Spiri arched her neck back and breathed the frostbreath straight
into Darkgazer's eyes. She was in battle mode, and her normal
intelligence had been transferred to reflexes and survival
instinct. If this didn't kill, at least it would leave the hunters
something to think about. As much as she desired to go home, she
was ready to accept that if peace wasn't possible, war was
inevitable
Darkgazer let out a hiss a pulled away from Spiri. She was blinded
but did an enchantment so that she would still be able to see. She
backed away. "This isn't over." She hissed before turning away and
heading back into the water and back to the Nightwing Village.
Buzzard didn't want to follow but figured a retreat and regroup
would be smart since the Nightwings had lost their queen. Emperor,
Dragonfly, and Cinderclaws followed and so did Everglade.
Holly did not follow however. Instead, she looked over Lily's burns
and pulled out some herbs to help heal them. If the hybrids didn't
want her here so be it. After what she had done she really deserved
to be an outcast from both the 'pure' dragons and the hybrids.
Ruin and Seahorse were hot on the others' tails. They were glad the
useless battle was over. One didn't have to be a NightWing to
forsee this failure, even though some did not understand. They were
against hybrids, sure, but this attack had been stupid, and they'd
lost a dragon, a queen, with nothing to say for it.
Darkgazer landed at Jade Mountain to take a break. She was growling
angrily to herself about death, destruction, war, and many other
unpleasant topics. She didn't care what the queens thought so she
blocked everything out and thought about how they needed a
plan.
Phoenix saw Holly with Chamomile and Lily. She walked over to the
queen. "So, are you staying or leaving?" She asked. She seemed to
know Holly despite the fact that pure dragons were never supposed
to have contact with hybrids. Holly shrugged in response. "It
depends on if you and the others will have me." She said, not
looking up from her work.
Spiri was still in a rage, and watched the 'pure' dragons flee. She
swung her head around to glare at Holly. "Of course not!" She
retorted, sensing the trap. She paced toward her with a growl. "Of
course she wants to use this for her hunter friends, she's clearly
acting!" She spat the accusation, still in killer mode, causing
Nightflower to hold back from coming out of hiding yet.
Holly flinched away from Spiri. She sighed. "It might do good to
tell you what I am before you try to kill me..." She said quietly,
still tending to Lily's wounds. Truthfully, she was quite grateful
to Lily for protecting Chamomile and wished that she could thank
her out loud but was worried that they would think it was just some
random nonsense that she was trying to use so that they trusted
her.
Stinger sees that he is all alone. He quickly runs the the entrance
and flies/swims off. He will get that hybrid next time. They killed
a queen. A QUEEN! He must get revenge for the nightwings. After
all, they were his ancestors from the Beetlewings.
Brightfire is glad that the other dragons are gone. He makes a big
huff and lays down, tired from the other firescales chasing
him.
Barry takes off his animus objects. He puts them in his cave and
comes back out. He is surprised nobody noticed that he was
invisible, with his many little blue scales on him.
Darkgazer was pacing still. She muttered a few things that sounded
like 'queen', 'night', 'hybrid', and 'revenge'. She sighed and
figured that the first thing she needed to do was to find a new
Nightwing queen.
(Darkgazer left with all the other queens and bounty hunters except
Holly who stayed behind to help and Izula who is unconscious)
Holly noticed that Izula was unconscious and drug her to the
entrance to the island. She then put a herb under her nose to wake
her up so that she could fly away before finishing treating Lily's
wounds.
Darkgazer was having a hard time comprehending the fact that her
queen was dead she flew home and curled up on her bed, not even
talking to her twin like she usually did. She knew that she had to
tell the Nightwings that their queen had been killed but at the
same time she wasn't sure she wanted to tell them.
"Pfft. Fine." Izula turned to the exit. Without turning around
again, she said; "You should probably leave too, you know." Then
soared away, and her wings buzzed loudly.
I'm trying to think of a good signature, so... Use your
imagination.
Phoenix flicked her tail. "Us hybrids don't need to leave." She
muttered as Izula flew off. She walked back to where Holly and Lily
were and she helped Holly carry Lily to her room that way she was
more comfortable. Chamomile followed them, still partially in shock
that Holly had protected her.
Spiri continued to glare at Holly, not taking her eyes off her. She
barely flinched as Izula fled off back to wherever she was off to.
Her claws twitched, scraping the floor a bit as she glared at the
suspected spy. She'd come here to help attack and kill them off,
now she wanted to help? Seemed random. The attacks against Emperor
and the whole 'traitor' thing could so easily be set up, and Spiri
wasn't going to take her eyes LeafWing.
Once Phoenix and Holly had carried Lily to her bed to rest, Phoenix
went into her study to make a plan to attempt to restore peace and
wondered how the Nightwings would have a new queen since she wasn't
sure if Lunar had any heirs.
Holly was in the main room, cleaning up after the battle. She was
aware that Spiri was watching her but knew that was smart, even if
she didn't plan on turning them into the other queens. I guess
the saying 'A paranoid dragon is a living dragon' is a pretty
correct statement. She thought.
