"I'll come with you. We might be able to find another bag." Katu
said. Or at least, she hoped they would be able to find another
bag. If they were going to stay here for anything resembling a few
days, she didn't want to keep going back and forth fetching berries
every time they needed to eat. "Think you can carry a bigger bag?
That's the smallest size they had." She asked, conversationally.
"I wouldn't rule it out of the realm of possibility." The Lucario
grinned, stepping into the mall. He looked around and gave a low
whistle. "They don't mess around, huh?" He scanned around until he
found the item shop.

"You could say that." Katu agreed, looking around at all the
shelves and shelves of produce. Their main problem, though?
Everything was kept behind glass, and even then all they could
really see were just the displays. It was like a giant vending
machine. She spotted a few humans around the shop. One in
particular had her credit card out, as if about to pay for a
transaction. Katu grabbed that.
"They won't mind, right?" She mumbled through the card.
Hunter blinked, then looked around. "Probably not." He shrugged.
"Also, I really don't think the fact that they would is going to
stop this from happening, so..." He shrugged and made a 'go ahead'
gesture. "I wonder how the human law deals with thieving Pokémon."
Hunter wondered idly.

"I don't think they think enough of us to think we can steal credit
cards." Katu replied, "because Trainers don't get to make the laws,
and last I checked bureaucrats don't care much about
non-humans."
In a way, they were basically trying to save the world though. So
hopefully no one would mind too much. It was for their own
good!
She tapped the controls, setting it to fifty berries. That sounded
like a lot, more than they could carry even if she used Psychic to
lift them. Katu paid for the transaction with her card, and a five
small packages of berries tumbled out.
"You know, I'm sure I could say something about honour and
something, but survival is what it is." The Lucario shrugged.
Hunter blinked a few times as the packages fell out. He looked from
them to the bag he was holding to the packages and back. "Right,
bigger bag." He muttered, stuffing one of the packs into the one
Katu had given him.

"I could bring that one." Katu volunteered, even as she was headed
for the self-packaging area. She found one a pretty good size for
Hunter - it was half his size. Around he same proportion as her
bag, then. She stuffed the rest of the packs into that bag. There
was still some space left. "Should we get some drinks? I think they
have lemonade."
"Yeah, sure." Hunter craned his neck to locate the drink, holding
out a hand for the credit card as he did so. "I think I see the
lemonade. Thanks for packing those, by the way." He mumbled. He
felt he was leaving a lot of work to the smaller Pokémon and that
made him a bit uncomfortable.

Katu floated over the credit card, for the moment leaving the bag
on the packing counter. No one would be stealing them, anyways,
because there was no one around to steal them. Strange thought, but
she was getting used to it.
"How long do you think until the power shuts off?" She wondered.
"Well, basic power stations require constant validation that a
human is monitoring them. So those will 0robably turn off today or
tomorrow. Then, I suppose places like this would have backup power
for a week or so. After that, only the really important buildings
will have a long lasting supply." The Lucario shrugged, fiddling
with the controls and swiping the card. He stared down at it as the
lemonade bottles were dispensed. "You know," he said, not taking
his eyes off the card, "the fog must have come really suddenly. It
can't have gradually rolled over the town. All at once. These
people didn't have time to react."

"I would agree." Katu answered. "Someone pretty smart had to have
had quite a lot of time and money to do something like this."
She walked over to a TV mounted on the roof, fiddling for a few
moments with the controls using Psychic. The few inter-regional
channels were also dead, except for a few prescheduled shows. "I
think the people in Emera weren't the only ones affected, since it
seems like most things are still missing."
She paused. "Also, I'm pretty sure there's a competition today for
all of the regions being held in Emera Town, so I'm pretty sure
some people should have arrived and found out about this by now."
Hunter sighed at the conclusion they had reached as he packed away
the lemonade and picked up the bag. "Well, that's perfect." He
muttered. "Just..." He lapsed into silence. "Come on, then. Unless
there's something else you want to buy?" He asked.

Katu stared at a few luxury items, before shrugging.
"Nah. It's be a waste of energy and time buying unnecessary stuff."
She said as she picked up her own bag, which only contained a
little. She felt bad with Hunter doing the bulk of the work, but it
couldn't be helped. She levitated the few stray cans around her as
they made for the fountain.
Hunter nodded and made for the fountain as well. He watched the can
that Katu was levitating silently, caught up in his own thoughts.
Without the humans, a lot of things would change. Bank account
balances seemed to be near the top of the list, but there were a
few other things that he wondered about. For one, there would be a
lot of Pokémon trapped in their balls.

Moving towards the beach, Albafica kept his eye out for the nice
trainer he kept looking for. He didn't even know the name of the
trainer just the voice as they had always conversed with Albafica
beneath the waves. After a while of fruitless searching, Albafica
slithered back slightly dejected but more motivated to continue
trying figure out how to stop the fog.
Aino stayed by the fountain trying to groom himself. It was here
when he realized how much his trainer actually did for him, keeping
him in contest ready shape and everything. He even found himself
missing his teammates who were probably still in their pokeballs.
Maybe he'd let them out, he thought before shaking his head.
Foolish thoughts would get him nowhere. He needed to focus
Katu and Hunter mad with back to the fountain in one piece. There
weren't any human attacks or any sort of disturbance. Town was
completely silent. Albafica looked like he'd just gotten back, but
Katu wasn't sure and didn't want to ask.
"I wonder if there are any other Pokemon? It can't be possible that
only four of us are left. And yeah, those two that got caught I
guess."
"Strange." Dr. Halsey murmured, poring over her data. The Absol
looked to be a pretty high level. The sensors around the test area
proved that at the very least. So why did it get captured so
easily?
"Not all Pokémon seem to be immune, but yeah." Hunter agreed.
"Also, anyone hungry?" Hunter asked Aino and Albafica, putting down
the sack and grabbing a berry for himself, not really concerned
with which one came to hand. "There's something to drink in there
as well." He gestured towards the bag.

Kate picked out a berry for herself as well. It tasted sweet in her
mouth. She ate a few more just to fill up, then drank the lemonade
she had kept with her Psychic hold.
"Do you think they have some sort of surveillance in the town? I
feel like we're waiting around doing nothing.
Hunter shrugged. "I should imagine that there would be some. Is
there anything like a police station here? On the other hand,
individual buildings would likely keep their own surveillance, if
that's what you're thinking." He paused.
"And you're not wrong about the waiting."

"I sure hope not." Aino huffed, coming over to inspect what berries
there were. He made a face at most of them as he didn't have a
liking to most but settled for a mediocre Cheri berry. "It's
already bad enough to have this situation. To have others also
keeping tabs on us? No thank you." The Altaria shuddered at the
thought of simply waiting around and doing nothing
Albafica said nothing and simply took one berry for himself. He
didn't have much to contribute to the conversation and simply
listened a little ways off. After all he didn't want to impose to
much
