Writers Club (Always Accepting Authors!)
Forum-Index → Fan Clubs → Writers Club (Always Accepting Authors!)That's what I hoped for. I tried to find names that are unusual/unique, aka not used in every story, but still not too extravagant and unrealistic [things like "Nightclaw" (used in every story I was reading so far, jfc), Shadowdance (unique but extravagant), Secretwhisperer (as if a leader would name a cat like that), Lieheart (oh yes, that cat seems trustable), ...]
And I think I actually did a decent job at it ;u;
I'll throw the hierarchy of the second clan here as soon as I have all their names plus ranks~
That's awesome!!
@Nishi
Love the names :3
@all
I came across one of my very first stories I ever typed... It's from when I was about ten. I think. Ten to twelve. I mean... I'll link it if anyone wants (heck I might even continue writing it because I have some ideas for it now and I love the characters, and I never even finished it) but it's 58 pages long on Google Docs.
And yes, please show it! I'd like to see the improvement!
Also;
I already hinted it in one of my feeds; but I wanted to tell you. I had a story idea while listening to the song "Copycat" (for anyone interested, this is the song) and I'd like to know your opinion on the idea so far. I don't really have a plot, it's more like a blank idea and it'd take more chapters to get the story over I think.
The idea is that there's a girl at a school who is very pretty, but shy and a bit depressed. She's bullied at school because she's pretty (AKA jealous girls bully her), that's where her shyness and depression come from. She deeply wishes that she'll be accepted and that people will one day look up to her. (I had the idea of calling her Katherine, Kat for short, to make a word play with "Copycat" and call the story "Copy Kat" or something, I'm not sure about that though. I'll refer to her as Kat for now anyways.)
Then a girl comes into her class. The girl looks very similar to her, the only difference between them is their hair color; she's friendly, open and people instantly like her, offering her candy, offering her to sit with them during lunch, etc. - but the girl instead clings to Kat and quickly becomes her friend. They start doing almost everything together, while she (the "new" girl - I'll call her Kim for now) is still accepted and people want to be like her. Kim dyes her hair to the same color as Kat, so they now look like twins.
Kat is happy that she found such a great friend and thinks that they have many things in common, but in the truth, Kim only "copies" Kat. She starts wearing the same clothes, buying the same things, listening to the same music etc. etc. - so she's basically a Copycat. Kat, however, doesn't even take that seriously, due to the fact that she always wished to be admired and that someone wants to be like her.
That's the main idea. So;; what do you think about that? It's pretty much just the setting so far. I have a small plot idea too, but I'm not going to share it yet, first because it may run through a lot of changes and second because that'd give away what's happening if I decide to write and post it. uvu
• woah-oh, higher, i'm going up over there •
• woah-oh, higher, i'm going to fly higher •
you can do it! i just passed 45k so i'm fairly certain i'll be able to hit 50 or 60k by the end of the month. (6 days to go! it's both gone by really fast and really slow?)
@ everyone else
good luck! :0 sounds like you're all working on interesting things!
Ahhh, that's a fantastic idea!
@Everyone
I just started a new story, I called it the Talented and the Secretive. Basically, it's about a world where the more talented you are at certain things, such as art, singing, even other things involving Abnormalities (their word for powers), the more popular you are, the more fame you get, and the more influence you have over society. Specifically, it focuses on a few specific people, right now I have Rezia, Arca (short for Sarcasm), Liro, Enigma, and Itial. Each of them have a secret, a horrible secret that could bring an end to their power and fame if it was revealed. Nobody knows it. Except each of them get notes, and the notes say things like "I know you're secret" but none of them are aware of who it actually is that knows their weaknesses.
What do you think?
Nice! :0 I like the idea, just one question: what are their secrets??
@Somebody
waitwaitwait, didn't you say that you couldn't start writing until mid-July?? How on earth did you write that much?! *falls to knees and praises* I'm barely going to be able to reach my goal, and I had all of July, plus an 18k word lead :,D
teach me your secrets
HOLY-
I can barely write that much in a month, let alone half!!! Nicely done :0

holy kecleon i know right
i'm as surprised as you are honestly, it isn't even November nano :'D and yeah, i didn't get started until the 15th haha, not counting a couple paragraphs i wrote early on. i'm glad i'm getting all this writing in, tho - it's good practise, and i probbbbably won't be able to do it in November since i might be just too busy with school.
my secret is CONSTANT word wars even tho i'm not a competitive person, and also just being really excited to get a draft of my story written down

what kind of writer's block are you having trouble with? :0 like, do you not know what's going to happen next in a scene? or are you stuck with details like motive, background, pacing, etc.?
i haven't stumbled across a universal cure, but as was mentioned before, you can try either distracting yourself (e.g. music, podcasts, reading someone else's work for inspiration) or by removing distractions (quiet room, take a walk outside)?
I just can't,, write anything for long periods of time before I get distracted and draw.
Like, I have my Pokemon game up next to Wattpad since that's what it's based off but then I get distracted.. I need my art programs because I need to draw to survive..
yeah, i get the feeling. i'm SUPER distraction-prone, like i'll message someone telling them i'll read their thing and then end up on tumblr or chickensmoothie or toyhouse or artfight or............ yeah. same.
but at least if you're drawing you're still doing something that's creative! and you shouldn't try to force yourself to write, either. if it's motivation you're lacking (like the kind of motivation that makes you want to get up early / stay up late just to write), maybe you do just need a break, and that's perfectly okay. it happens to everyone, tbh.
