"I'll let someone who knows it better do that, besides Starlight
has to approve first." Then Lyra brought him to the place where
their leader was. "Starlight, excuse me but we have a some-cat who
wants to join." She looked at the white tabby in awe, no wonder she
was the leader, she looked so elegant. "I leave the rest to you,
and I'll go try and get someone to show you around." Then she
trotted off in the search for Conan, she saw him and trotted over.
"Hey Conan there's someone who wants to join and I was wondering if
he gets accepted you could show him around" She sat there waiting
for him to answer.
Silver lit up at the invitation. "Me and Alex were discussing going
to the town for lunch! I was going to ask you! Of course I'm coming
YES!" She began walking toward the stone gate of the Guild. "Let's
go, then, right?" Her little wings were fluttering excitedly as she
thought of the foods at the town. She also wanted to find out how
the cats there were doing during the current dragon situation.
She'd seen how tired Kyle and Angel had been, despite evolving so
recently. She remembered the new recruits and Miko had gone with
them, so she reminded herself to make sure they were okay, starting
with Alex, obviously, since there was this perfect opportunity.
Skye looked around somewhat nervously and went to find someone who
would let her join the guild. She saw plenty of other cats
around.
Amberstorm looked around and saw some cats talking to each other.
She didn't want to interrupt them but she also wanted to ask them
if she could join. She ended up standing still, feeling kinda
awkward around the cats she didn't know.
Conan wandered the Guild. Francis, Catniss, and Starlight had yet
to awaken, so he was the 'learer' at the moment. The tabby heroic
cat spied newcomers in the base, and trotted over to them. "Hello?
Are you in need of something?" He tilted his head at them.
Shadow looked up at Conan in awe. “So this is the recruiter”, he
thought. “Hopefully he’ll let me join the guild.”
“Can I join the guild?“ Shadow asked. “I’m a great tracker, and
I’ve brought a green ember as a gift.“ Let me show you my
skills.
Although he was showing a calm front, inside Shadow was scared.
“What is I fail?” he thought. But he knew that he couldn’t show his
doubts, and let them overtake him.
Conan turned his gaze from Skye and Amberstorm to look at Shadow.
"And who are you?" His voice was kind, but serious. He couldn't
just keep letting strangers in.
“Hi, I’m Shadow”, he said. I’m a scout, as I train to become more
sneaky and observant. I’ve always wanted to join the Guild, and
have been training for weeks! Do you want a demonstration?
Once again, his heart was pounding. He was sure that Conan could
hear it beating over, and over. He tried to stay calm and relaxed,
but he just couldn’t relax his tense muscles. After all, he had
been training vigorously for this.
Conan smiled. "Another sneaky one. You and Miko may get along.
There's no registration required, Starlight will judge you and
dismiss you as necessary. Go to the fortress, find the silver tabby
in the stary outfit. Talk to her, she'll accept you and judge you
the next good while."
The tabby turned back to the other cats he was addressing. "You
are?" He wanted to know their names before sending them after
Shadow. He should have expected the recruits to come pouring in, at
the news of dragons attacking Catnia
Shadow wandered around the fortress, and it wasn’t long before he
was hopelessly lost. Trying to save face, he walked around until he
bumped into the tight knit group he saw earlier. He listened in to
the conversation, and noticed that the cat in the center was named
Miko. Conan thought they would become close friends right? It
wouldn't hurt to try.
Shadow asked in what he hoped was a confident voice. “Hey, I’m new
here. Do you know where Starlight is? Conan told me to find her. ”
Of course, the ninja cats had noticed the black cat trying to
listen in and had turned to him, going silent. Miko stepped forward
from the group and pointed with her tail at the Silver Tabby
getting ready to leave the fortress. "That's Starlight. Now go run
to her and stay out of our business!" The black and purple
demon/angel snapped. She was looking for Oakenpaw, but he was no
where to be found, and she wanted to talk to him before questing
with Molotov.
Lyra was walking around the guild, trying to think of some thing to
do. She either wanted to go into town and upgrade her bow and have
lunch, or make some potions and go on a quest. Soon she decided to
go to town and see what she could do, besides she hadn't been there
yet. She went through he stone entrance, and headed towards the
town to see what she could do.
“Ummm, Ok”, Shadow said. He thought Conan sad that he and Miko
would get along well. Never mind. He trotted to the direction that
Miko pointed, turning the words over in his head.
All those thoughts disappeared when he saw Starlight. “Wow! So this
is the guild leader” he thought. Seeing her waiting impatiently for
him to say something, Shadow said “Hi, I’m Shadow. I train daily to
become a better scout, and I’m here to join the guild.”
Starlight glanced at him. "I should hope this is true. Hello,
Shadow. I will watch you carefully." She had seen the exchange
between Miko and Shadow with her ninja friends, deciding to add.
"That lot is very secretive, don't try to intrude on their stuff if
you want to be on good terms with them."
Alex walked towards the town. Alex recognised the roads he used to
live by. He was surrounded by memories. That was the corner a bully
had scared his ear as a kitten, and that was the rich house he
stole extra food from (the owners were super entitled, and besides,
there was no way they could eat that much).
Looking back at his old home made him realise how far he had come.
He made it off the streets, worked up the courage to join a guild
and went on a quest in just a day. That was so much accomplished
already.
Silver had brought a pack of gold and was walking next to Luna
Sparkle, the towns folk were used to the occasional glittering of
the cosmic cat's fur. She glanced at Purrcilla, apparently she was
choosing the location. She hoped it was good, she could go for some
tuna right now. Walking past a newspaper, she read the headline
'Dragon attacks?? How Safe are we??'. Silver shuttered, thinking of
the dragons coming to the town. The occasional wolf attacks were
bad enough, she didn't want to think about dragons.
When Lyra got to the town, she imediately went to the Blacksmith to
see if he could upgrade her bow. "It'll be 75 coins do ya got
that?" Asked the Blacksmith. "Sure, here you go." Lyra had 200
coins in her wallet so that she could get a few things."It'll be
done in 1 hour" In that time Lyra decided to explore the town and
do a few things. First she decided to look at some of the trinkets
the town had. Then she went to the potion shop and bought a few for
about 50 coins. Finally she decided to go eat some lunch, she
bought a sandwich for about 25 coins. Then she just sat in the
shade on this beautiful day.
Purrcilla was coming into town with her friends and Alex. They were
getting lunch, but they had to think about what they wanted to eat.
It was a tough decision, she either wanted the towns famous pasta
or some of it's delicious bread, or may be some tuna. She couldn't
make up her mind.
Alex eyed the newspaper as well. There had to be a lot of dragons,
they defeated 8 or so in the cave, and there were still tons more!
Why were the dragons attacking? Revenge? Payback? Greed? Maybe they
were defending something, or maybe they wanted something from the
cats?
Alex put the unpleasant thoughts at the back of his head. He would
wonder about dragons later. Now it was time for lunch... Nearing a
street corner, Alex realised there was something he had wanted to
do. He glanced at his gold, and after checking that he had more
than enough to pay for lunch, he asked the group "Can we make a
quick stop? I won't be long." He eyed a fish vendor selling on the
street corner.
