Nighttail was calm. "The kits are moving around a lot and they must really want outside. But other than that I'm fine. It's a shame they'll never meet their father though," she mewed.

Lunarblaze was padding around impatiently, waiting for his apprentice to come.

There's nothing more beautiful than the rain.

Flintpelt flicked her tail as she stepped out of the den. She quickly made her way to the side of the den and stretched. "Sometimes I wish I could sleep all day." She mumbled.

'Songbird!' She cried, 'You almost missed the morning patrol! C'mon I'm gonna show you I can really hunt!'

Dustpaw straightened his head at Stormpaw's response and unwrapped his tail from his ankle to flick it in thought. H-he wants to go with me... at the same time... W-wait, don't get too far ahead of yourself, it's not just so he can be with you, it's for the clan... B-besides it seems improbable that he would want to anyway... the feline thought before quietly accepting the proposal made by Stormpaw with a faint smile.

When Dustpaw noticed the feline standing before the two, he lowered his head out of shyness and took a step back. "G-Good morning, Echopaw..." he mewed as he accidentally glided his tail softly on the right side of Stormpaw's body.

Horizonstar nodded in response to Songbird. "Yes, you can accompany your apprentice. Also, Rainpaw will need help in carrying some herbs back. Our supply seems to be low at the moment."
The male watched the other warriors as they left to find their apprentices to leave.

Billowflame watched the three-legged apprentice bound over to her and she dipped her head silently. She was mostly respectful to the medicine cats, especially those who were not allowed to become normal apprentices or warriors due to their injuries. She was a pretty understanding she-cat.
"I need to fetch Dustpaw, though. Would you like to come with me?" she asked gently, flicking her tail in the direction of the apprentice den, which she was pretty close to at this moment.

Stormpaw saw his mentor padding towards him and he almost bounced up in excitement. "I'm ready!" he mewed. The young male glanced behind Lunarblaze who was in front of him. "Hey, Dustpaw, Billowflame seems to be coming this way, too. I think we are going together! I bet I can catch more prey than you," Stormpaw challenged his friend.

Lunarblaze purred in amusement. He was just like Stormpaw when he was an apprentice. He was excited to go on the patrol and padded over to the other cats on patrol.

Echopaw's tail wrapped loosely around her fore wrists. "Goodbye, Dustpaw," she meowed calmly. Echopaw sighed. Stuck in the camp with no other apprentices. Like the usual, She thought grimly, laying on the ground stomach flat, her tail gliding casually in the air.

Flintpelt got up and shook out her fur. She looked towards the apprentice den. I wonder if I will ever have my own apprentice? She wondered. She purred at the thought.

'Come on! Come on! I wanna catch a bird this time!' Snowpaw yelled with excitement as she ran to the entrance of the den. (what do you call out 'hideout'? A den?)
As she began running faster she bumped into a ball of black fur just outside the warrior's den.
'O-o-oh I'm s-sorry.' The little kitten stuttered as she realized it was Flintpelt, one of the clan's greatest warriors.
if you don't consider her a great warrior just tell me ^^U I coudlnt think how else to describe her heh

Rainpaw followed Billowflame eagerly. Today he'd be like the other apprentices, going out and hunting! Well, not hunting in his case, but, he would be out...with a hunting party.

Quietly, he watched Stormpaw challenging Dustpaw. Inwardly, he was temporarily depressed. He'd never caught a single mouse, let alone multiple prey items. Oh well, the other apprentices didn't know any of the herbs he was getting, or why one herb was for the expectant queens, while another was in case the newborn kits got sick. They didn't know which herbs made queens produce more milk, or which stopped them from producing milk.

And they didn't get to wake up to the smells of Emberstream's cave.


Emberstream looked at Nighttail carefully. With the amount of movement described... "You'll most definitely have these kits within the week. In fact...I'd be surprised if you don't go into labor tomorrow. You are definitely ready."

(I don't think they've left yet...)

Dustpaw was shocked at the sudden challenge. "I-I hope you know that I w-won't lose! I'm almost entirely s-sure that I'm better than y-you at this!" he taunted nervously with a faint smile.

He noticed his mentor, Billowflame, approached and he flicked his tail in excitement before beginning to walk over to her. He stopped quickly and turned around after hearing Echopaw bid him farewell. "Oh, b-bye!" he mewed. He noticed Rainpaw following Billowflame and his smile disappeared, quickly becoming silent as Rainpaw approached. "H-hi..." he mumbled.

Rainpaw paused nervously. He knew Dustpaw was nice....but in his nightmare Dustpaw had been one of his tormentors. And he still wasn't sure...what if his dreams DID tell the future? Sure, Emberstream said they didn't, but....fear was like that.

Rainpaw decided to adopt a facade of pride. "Hello other apprentices" he said, holding his tail up the way his mentor did. "I'm coming with today for important medicine cat reasons. Very important"

Flintpelt stumbled a bit and looked down at the kit. She decided to mess around a bit. She flopped onto her belly. "Oh great Starclan! The mighty Snowpaw has blessed me with her pressence. I am truly unworthy." She tried not to laugh.

After Horizonstar was assured that the rest of the warriors and their apprentices were ready to get going, he glanced around in search of his apprentice. Today would be a good day to bring her out and get some battle training in. Though, he would have to wait until the hunting patrol returned, so that Songbird could watch over the clan while he was gone.
He spotted the young ginger-and-white she-cat laying down near the entrance of the apprentice den. The male leader got to his paws and began padding over. Once he was close enough, he sat back down and curled his black tail over his paws. "Echopaw, how does battle training sound today? It's been a little while since I've taken you out of camp myself for this." His hazel gaze was calm as he looked down at the she-cat.

Billowflame glanced around. Rainpaw, Lunarblaze, Stormpaw, Dustpaw.. Songbird is further ahead and Snowpaw? the she-cat thought to herself. "If everyone is ready, we can catch up a bit to Songbird and then we can head out."
Making sure that Rainpaw was close beside her, she began to pad off over to where she saw Songbird last, talking to Horizonstar. She had heard the other apprentice telling Dustpaw that he could catch more prey than the other apprentice and the thought made her smile. That's what's good with teaching a younger one. They just have so much confidence in themselves and most of the time it's for a good purpose for the clan.
She approached Songbird, who seemed absent of her apprentice. "Is Snowpaw ready?" she asked the deputy.

Stormpaw snickered at Dustpaw's attempt at accepting the challenge. He would show the other apprentice what he could do, but he knew he'd have a lot of fun trying. The thing is, the only prey he's caught in the past was small mice and voles. But today, he wanted to try something new like a rabbit or bird. He knew birds were a good challenge as they could fly. Either way, he was up for a challenge and he hoped he would succeed.
The young apprentice followed behind Billowflame and the others as the group began to head out.

Echopaw looked up, her luminous amber eyes alert for a moment. The hostility in her eyes ebbed away as she realized it was just Horizonstar. "Sounds fine by me," she meowed, almost softer than usual.
