Hey. This has been bothering me for a long while. Also i don't know if there is any thread like that, so sorry if there is.

So, the way how large sprites look like this is what bothers me. Look at the Noivern, and the Sableye. Noivern, as a large sprite, is cropped. You can't see the tip of its wings. I know when you go home > your party, it fixes the problem, but it still is the same if you go to someone's profile and check their party.

X The way of fixing it could be if you made the space of the sprite larger. That way, even the largest sprites would fit in. If it doesn't fit the page, maybe take the "EHP/EXP" thing under the pokemon.
X Orr, another way to fix it would be to make the sprites smaller. But other than that, i can't think of a some other solution right now.

Thanks for taking your time and reading this, even if it's a short one!

Now making the picture bigger would mess up some pages. (at least from my point of view...its programmed to have certain width and length :I )
Making the picture smaller would decrease the quality of the sprite a bit.

I am sorry to point this buuuut yeah.

My solution would be to change the sprite. Just some little changes in the shape ;D

Now, I am not entirely sure if all the statements I've pointed out are 100% true.

Reasons for Support (Kinda);
1) Cannot see your example of the cropping issue image, but I did test to confirm. I've seen many users complain about this issue before and is a legitimate problem despite probably not being considered a top priority "fix".
2) I do believe Pokemon Sprites should be displayed consistently in size throughout the website for the sake of professionalism/continuity.
3) At the end of the day, it doesn't affect me functionally even though it can be visually unpleasing at times.

Suggestion: Have the elements conform to the default size of 96x96 for the sprites if they aren't already. That'd be less work than trying to find a way to resize images that do have problems in my opinion, although HTML is not one of my skills so correct me if I'm wrong.

Quote from MagikarpKingall sprites are 64x64 from what i know

Sprites are defaulted to 96x96 from the Pokemon's Page and Pokedex, with some exceptions such as Front Page/User Profile Party (both which crops to 80x80).

I agree with just making the sprite smaller. Yes it may decrease in quality, and maybe make it harder to depict what the pokemon is for newcomers. but in the end. You can always just click on the pokemon to show the summary anyways.

i think the sprites look fine. making them smaller would decrease the quality, as stated, which is NOT a good thing. if you have problems with a sprite, talk to the spriters on site instead of making a suggestion. you can find spriters here

I'm not understanding why making the space on the profile-page bigger isn't an option?
I see it mentioned in the OP-post, but everyone keeps talking about downsizing the sprite...

(note - I have no inside knowledge, so I don't know if there's a reason Riako set a different size on the profile-page or if it was just a mistake.)

No support

This doesn't bother me, but I know it bothers some people

These sprites are the official sprites, and making them smaller would change it, which, I might be dumb, but I don't know if that's allowed

As a spriter myself, I know that if you make it smaller, it will make the sprite all wonky and someone needs to edit every sprite that was resized

There's no space for more space for sprites
If you moved the EXP/EHP to under the sprite, that would cause odd space between the sprite and the text, as the sprite picture is 96x96px, and the sprite is in the middle, so the text will go under the empty space under the sprite
In order to fix this, every sprite has to be cropped individually, which would take a long time

Maybe you could make the page bigger, but I don't know if that will mess with the scroll on mobile users

In my opinion, it just isn't worth the hassle just to make the entire sprite visible

keep livin'. keep dreamin'.
