What's your favourite OST?
Forum-Index → General Discussion → What's your favourite OST?So that's it, I want to know your favourite OSTs! because I'm so curious :p I will accept games, series and anime OSTs, but I'm more curious about games particularly.
Just to share, some of mines are;
Pokemon - PMD Sky mainly, and some themes from Pokemon B/R/Y
The Legend of Zelda - Random ones, but specially Midna's Lament
Trauma Center saga - I love some songs from TC: Under the Knife 2 and the main and forensics themes of Trauma Team
Professor Layton - Such an epic OST, I love all the main themes and some other themes. My favourite main one is Unwound Future one.
Okami - Another epic OST, I love about 90% of the songs ;u; My favourites are Neckhu and Lechku fighting theme, "reset (thank you)" theme, Shiranui theme and "the sun rises".
About anime I'd just keep Shirokuma Cafe first opening, Magi the Labyrinth openings, some common ones like FullMetal Alchemist, D. Gray Man, Madoka...and Bobobo openings for sure :p
Now let's share!
For games:
Trauma Center, Okami/Okami-den & Professor Layton - Same as you, surprisingly! I listen to the puzzle-solving themes when I'm studying. ^^
Shining Force - I like all of them, but Elven Town from SF II is just so awesome.
Assassin's Creed - All the games have nice soundtracks, but AC III most of all. Aphelion is really epic!
Dischan's Juniper's Knot - The piano OSTs for this were so good I'm making arrangements of them, but I didn't enjoy the game itself.
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective - All of them, and the main theme for sure! This is also my second-favorite favorite Nintendo platformer game to date.
RuneScape - While the "old" soundtracks are still fun, many of them have been remastered using a live orchestra, which makes them a little more interesting.
Aquaria - One of my favorite indie games. The ending theme stayed stuck in my head for the longest time, ahaha.
As for anime, I'd say the main themes of Detective Conan, Kaitou Kid and Black Jack.... psh short anime list is short.

Kaitou Kid: Main Theme
I know about Assassin's Creed, but not the others you mentioned, I should take a look owo I really need to listen to new songs or OSTs x3
Detective Conan and Kaitou Kid <3 DC's first opening theme is so nostalgic for me, from when I was about 8 years old >w<
I don't know about the other two though .w.; should take a look too hehe
Let's see...
- Fire Emblem Awakening: "Conquest (Ablaze)" and pretty much any of the "Id" songs are great (especially Return and Purpose, yep!). A lot of the event music in FE:A's soundtracks tend to have quotes from the game as tracks, which is weird, but they're nice too. "Shh... Easy now, girl. I won't hurt you", "Don't speak her name!", and "It's Right After This Mountain" all have really long names, but they're pretty calming to listen to, maybe even good study music?
- Xenoblade: "Gaur Plains (Day)", "Satorl Marsh (Night)" "Frontier Village", "Mechonis Field" are all great since they're more... ambient for being environmental music? For battle music, there's "Unfinished Battle", "Mechanical Rhythm", and "They Will Know Our Names".
- Guilty Gear/BlazBlue - Since these two are fighting games from the same company, they've a lot of energetic themes. Guilty Gear itself has a lot of references to rock bands (if I remember correctly?), so there's lots of guitar used in most of the themes.
- Then there's the Shin Megami Tensei series. Depending on what's more your cup of tea, there's a lot of really rockish tracks in Devil Survivor-there's "Deep Night" or "Shudder" from the second game. Shin Megami Tensei IV's got some sweet battle tracks, too, like "Tokyo Battle" or "Mikado Battle" (which some people are saying are the reverse of each other?). Persona 3 and 4's tracks tend to have lyrics, like "Time" from P3P, or "Your Affection" in P4.
And Catherine's not really related to SMT, but the composer's done some remixes of classical pieces for that game.
As for non-game OSTs, Attack on Titan is agonizingly beautiful. "EMA" and "The Reluctant Heroes" are some really great ones if you wanna get pumped for something. I also remember liking some of the tracks from Tiger and Bunny's OST, "Power to the Future" being one example.
Also I'm not sure if the Kagerou Project songs count (there's going to be an anime in April 2014?), but I've been listening to a bunch of the songs on repeat for the past few days, and I find them really catchy. Some Niconico singers do covers of the songs too.
...I've a few more to list, but I don't want this to end up becoming essay-length, eheh.
I've always enjoyed the star trek-deep space nine opening tune.
When it comes to movies it's the intro of National Treasure and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Edit (xD): I usually check my forum subscription page because sometimes I miss the notifications. I need to remember to use the filters!
I'm going to edit my first post, because I forgot to add some important stuff~
How on earth I forgot to include a game I've been playing for six years completely escapes me, ahahaha. I'll also make a little spoiler box with a list of the track names just for convenience. ^^
On a similar note, I am now going to research all the OSTs mentioned that I haven't heard yet. Here I go~
Also the console Pokemon games! Colosseum and XD had such great tunes that even after long, tiring battles or even just ones I put down and forgot about I still sing along or hum them when going about my business.
However my absolute favorites now and forever are the ones from No More Heroes and its sequel Desperate Struggle. The first game's soundtrack was entirely the work of Masafumi Takada (who also worked on the soundtrack for Dangan Ronpa, another one with some incredible tracks) while NMH:DS featured a mash of various artists. The style differences between the two games are immense--the second having more of a rock theme to the soundtrack overall--but they're both amazing.
As for shows, the only one I think I even *have* is for Panty and Stocking (not a kid-friendly anime, in case anyone's unfamiliar). I'd rank it up there as a favorite anyway.
Ziocorvid; I know about Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, AoT and Tiger and Bunny's, but not about the others oAo I feel like I've read something about Kagerou on deviantart perhaps, since you can find almost anything and everything there x3 And well I already think your post looks like an essay haha, thanks for sharing so much stuff :3
Calle, I know about Vampire Knight due to a couple of friends who like it, same for Star Trek. I love Pirates of the Caribbean main theme (I mean, the famous one), I even have it on my MP4 :3

Of course Pokemon stuff is great and so are Kirby soundtracks-especially from Triple Deluxe. The Psychonauts soundtrack isn’t anything I listen to casually but it has the perfect whimsical yet dark feel for the game. Really suits it.
Also Don’t Starve has very little music but what is there is killer. I like the track that plays when you’re playing as Woodie and he’s turned into the Werebeaver in the single player version. Dunno what it’s called off the top of my head.
Oh and I adore Splatoon 2 stuff. Off The Hook and Ink Theory songs in particular.
Edit: How could I forgot the Parappa games? Especially the additional Um Jammer Lammy promo album ‘Make It Sweet’. The album version of Fright Flight is genuinely so good,,
One, two, three, four! Motion on the ocean floor!

When it comes to levels for that game it's mainly just the original version of Digital circuit.
And when it comes to audio played in the beginning or end of the game I really like "Never Turn back" By Crush 40 and "I am... all of me" also by Crush 40 cause their versions are the best. B)
I pretty much like all the OST's from Sonic Heroes. "This machine" created by Julien-K being my favorite though.
Crisis City, All hail shadow, and Dreams of an Absolution are my favorite in sonic the hedgehog(2006).
All of the JJBA openings cause they are bomb👌🏾👌🏾
The Soundtracks played whenever a digimon digivolves in Tamer, Savers/data squad, and all the adventure anime(there are a lot of em).
