So, today, someone posted a link in a group chat, and upon clicking on it, the clicker will adopt a egg from the lab. One of my friends clicked on the link, and adopted an egg, and as he is on a hunt, will get his chain broken as he cannot afford an extra egg storage. Is the sender at fault here?

I think so. But the user who clicked that link must have asked the sender what it was rather than clicking on the link immediately

The Clicker and sender are at fault here!

And one more thing, I believe that an egg storage costsonly 75k[?]

I believe that it isn't the senders Fault, But the One who clicked the Link as He clicked on the Link Himself and the sender cannot be blamed for the one who adopted the eggs actions. But the sender should have given a Warning about where the Link lead to. Therefore Both are at fault

the clciker should have been careful and instead of clicking on it without thinking, he/she should have asked the sender about the link or inspected it.according to site rules, the sender has not violated any rule...the clicker should be careful in future

It is both of their faults, if the sender said:
DONT CLICK HERE, WARNING, DON"T CLICK
then its the clickers' fault

In a way, yes. They should have posted after that, or along with it, that it would break chains. However, it may have slipped his/her mind at that point of time, or they simply don’t know about this whole chain breaking thing

But then again, what was the formatting of the post

Context matters here.

If the link sender sent the link with the group's general understanding that it is an adopt link, then the clicker simply made a goof.

However, if the link sender claimed it was something else (said it was something else or someone asked for a link to another page and the sender sent that link instead), then the sender was definitely acting really scummy. Depending on who the group members are (friends), I wouldn't blame the clicker for trusting the sender. In this case, the sender may violate Rule 1.1 (not being friendly and deliberately causing trouble for other users).

If it's the latter case, your friend might wanna seek a moderator's opinion on this (report it?) and provide them with the full context of how this took place.
