My idea is short but sweet in the Union Room you could look down and see...

Todays Birthdays

When you click on this, a list of players comes up and next to each It says "Click to say Happy Birthday" Or just have an image. When you click this it will send them a PM but instead of having the mail symbol it could have cake or a party hat when you click on it it shows everyone who wished you a happy birthday :D

Update

Some people have suggested hiding your birthday from the list if you don't want others to see it and I believe that this is a great idea!

And as for people with fake birthdays you could just ignore them :)

It's a nice idea, but there's always a problem with this: Users don't always put their real birthday dates.

Yes it would be cool and all, But like Mirej said, lots of people fake there birthdays. so it would be cool but no support for reasons already started.

Hmm, yeah, it is a nice idea, but there are people who would rather that other people wouldn't know when their birthday is, so perhaps an option to keep yourself off the list? That way people who say fake birthdays could take themselves off the list if they want, and if they want to stay on the list, well, I don't really see any harm in that person celebrating their birthday on a different day... after all, it would still only be once a year.

No support. I don't know about others, but I don't want my birthday put in public. This is probably the paranoia of many people, when they decide to put a fake birthday.

I support, I've seen this on another site where in the forums it has a bottom section saying "Birthdays" or something like that. It's just a fun way to announce people's birthdays and can promote people being social and say "Happy Birthday" so people don't have to feel like they have to self promote their own birthday.

However an option to disable this would be nice, like me I don't like my birthday and don't like much attention to it. So for someone like me I'd turn this off or chose to hide my birthday date per say. But since I think I'm I a minority I still think this idea would be nice for all the people who make feeds like "three days until my birthday" or "hey it's my birthday!" So now we can all know when those birthdays are.

Don't support lots put their fake b-days. How are we supposed to know who the fakes are and who aren't? It'd be rude to ignore people because you think their b-day might be fake that'd be everyone on the site because this is the internet .-.

Even with the option to exclude yourself, I still don't support. As mentioned, many people put fake birthdays (Riako said this the best way lol).

Fake birthdays are unfortunate but it's not as if this gives people benefits or rewards. Let's say there are a lot of Birthdays on January 1st, be it from fakers or genuine people with birthdays. So if a bunch of Birthdays are on that date it's not as if everyone would get premium or nuggets on their birthdays, that would only promote fake birthdays.

Just seems like a way for people to see your birthday and wish you a happy one or if you would rather not have that then you could block your date.

I don't see any harm in this suggestion as long as there's an option to not have your name shown on your birthday. I personally would show mine, but I'm sure some wouldn't want to.

How about this: instead of putting the users birthday automatically, how about doing it manually, what I mean is that YOU should be the one to put your birthday in the calendar, atleast this way there wouldn't (I think) be any fake birthday, but if the person doesn't want anyone to know his/her birthday, then they shouldn't put they're birthday in the calendar.

This is what I think though.

Maybe you could instead do your Pokeheroes birthday, a year after you first signed up... I think that's what most sites with this do.
