Tenshi was about to accept the apology, but turned at the sound of the pokemon coming out. "Looks like we got a fight in our paws." She bared her teeth at the incoming pokemon. She was also excited, these humans might be her next clue, she bent down and whispered in Blaze's ear. "Wanna help me help all these humans? Like your trainer? Help me get us captured."

"What?" Blaze asked. "Uhh... Okay!" He agreed. "This won't be hard, I always lose!" He wasn't sure what kind of plan involved losing on purpose and getting captured, but he trusted Tenshi. After all, she was going to get captured right beside him.

Katu lost sight of Blaze in the alleyways. She looked around, but found no sign of the small Pokemon. "Where is he?" Katu muttered, mostly to herself.

"Good, but just in case, use the weakest attacks possible. Oh! and dodge as much as you can. If you can be annoying enough, they'll go straight for the ball." Tenshi spoke from personal experience. When she first hatched as a shiny, the boy who was her original trainer had decided that she didn't have the nature he wanted, and had given her to the trainer that had died when she turned 28, in that time she got glimpses of his short patience, and found a trend in most boys of that age. She hoped the same was true for these full grown men as well.

The Psyduck engaged with Tenshi, using fury swipes as his opening move.

Blaze got the Vulpix. The Pokemon let out a jarring roar, shocking Blaze. Pressing the advantage while Blaze was stunned, the Vulpix charged up a Dark Pulse in it's mouth, and released it. Blaze shook off the disorientation pretty quickly, and dodged. He got tagged by the pulse though.

Tenshi leaped back, dodging the fury swipes. She charged psychic energy in her horn and aimed a psycho cut at the psyduck, intentionally missing, but trying not to make it to obvious.

Katu heard sounds of the , and leapt into a run. She skidded to a stop behind the three humans, who had advanced on the other two . Acting quickly, Katu reared up and unleashed as large of a send attack as she could, sweeping the humans away. They landed agasint a house, but quickly got back up. Two of them - the ones with the guns - unleashed two more Pokemon. Katu took a step backwards. She wasn't liking the odds.

"What do you mean? They're clearly the ones responsible for the fog!" Katu asked, although she did stop attacking.

Menwhile, Blaze was cornered by the Vulpix. The Vulpix's trainer turned from Katu and Tenshi to throw a Pokeball at Blaze. It bounced harmlessly off his head - he was still a trained Pokemon, after all. The human muttered something, a burst of static emitting from his speaker. The Vulpix rushed in with another Dark Pulse. It landed a direct hit, and Blaze fainted.

Hunter had also followed the sounds of the fight. Now that he saw it, he wasn't sure there was to be done. Katu had given them a bit of time, but that was long gone. Now, he watched the two approaching Pokémon, unsure of what to do. He was confident that her be able to take on at least one of them, but the Absol seemed to have a plan of some sort.

"Risky plan." He muttered to himself, never taking his eyes off the approaching Pokémon.

Katu took another step back, seeing the Pokeballs the trainers held. She didn't have Blaze's immunity against Pokeballs, purely because she had been released a long time ago.

"No. You're free to do that, but I won't do something so risky." Katu decided, glancing at the two Pokemon and the trainers behind him. "I'm sorry. Maybe this isn't my fight."

She turned tail and ran.

The two new Pokemon - one a Mawile and the other one a Rapidash - began advancing. The Mawile moved to sucker punch Hunter, while the Rapidash unleashed a wave of flames with fire blast.

Hunter tried to disengage and follow Katu, but he saw the attacks coming from the other two Pokémon. He tried to sidestep the sucker punch and grunted as it caught him a glancing blow in the arm. He decided that close combat was the way to go and pushed the Mawlie back. But there was no avoiding the fire blast, and it was a type weakness. He leaned into the wave, crossing his arms in front of his head to try to absorb the majority of the move. But it definitely hurt. A lot.

Once the wave of fire had passed, he straightened up, his fur singed. He knew staying wasn't an option. He fired of several Aura Spheres in quick succession to cover his retreat.

Katu saw that Hunter was also trying to get out. Her eyes flicked between the Pokeball and the Lucario, and she made a decision. She used Physcic just as he used Aura Sphere, pulling him away from the battle. The move left her with a severe headache. It was always harder the larger objects got, and living things were resistant to her move.

She didn't say anything, and went back to running away.


The trainer - K103, his nametag read - threw his last Pokeball, hitting Tenshi square in the face. It didn't bounce off, and the Absol was absorbed into the ball, exactly as she had planned. The other two collected Blaze. K103 nodded to his two colleagues, and they disappeared.

Hunter felt himself being pulled back and let it happen. As soon as he was clear of the fight, he turned and ran. He just about glimpsed Katu and ran after her, sparing a look over his shoulder. He saw the Absol being absorbed and Blaze being picked up and felt a slight pang of regret. But he shook his head and continued running, trying to convince himself that there was nothing to be done.

Once she was in the pokeball, Tenshi felt it shake once. Twice. Three times. She didn't struggle, and when the shaking stopped and the pokeball closed, she waited, hoping that her instincts were right.

(Things happened. The Pokemon have left the beach. Tenshi and Blaze were captured to try and find the source of the fog while Katu and Hunter are running away.)

Katu ducked into a side alley, hiding herself behind a dumpster.


The three strange humans spoke for a few more minutes, evidently debating if they ought to chase after the other two Pokemon that had briefly appeared. Eventually, they decided not to and left, using portals once again.

They appeared on a forest clearing near a cliff wall. There was a bunker door in the cliff, and one of them - the one without the tranquilizer gun - approached it. He scanned something on his wrist and the door opened, revealing four guards. All saluted as the three went inside. They were doused down with water and decontaminated before taking off their biohazard armor.

"Whew! That was one heck of a fight!" Kenneth joked.

"Stow it." Doctor Halsey snapped back, a scowl on her face.

"Jeez Doc. Just cause your fog didn't work doesn't mean you have to be such a brat about it. Look, most of the town is asleep! We can expand-"

Halsey raised a hand, and Kenneth fell silent.

"Give me the Pokeball. And transfer the Blaziken to one of our secure holding cells."

"Yes, Doc." Kenneth and Lyane chorused.

Kenneth handed his Pokeball to Halsey.

Albafica was resting in the fountain, soothing his scars. He looked up towards the forest where Aino was circling around. "it's not good." The contest Pokemon reported, landing on the lip of the fountain. "the Absol and the Fennekin have been captured." Albafica whined and slunk into the water. Sure he agreed to come with and to try and help the humans but he hadn't even done anything yet. It sucked big time

After a brief rest, Katu decided to head off again. She went back to the town square in a daze, the headache not allowing her to think properly. She nearly ran shout-first into the fountain, before realizing what it was. Katu claimed the fountain and dunked her whole body into it. She brushed against some scales, but she didn't notice. She just really wanted to sleep.


Halsey went into one of their secured training chambers, and released the Pokémon from the Pokeball. It was an absol.
