It's confusing, and frustrating, to search through the trades and wait, only to find that the person who put up the trade had their account locked permanently.

My suggestion is that any permanently locked accounts should have their trades pulled from the GTS to avoid confusion. I know I'm not the only one who's gotten frustrated when I find a trade I want has been posted by a permanently locked account.

I love this idea! I'm not sure if it would be easy or difficult to pull off, but it'd be great if it could happen.

yes this seems reasonable, i support this. if an account is locked then why would it keep its trades open? maybe there could be a time limit on trades like in the auction house, this way anyone who is locked out wont be blocking up the trade market because after so long their trade will expire.

There is a time limit on trades in the GTS.

I believe it is two months.

If you can read this, you know how to read.

i was thinking something shorter, maybe 24 hours tops, anyone who is trading on the global trade market will be either someone who wants to keep their pokemon top of the list so will pull their pokemon and re-put on after it gets pushed down so far, or someone who puts it up and just waits out the time limit.

if the time limit were shorter it would reduce the size of the pool, and this would be a good thing because then all trades that are up will always be current and you dont have to worry about hitting an inactive,

this would also push players to send a pm to trade, then if the next day they get an answer the trade can be put back up and accepted instantly, and if no reply then they can move on, which would save them time.

A 24-hour time limit is too short in my opinion.

I run a breeding shop, and having to put up the trades again and again, because it happened to take longer than 24 hours (which does happen quite often), would become very frustrating...

And what would happen when you buy something in an item shop, and both parties agreed, but suddenly something comes up and you won't be able to offer on it immediately, meaning the trade will be removed, before you've even had the chance to offer it.

Or, what if they offered within the 24-limit, but the other party isn't on when they offered, and didn't come online until the 24-hour limit expired?

There are a lot of reasons users won't/can't offer (or accept the offer) within 24 hours.

Maybe the 2-month limit is too long, but a 24-hour limit is definitely too short in my opinion.

i agree that a week would be better than 2 months, and it would lower the rate of inactive trades, but it wouldnt completely solve the problem since it would still take a week to cycle out the stale trades, and a week is a long time, maybe 2 or 3 days would be a suitable compromise, this would give 1 day to put the trade up and then 2 days to respond to any offers.

@keife191
I'm going to speak up now, because I don't want that to be implented.
And I'm not just talking about myself, maybe there are other whom agree with me too.
I usually search up pokemons for my dex entry, and I usually found the pokemon being on the GTS for 5 days or the so, I would PalPad or PM the one who set the trade to notify about it and say that I'm going to offer/ask if the trade is still valid/ask what they want for it. 2-3 days is too short in my opinion. A week is the least one could have.

I think 48 hours GTS time limit would be better. Right now there is someone who quit the site and their trades are still up and they been gone for over a month now. It makes it very frustrating for people who find that pokemon they been looking for on the GTS only to find out the user has quit, got their account permanently locked etc.

I also think that a week would be the right amount of time, but if someone posts a trade then gets their account locked their trade items should automatically get sent to the auction house.

A new, shorter limit on the expiration of trades? Sure, I can understand why you'd want that even posted about it already :p .
But we are not going to sell pokémon/items, just because the account got locked. It is not our decision as to what happens with those pokémon/items, so they stay exactly where they are (on the locked account). Being in the GTS when they were locked, doesn't change that.

Full support! I found a trade I waited a whole week for to never get an accept/decline. Turns out the user was perma banned.

I was looking for trades and I found a pokemon I liked. When I offered my pokemon and looked in the DM, the user last logged in 5 years ago. Its better to revoke trades of users who haven't logged in for over a month

Locked accounts which are not being activated or being attempted to login should be deleted after a certain period or atleast notify the email id about it being deleted so that person who did create will be more engaging.

Alright so first, I totally agree permabanned accounts should have their trades automatically taken down. But I think we should listen to @kriyen's idea too.
There's probably thousands of abandoned accounts taking up usernames and other stuff, at least we could eliminate the accounts of users who are permabanned. Or at the very least change their usernames to something like Banned#000 so it doesn't mess with the Pokemon's OT trainer.

Ok finally, a 24 hour limit is way too short, a week is also too short. I think we should settle ot at one month. That's probably as long as anyone would wait on a trade shop anyway.
