this is my best suggestion yet, there should be a button telling you how many people viewed a thread, also maybe who viewed it and who's viewing it right now

I don't think this would be particularly helpful since we already have a counter that says how many people have clicked the thread. I think that's pretty similar to viewing a thread, since your have to click it to view it right?

Also, I don't see how being able to see who's viewing a thread currently would be any help. Please elaborate a little :)

I think it would help people know if people may be interested in a trade topic and it could see like a good place to look because so many people have viewed it and it may be popular,or to pm someone seeing the thread

its saying 2 people think this would mae the game to easy, hows that

This has honestly no point to it. We don't need a button to see who is viewing the thread and who has viewed the thread. It shouldn't matter on who views it or not, we have the click counter to show how many people roughly have viewed your thread. Please try to suggest things that would actually be useful.

What's the point of being able to see who is currently viewing a thread? Like Yuucchii said, it already shows how many people have clicked on the thread, thus viewed it.

Just because someone is currently viewing something, doesn't mean that they are completely interested in it. Most people just give it a quick look and move on if they don't find something they want. If they were interested, they would post on the thread.

Well, in correspondence to your second post I don't think there's a strong correlation between clicks(thus views) and popularity. That's because it's probably how long a topic has been around that makes it popular and that many people post and view it. For example, I'll use my art thread it's been around for a bit so it has around 150 posts I only update it when I have new things to post in it and I don't really mind that others don't comment on it (mostly because I prefer to talk over pal pad about commissions). Even though the topic has many clicks it doesn't mean I get 150 orders of art. \r\n\r\nThat's similar to the trade topics people will view a topic to see what's in it, but won't post unless they're interested.\r\n\r\nAlso I don't see the point of PMing someone who's viewing it, most likely if they want something they'll post about it :)

Well, you can already do this by checking on the index not the thread its self.
But the idea seems cool, but it isn't really necessary.
