By now, Spiri had an entire escape plan noted in her brain, and was
confident she'd have a few tricks up her sleeve if her friends were
ever attacked. If they attempted to corner her here, run there as
fast as you can...then try to corner them here...and so on. Spiri
was not opposed to fighting if absolutely necessary, even if they
were fugitives, all this running did not make her weak, and she
wouldn't hesitate to remind any dragon of their fear of the danger
she posed if absolutely necessary. Even if she wanted to make
peace, she also wanted to survive, and she cared about that just a
snige more, so there's that.
Phoenix looked at Eclipse. "But if we fight then the queens will
have even more of a reason to kill us!" She said.
Fireheart heard talking coming from the main cave but there were
still visions flooding his mind. He motioned for Graystrike to see
what was happening. Graystrike nodded and headed to the main
cave.
Lily and Chamomile were both asleep so they didn't know what was
going on.
Darkgazer flew down to the Nightwing village and landed on a
pavilion. She walked in and her twin sister, Fatechanger was
sitting on the floor with her eyes closed. Darkgazer and
Fatechanger looked exactly the same except for the teardrop-shaped
scale that Darkgazer had in the corner of her eye. To change that,
Fatechanger wears a gold bracelet that has a ruby set into it. She
looked up when Darkgazer came in. "How is the hybrid hunting
going?" Fatechanger asked, despite knowing already. "They are
underwater so I want to grab something." Darkgazer said. She ran to
the back room and grabbed a black tablet that had the alpha symbol
on the front and the omega symbol on the back. Both markings glowed
as if they had been engraved by fire. She grabbed a black bag off
the wall, put the tablet in the bag, said goodbye to her sister,
and flew away, back to Jade Moutain.
Seclusion swims back to the aquatic island, the enters an empty
cave and starts scratching the walls. Words like, 'Leader' and
'assassin ' showed up, as well as 'bottom' and 'tablet.'
Darkgazer landed in front of the cave at Jade Moutain. Cinderclaws
looked up. "What's that?" He asked, pointing to the bag around
Darkgazer's neck. "Something that will help us fight the hybrids."
She said simply before walking into the cave where the queens were.
She explained what the tablet would do. "This tablet will make the
holder of it an animus. It was created by my grandmother because
she knew we would need it someday."
Graystrike narrowed her eyes but didn't say anything.
Phoenix sighed, shook her head, and walked away.
Fireheart saw a vision of bounty hunters finding them. Each one had
a piece of jewelry on them that apparently let them breathe
underwater. He walked to the main hall and looked at Eclipse. He
already knew what she had been saying from other visions that he
had earlier. "Well, you'll have your wish." He said, looking
straight at her. "The 'pure' dragons have found a way to get down
here."
Darkgazer looked around at the queens. "Any ideas how we should
word the spell that can allow us the breathe underwater?" She
asked.
"Let's go then." She said, her two pairs of wings eager to fly and
get some prey. She shot up, beckoning Star. Another hybrid on the
island may notice her and her companion. She sees Brightfire and
smiles. "Heya, wanna hunt with us? Flamesilk makes it less burnt,
and evidently, better tasting."
"Umm, sure." Brightfire said to Star and Smallfly. He was glad that
he was with other dragons, but he makes sure not to touch them.
"I've never eaten anything lightly toasted before."
Barry is out of the cave now, swimming is the ocean. It was such a
nice place.
Now Brightfire is getting really nervous, getting firescales
mentioned into the conversation. "I mean, I've never had something
that wasn't like burned to death. Can I still hunt with you" he
asked.
Spiri returned to her cave with Nightflower just as the princess
was waking up. The RainWing/NightWing hybrid yawned at Spiri as she
came in, and Spiri gave her a brief smile. "How did you sleep?"
Spiri still wasn't quite ready to sleep herself, but hoped
Nightflower was rested enough, at least. She was relieved when
Nightflower nodded, as the SilkWing/Icewing wouldn't be surprised
if her rest had been plagued by nightmares after all that had been
taken from her. She promised herself she would always stick beside
her friends, no matter where life's journey took them. She sat in
the entrance of the cave as Nightflower walked toward her.
