He quickly escaped the apprentices den and smelled the air. The scents of his clanmates were fading, but there was one more scent remaining. Horizonfeather!
THe grey apprentice quickly went into the nursery and woke the queen up. »Horizonfeather, quick! We have to leave, the clan is gone and the camp is flooding!«
The black queen slowly got up. »But Owlpaw, I- I can't make it!« she exclaimed, looking at her belly. She would be giving birth soon.
Owlpaw didn't think for long. He went to the side of the queen and helped her padding through the water. The two cats eventually reached the entrance of the camp.
In this moment, a strong wave of water flooded through the camp. Owlpaw quickly pushed himself against Horizonfeather, which caused the queen to stumble through the entrance and saved her from the wave. Owlpaw himself was carried away by the water, yelling a last »Follow the clan!« before going out of Horizonfeathers sight.
Horizonfeather was shocked, but she knew she had no time to think about this now. She had to get herself and her unborn kits into safety.
She padded through the water and tried following the scents of her clanmates. »Shellspeckle!«, she called out her mates name, in the hopes of him hearing her. »Shellspeckle!«
Tigerpaw looked up as she heard Horizonfeather. Running over to the queen, she looked around "are you alright!? Where's Owlpaw" she meowed instantly feeling guilty that she didn't check the apprentice den, or the nursery before leaving.
But when Tigerpaw asked where Owlpaw was, her heart skipped a beat. She looked at her own paws. The water formed small drops at the end of her fur before it dropped down, and with every drop she felt like the water drops were actually pieces of her heart. »I don't know«, she said with a hint of sadness in her voice. I hope he is alright., she thought to herself.
"No you won't! It's to dangerous to go back. We'll have to ask Flamestar to lead a patrol in the morning. Hopefully by then the water will be gone" he meowed sharply, and glanced at the apprentice. Tigerpaw just looked at her paws sharply when Lightningclaw set her down. She then worked her claws into the mud in annoyance.
"If he's dead it's my fault...I should have woken him up..." She meowed sadly, and looked back toward camp.

She stopped for a moment and looked around. »Where's Shellspeckle?«, she asked worried as she didn't spot her mate between the rest of the clan.

She closed her eyes for a short moment. Mistake, she thought instantly and felt pain rushing through her chest with the same strength as the water that ripped Owlpaw back into the flooded camp, and the scene of him being pushed underwater by another wave flashed up in her mind. He looked terrified, his mouth wide open as if he was going to scream before the wave buried him and he went out of Horizonfeathers sight.
The black she-cat opened her eyes with a fearful expression and stared at her paws. He's fine, she thought and started repeating this thought in an attempt to calm herself down. There's no way that he's dead.
(Owlpaw had a crush on Ivypaw and now she will never know and god I just made myself so sad)

Ivypaw blinked worriedly, but didn't say anything. She looked behind her towards the cave.

"I should have made sure the clan was safe though" Tigerpaw mewled lowly, and padded away distractedly she began to place the moss in the scoops of rock on the hard stone ground.
