Currently, if a user offers an unequal amount of pokemon, the offer could be made, but the user who set up the trade cannot accept.

These offers should not be allowed.

Instead, when trying to offer an unequal amount of pokemon, the user should be given a error message, and no offer would be made. The offer would keep its details after the error. The user can edit the offer without having to set up the entire offer again.

When/Why this would be useful:
-Newer users who don’t know that they must offer the same amount of pokemon would learn this rule if they missed the “You must offer exactly X amount of pokemon” instruction while offering

-This can also apply when offering a lot of pokemon, eg trades that have 8 pokemon, and the offerer miscounts and offers 7 or 9 pokemon instead

-Users setting up trades don’t have to type “don’t forget junkmon”, “add trashmon”, etc every single time (of course, most trades don’t have this message, but some users type it so that the one time they do get an offer, they don’t get something they can’t accept)

-Users who set up the trade don’t have to deal with trades they may want to accept, but can’t. If they might have wanted the trade, they may contact the offerer, which may be a hassle for smaller trades, eg free pokemon for random extra pokemon

-Every so often, I myself forget to offer a pokemon when trying to offer quickly. Then I’d remember right after and I’ll have to remove the offer and reoffer again. It’d be a nice reminder and remove a little bit of the hassle

Full support, because of all the reasons you named!

Not only can you misscount while offering, but also just loose track. I myself mostly offer the current pkmn of my shiny hunt and then maybe loose track how many I already set up. This won't happen then as well.
So definitely a good suggestion

I was looking for if anyone had already suggested this before starting one of my own and I finally found this :D I completely agree with this that there should be an error message because I myself keep repeatedly making this mistake and I feel stupid every time I realize what I've done and it's too late to make a new offer. It's honestly silly how there isn't an error message to begin with!

while i tend to not trade a ton of pokemon, i do trade items a lot and such! i can imagine how frustrating it must be if you’re selling pokemon in bulk and someone offers the wrong amount of pokemon. and when you go to accept.. you can’t. which would suck, especially if they had an amazing offer!
i guess until or if this gets Implemented you’ll have to go with messaging the person that offered and asking them to fix their offer so you can accept it!

Yeah! I tried to give my friend a Pokemon (he just started) and we had to wait until he hatched a new Pokémon to accept the trade. Very annoying
