Maddox felt the punch on his shoulders, making him slide left, going on one knee to minimalise the knockback. He summoned a clone behind him and launched it at Grandar, making it do a flip to increase power and slammed the staff on his head, using its feet to soften the landing onto his chest. Another few clones appeared to pin down his arms, two clone per arm. Maddox stood squarely from him to watch, staying out of arms reach. The remaining clone tried to attack Grandar on his head.

Nina watched Grandar, worry filling her eyes.

Nova watches dully. It had to end soon, her concern was more for her own daughter.

(Where Nova comes from those who fight (or are forced too) have their children and/or spouses held hostage. The more fights they win, the more likely they are to see them again. Just for Nova to win one fight was enough to have her daughter freed.)

Grandar twists and turns his neck to avoid the hits, always threatening to break loose if the clones got too close. "Hey Comrade, do you ever think you're relying too much on your clones? For all that talk earlier, you sure are pathetic without them." He lifts and slams the back of his foot into the ground, shaking and temporarily stunning the clones enough for him to lift all 4 off the ground only to be squeezed to dust by a killer bear hug. He got up, cracked his neck, and sucker-punched Maddox, aiming for the staff.

He slid to the left, his staff still at his side. He was trying to hit low.. my quarterstaff? He thought, rage sparking up again. He then slid under Grandar and attacked the back of his head, staying behind. He left a clone where he was and stayed out of arms reach, clutching his weapon.

Grandar was quick to act, slamming the ground with the risen stone making a wall behind him, not letting Maddox escape. Hes grown accustomed to these clones, a single well placed rock throw and they become dust. He turns and grabs the staff pinning Maddox against the makeshift wall. He speaks softly through his various exhausted pants. "Now...I've got a hunch...that this staff is helping you....in some way..." He tightens his grip on the staff and feels it cracking under the pressure while pressing Maddox against the wall tightly. "Now...I know this ones you...gameover...Comrade" The staff is quickly cracking and breaking from the grip pressure.

Maddox stayed calm, creating five clones behind him to pile on top. They snapped their fingers and became twice as heavy, pushing Grandar to the ground. Hastily, he held his staff with two hands, slamming it into the back of his skull. Splinters flew out of the weapon, gently falling on the ground.

Grander got up easily. Blood trickled from the back of his head and all over his body. He was covered in blood, sweat, and dirt but still...not dead. "Heheh, Comrade, I've swung trees like you've swung that stick. Not 5, not 500 of your clients will keep me down and now without your stick...what do plan to do? I still have breath in my lungs, but if you don't yield....I will have to ensure that you won't." He brushes away the clones and takes a few steps forward, crushing what was left of the staff.

As the clones were thrown off, one of their staffs was thrown at the back of his head. Another was thrown in Maddox's direction, allowing him to catch it. He looked down to see that he had scratches all over him, no major injuries. A few had drawn blood, giving his legs some pain, but Grandar was in a much worse state. What he lacked in was power; he knew the next step. The clones snapped their fingers as Maddox jumped up and slammed his feet on Grandar's head, pushing him away as he joined the clones at the other end of the pitch. They created a formation of sorts, a figure just larger than Grandar. Maddox was at the top, noticeably due to the clones' slight fadedness. One at the bottom didn't have a staff because of him giving it to Maddox, so the other did the same. He now had two staffs, the clones either side of him also had one staff. We still lack power, but now we're like him but more nimble. He thought, charging left but strafing right to attack with three staffs at his cheek and shoulder, the formation backing away as soon as they got the chance.

Grandar had just enough of this clone crud. He kicked his foot into the ground sending Maddox's previously made spikes and sharp gravel into the air before waving his hands to cause whirlwind's of shredding rock towards Maddox and his army. The new staffs where only temporary, and Grandar knew that all it too was some damage for them to disappear. He knew it would have to hit Maddox and when he found the last one standing, he grabbed a large rock in his hand and chucked it, directly hitting his torso at dangerous speeds.

Nina covered Lucky's eyes, she didn't want her daughter to see this, it could end badly and if it did, well, Lucky didn't need to see it.

All that blood and he's still going? If I go against him I better use my dagger, might give me an edge. Nova thought somberly, she didn't realize that a man was holding her daughter to escort her in.

Maddox smiled as the clones parted for a moment to allow the rock to go through. They charged at him again, Maddox being scraped by the rocks, and swung his staffs at his skull once, the clones on either side swung also. The group backed away with two leaps, one clone on the side being struck with a large rock and fading. The formation fell, however the clones on the bottom caught all but one of the figures, causing one clone to fade.

Nova felt a prickle on her skin that couldn't be explained until she turned around and saw the man holding her daughter, escorting her in. Nova pushed the man away and embraced her daughter tightly. This was the first time anyone had seen Nova give any sort of emotion at all as she nearly broke into tears of relief that her daughter was unharmed.

Nova's daughter, Charlie (or Charlotte) looked like her, but with dark skin and freckles splotched on her face.
