"Whoa!" Fortem's eyes widened as the boulder trampled down the
hill, and he took a step back. He quickly made a few stone edge
staircases, thankful for all the practice he'd had, and climbed up
one. When the rock was close enough, he leaped out as far as he
could, landing on the solid ground with an audible "uff!"
Fortem was squashed once again. "Thanks," He said, appreciatively,
as the wind whooshed past, ruffling his fur. The lighting singed
his pelt once again, but nothing too serious. "Oh no," Fortem
complained. "All of them at once, maybe!?!?" He braced himself for
upcoming attacks.
"You ok?" It was at times like this where Fortem really wished he
knew a healing move. He pressed his paw in some of the water from
the water jet, and flicked it on a bit of Emerald's fur that had
been singed, extinguishing it. Dodging a falling rock, he tried to
hit the cube with a rock throw, but his rocks were zapped to pieces
by a bolt of lightning. This thing was strong! How long could it
continue?
The pellets were indeed hard to doge, being so small and fast...
Fortem tried to protect everyone by summoning rocks to try and
block the pellets. He leaped behind one of his rocks, then another,
getting a little closer to the... cube thing, and he peered at it
to see if there was a difference. Pellets smothered him, but his
thick fur and rocks kept most away.
Fortem gripped his claws and paws into the earth as the wind
whipped all around him. Maybe he could get to the core before the
wind got too strong? He cast his best splash, sending a streak of
tinted blue water at the unfolded cube.
"Was that...just a warm up?" Emerald said worriedly.
Yung provided support to Ares as he stood there, looking at the
cube.
The wind could be heard all around them, the mountain seemed to
vanish around them. Bathing them in the glow of golden clouds, and
golden light. Something seemed to stir something within
everyone...a positive feeling... Looking at all of the past
adventures, all of the past laughs...the fights...the suffering,
it's all come to a point.
Fortem's fur seemed to glow as he gritted his teeth together and
bared his fangs at the cube, not that it would know... He got ready
for the next attack. "We can do this!" He cried out to the group.
