least until the next generation arrives in a couple years.

- Be creative, of course! Try to not use the same answer as someone else when (nick)naming a Pokémon, unless you truly believe it is fitting for the Pokémon above you.

And last, but never least:
- Have fun! The only bad way to play is to not have fun!

Since this one's kinda bumping back to life, might as well give it a go, hehe.

As of the time I write this, the name's Nephew. I drew inspiration of two factors: one, Uncle Dane, a professional Team Fortress 2 player and a main Engineer class. I chose to study Electronics Engineering because of my love for all kinds of gadgets (despite the fact I tend to accidentally destroy them with ease, oops), and since I was an active main Engineer in TF2 back in the day as well, "Nephew ~~Dank~~" became my Steam tag for a long while, hence my current username here.

Darn, that's a toughie, so I'd have to split it in two: spin-offs and mainline.

If it's spin-off-wise, it's either a debate between PMD Rescue Team and PMD Explorers. Mainline-wise, that title goes to Pokémon Black/White. I really like story-driven games that don't feel like a slug. Yeah, talking to you, S/M and PSMD. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike them at all--in fact, Super sits among my favorites, but their pacings aren't precisely the most alluring aspect of both titles, besides some gameplay decisions I'm not too fond of.

Maybe I'm biased because of my nostalgia goggles, mostly when it comes to Rescue Team, as it was my first Pokémon game (and one of my first games overall), but the two first installments to PMD were a new slate for some narrative freedom that was compromised by the mainline's settings and formula. In that same vein, Gen 5 of Pokémon did manage to turn the tides on that same formula, both in gameplay and story.

One I'd really mention is Pokémon Colosseum (haven't played XD yet), not because of story as that one is truly wack but because it gave a good spin on traditional gameplay, and boy it is tough with species' availability and some questionable yet fun NPC teambuilding choices.

It would be nice to interact with your Pokémon; also, a good stats raising method and an alternate way to evolve Pokémon that require Happiness to evolve.

I know, there's the Soothe Bell, but you would normally have to buy it, so you could have both the Soothe Bell, fast way to evolve but spending PD, and the Pokémon Refresher, slow yet free way to evolve, plus factors like Playground for evolving Sylveon (for those who haven't unlocked it yet).

imo it's intriguing so I support it.
