So basically, Lets say someone had a username such as "Randomguy231" and got a lot of attention, but then, he changed his name to something like "Aero" Or anything else, The name Doesn't relate to the old name, right?, and he doesn't state that he changed his name at all, so people start removing him from their friendlist because they're confused about who he is, i know the old link still works, but most people don't take the time to Use it, So lets say, he lost about 50 friends, and got reported by 10 people that thought he hacked into their friendlist or for any other reason related to the name, so what i am basically Suggesting is: Add something to userprofiles that changed their names, something under the name, that says "Old Usernames" And if you hover on it, it shows the old usernames, so people don't get confused, even though the story in the suggestion may never happen, it will still prevent confusion, and i am sorry if someone suggested this before, i just didn't find anything related.

First:
-If 50 people remove you for changing your name without trying to figure out who you are, that's their problem
-I highly doubt that 10 people would report someone without first tying to figure out who they were, and even in that case, you wouldn't get in trouble because the mods are better at their jobs than that (they'd probably message the reporter with "Hey you reported ___ for hacking into your friendlist, and I've noticed that they changed their username from ___ recently, are you sure you didn't add them?")
-What if someone is changing their username to avoid old drama or something?
-If you're really concerned you can add the old user who "disappeared"'s username to the url on a profile page, and it will work for three months.
same thing with
[user]Username[/user]
still working in forums for those three months

It really isn't hard to figure out who someone is, if you dig around enough, so having a list isn't needed.
Besides, I know people who change their username a lot, so even if it is something you can hover over to see the list, over time I think it would become too big of a list, even for a hover pop up.

Besides, one can always mention their old usernames in their "About Me" section on their profile if they want others to be aware of the change without making a feed.

however, that's why PH has measures in place. there's a limit on how often you can change your username; the old link stays active for quite a gracious while; and you can always check your palpad or messages or whatever if you've talked to them at all. personally, I don't think a new feature is strictly necessary for this.
