A Use for Unwanted Shiny Pokémon

In order to remedy this problem, I'm introducing the concept of "The Shiny Collector", a mysterious character willing to trade unwanted shines for various different goods.
How this would work is that when you want to trade in Shinies for his goods, you would first select the item, let's use say, a pack of 20 pokeballs for an example. Now, you would select the Shinies you would want to trade in, similar to selecting pokemon to trade, up to a point value of the value of the item, with each different rarity being worth a amout of points. (Example in spoiler, and it doesn't have to be those exact values)
Now let's say the pokeballs cost 10 points. As you select pokemon to trade, it would tell you how many points you still have to trade in, and once you have enough, you can trade them in. The Shinies are given to the Collector (and basically count as released), and you get the items you want.
The items could be more than just pokeballs as well. Things to trade for could be items like evolution items, megastones, rare items you could sell, boxes/keyes, and could even be how the unused silver box/key could be brought to the site.
