I've always wanted to suggest something about the Gem Cauldron time, but only now am getting the chance to.

For a lot of us, the Gem Cauldron's time simply isn't enough. 30 seconds to put in 17 Gems... That means there's less than 1 second to put in each gem (1.77 seconds, if you want to be exact). You know what that means? That means only the people with really fast reaction rates (which is actually not the majority of people) will have a chance at this game. That really isn't fair. At all. The people with slower reaction rates would like a chance, too.

Here's one way to put it: Instead of bringing the time up, what could happen is that every time you put in a Gem, the time would be extended by a couple of seconds. I think 3 seconds would be fair, but that's up to Riako to decide.

Now, I know, I just know, people will use these as arguments, so I'm going to list them out and give my answers to them.

QuoteThis would make getting the Mega Stones easier.
No it wouldn't, it'll make it possible through using this feature for a wider variety of people. To say this would be like saying this, in a less direct way: "This feature should only be for a few people. The slow people can just suck it up and not play the game." I don't know about you, but that'd be very elitist sounding. Riako only added the game for a few people? Really? So the rest of us shouldn't get to enjoy a certain feature? Getting a Mega Stone even while being fast enough to play this game is hard enough, because most of the time, all you'll get are regular stones.

QuoteThe time is enough for me. I can get this done in [insert amount of seconds here].
Good for you. You're one of the few with a fast rate of reaction. Then that means this won't hurt you at all.

So yes, if you're not going to support this, please give me a reason other than those two, because those reasons really aren't good ones to not support something.

Alright, that's all. Hope this'll be considered, because I'd really like a chance at this fun game, and I know many others who would, too.

I support this for sure and actually this could be useful for people with fast reactions. Aren't a lot of stress-inducing hormones released when a person does things in a hurry??? If people are given more time then that means that the people with fast reactions can slow down too and stress themselves out less!

So I support I feel like this would help everybody..

Wow, good point there, Falcon! So yes, even for faster people, this would be helpful. It's not like we don't already have enough stress in our lives that a game has to help build up more (could say the same for the Coin Flip, grr) xD

Normally I'm not a friend of "make things easier" suggestions, but in this case I have to say that the Gem Cauldron with the current limit is indeed quite hard. My reactions aren't bad (though making my cursor follow them is a different matter altogether), but I have a problem with telling the gems apart quickly enough since some of them are very similar in color. Additionally, the same gem can be perceived to look different on black (cauldron) and white (surrounding area) background; kind of like some optical illusion.

Personally I might have a chance of winning this game if I could get some proper practice in, but seeing that it uses up whatever gems are put in even when the player doesn't succeed, I'm not very inclined to practice on the actual thing. A training mode that neither costs nor rewards anything might already help.

Of course, a time extension (one way or another) would also help; just thought I'd mention a potential alternative.

This.

Your suggestion is great! Getting practice on this before doing the actually thing is bound to boost our speed. I like that alternative, too. I still feel like some might have trouble even then, but that would help a lot of us out.

mentioning a practice trial reminds me of the mario party games where you can test the mini-game out and get the hang of it before actually playing for keeps lol

i support this idea though, i've heard enough complaints from other people about various difficulties to the point where i'm not even willing to try (don't take the fact that i've never played it as a reason i shouldn't support, i am always far more willing to try a feature when it gets positive feedback, i'm sure this goes for many others too)

Autumn: It's a good thing you didn't decide to try it out. I already wasted a lot of rare gems, including dragon, and got nowhere.

Thanks for the support! :)

Support! My mind moves very slowly, one of the reasons I'm one of the last people to finish a test in school. I've never been able to be quick enough with the cauldron and when I try to move quickly, I put in the wrong gem.

I support.
I've read alot of feeds about that problem a few days ago - and that's why I think there should be a solution for everyone to play the game successfull. mega stones are needed and as far as I know, the cauldron is currently the only way to get one of the expensive stones.

but maybe there are much more solution-ideas, than expand the needed time by dropping a gem.

how about everyone has the choice?
could look like this:

it could be a special item in the shop that we have to buy (like the egg radar)

...and maybe the chance (to get a mega stone) could scale with the seconds.. but I think it shouldn't get less than how it's currently :'D

You can also get the mega stones through the Treasure Hunt game, but there, it is near impossible. I like the idea of buying an item to boost the time. That'd be good, too.

Thanks for the support! :D

Oh man. Being able to practice would be so awesome...
I tried it for the first time a couple days ago and didn't even come close to getting all the gems in the cauldron in the allotted time. If I got to practice with a no risk, no reward set-up, though? Yeah, I could probably get the hang of it.
I also really like adding seconds as you put in a gem, though. It would be still be daunting, but slightly less so. I mean, your gems are still at stake, and you're still risking the chance of making a regular evolutionary stone. It just allows more people to succeed at making evolutionary stones. Haha..

As it stands right now, though, I won't be playing it again until there's some kind of change in how it's played. (Or if I can practice. ) Because I'll just be wasting my gems if I try again.

So, in short, of course I support. <3

I agree to both ideas, but especially the practice mode.
I never played Gem Cauldron just because I can't practice and I don't want to waste my Gems...
Adding a bit of time after putting the right gem - I think it would be nice, from what I heard from others who played, but I can't say for myself (probably would be really useful for me because I have old computer and it would be laggy xD )
