DD lost her smile. Shoot... She bowed her head, contemplating the question. "Because..." She began, raising her head to reveal tears running down her face. "I've been going through the same thing ever since I took up this crown."

Jeremiah and Lottie looked at each other, frowning. Their girlfriends didn't deserve this..."We'll give you some time so you two can talk it out." Junko said sadly and the others left. Jackie sat on her bed, and patted a spot next to her, telling DD to sit with her.

DD nodded, but decided to try. "Even when I was a little girl, I...had these voices in my head. They were mostly quiet at that age. Sure they got a little louder when the bullying was beginning, but still possible to ignore. Then...came the day it all changed."

DD could see the realization in Jackie's wide eyes and sighed. She stood from the bed, turned to Jackie, and gave a curtsy. "I am Darling Desire, Queen of Chess and Executions." She stood up from her curtsy and gave a wry smile. "Not every day you learn your friend is a monster, huh?"

DD nodded. "That's why there's so many. No one suspected me, even with evidence from a witness." She looked down at her hands. "So many lives, gone with a snap of my fingers or a single command. And worse yet, it wasn't for a cause, like a longing for freedom or a search for justice." Her hands shook a little and her breathing became a bit heavy.

DD's eyes moved about rapidly, not seeing the world around her. She could hear Jackie, and tried to calm herself, tried to fight the urge to scream or laugh. She held her head in her hands, shaking slightly.
