Furry Trash
Once an insult against furries, it is generally accepted as a joke within the fandom with many furries calling themselves furry trash. Being "furry trash" is generally associated with an obsession of the furry fandom which can be cringy but does not need to be cringy. Alternatively, a furry may be furry trash if they do not care what hate they get for being a furry or may decide to call themselves furry trash just because they are a furry.



I recently found out about the furry fandom and now I'm obsessed. Literally like half of one of my sketchbooks is filled with just furry art, I've already got a head, been looking at partial suits, have multiple fursonas, yada yada yada. I am most definitely furry trash. How about you?

been (knowingly) furry trash for 5 years but ive been a furry for somewhere around 8 years. when i was really young i was obsessed with disney movies and drew anthro animals, but didnt know what a furry was until a few years later when i got my first smart phone. i now have a partial suit (of an old sona. im not connected anymore so idk what to do.) and a sweatshirt of my sona in my signature and pfp. i will be getting a fullsuit of him when im older, and im not just saying that because i want to. ive planned it out for a while and ive been able to keep up a strong connection with him that proves hes the best character for it. im already setting some money aside from my job and art commissions for it!

I usually dislike referring to myself as “trash” in any way, but I will sometimes say I am furry trash. I don’t really think I’m trash in the normal sense of the word, though... XD I guess you could say I say it because I don’t care what people say. Mostly because the things they assume about furries just don’t apply to me at all. They think furries do things together in their suits that are not okay to mention and I don’t do that. They think furries do those things as well to actual animals. I don’t and I have never met a real furry who does and if I ever do meet someone who does I won’t stand being friends with them or letting them see my cats. Lol A lot of people also think furries all have to be LGBT+, but I’m a straight woman who is just open minded toward others. Lol

And, as it turns out, my main fursona is also my Ponysona. I am also a Pegasister. It isn’t my top favorite cartoon series, but I do love MLP:FiM. I especially love it’s messages of acceptance and open mindedness toward others with every pony being vastly different from each other and each one having to learn to accept the others for who they really are. MLP in and of itself also carries some fairly bad labels which I also reject. Like “MLP fans are immature” or “MLP fans are trolls”. It is true that a lot of trolls hopped on our pony cart a few years back, but we really are not like that, least of all myself. I also had a very traumatic run-in with two other MLP fans four years ago which has made me try to focus more than ever on learning the friendship lessons and trying to apply some of them to my real relationships to improve them...

So I’m actually a Pony, but I claim furry because I also really enjoy creating fursonas!!!

I used to be in the furry fandom, joined in 2013 and left in 2016??? if I'm remembering correctly. Although as of late I'm slowly getting sucked back into the furry vortex lol certainly considering rejoining the fandom ^^
