i dont really pay attention to game theory anymore because, no
offense to him, but i think his theories are too far fetched now,
so i have no idea what you guys are talking about
Project Libitina is all in the easter eggs, coding, and secrets of
ddlc. Not all MatPat's theor8es are farfetched or half-baked. The
ddlc theory actually made sense.
"And besides, why not just enjoy Doki Doki for what it is?" you can
say that to literally anything else
enjoying something for just what they are and not try to
speculate on anything only makes a game die faster if anything
Game Theory just likes to connect the dots with a lot of things.
Sometimes it's based on facts, others are speculation or very
similar themes to playfully stick two seperate topics together.
It's ALWAYS been like that ( "Mario is a sociopath because of
various overlooked things and his actions in spin-off games" vs
"Assassins Creed's gravity seems to be stronger than earths based
on math") It's called a /theory/ for a reason, not game facts.
If you're going to enjoy Doki Doki for what's on the surface, I
have no right to judge! Just know some people like to delve deeper
and uncover secrets that the developers left for the players to
discover! They wouldn't have left it there for no reason, and
there's plenty of evidence that directly points to a second
"prequel" game that may even reference Doki Doki!
Many games and tv series were so successful solely based on the
mystery surrounding them, and theorizing and coming to individual
conclusions only strengthens the hype around a series! (Ex: FNAF,
Hello Neighbor, Undertale, Steven Universe)
While your statements have a lot of truth within them (both meme
and WhisperingThief), there is the other side of the line: Too much
speculation can go too far. Undertale was killed due, for the most
part, temporary replayability(which all games suffer from, except a
few), the community, and overspeculation by YouTubers. MatPat
didn't make too many Undertale theories, only 3(technically 4), but
they were low quality. YouTubers like UnderLab have a few great
theories, but there are WAY too many, some of them managing to be
worse than MatPat's.
also they're potential spoilers and I don't want to enter my next
big game already spoiled. that's why I have a grudge against the
theory.
(Edit: Wait this is kinda getting off topic sorry ^^")
The UnderTale theories were for FUN and like Whispering
said, Mat just connects the dots. And they are theories."The More You Know" Big surprise.... They aren't all good...
