It wasn't hard to find the dragons. Alex could see them at a
makeshift dragon base, even far down the beach. He nodded, not
needing to say anything. It was clear that the whole trio could see
the dragons.
Silver shook her head. "No brainer. Chill, we'll get to it." She
began cautiously approaching the dragons, and whipped out her sword
and slashed with a fiery blade down on the reptilian beasts. The
outrage rippled through the dragons and they all started to attack.
Alex thought he would try the tactic he used last time. He leaped
on a dragon's back, and slipped his claws between the scales, and
for some extra damage, shot a volt of electricity through the gap,
making it touch the weak dragon skin under the scales the dragon
roared, and Alex quickly leaped on it's head and attacked it's
eyes, effectively blinding it, so it was unable to fly. The other 7
dragons or so began attacking, and Alex leaped out of the way to
dodge some dragon talons.
Shadow drew back, surprised. “Wow, I shouldn’t have doubted your
abilities, that is one cool sword and one GREAT distraction.” He
then proceeded to take the long way around the dragons, ready to
provide support whenever needed.
Alex noticed Shadow slipping away, and instantly jumped to
conclusions (a downfall of his impulsiveness.). The cat was hiding
away! What the heck? He wanted to do this quest. Either he was
scared of the dragons or wanted them to attack Alex and Silver.
Worst case scenario, it was both. Alex was enraged.
He put his fury into his attacks. A dragon picked him up in its
claws, but Alex fiercely burned the dragon, making it roar. Alex
didn't care that the others might see his elemental abilities and
he would lose his underestimation.
Silver was more of a long ranged attacker, as getting hurt only
hindered her abilities. She put up her sword and shot a
flamethrower at her dragon before slashing at it with stinging
ferocity. This dragon would be very scared if it didn't flee soon.
Shadow saw sliver’s dragon hesitating, and took the chance. He
leaped up on the dragon, and clawed both of it’s eyes, leaving the
dragon blind. He melted back into the shadows and let silver finish
off the dragon. She did most of the work, so it was her kill,
essentially.
Soon after, he saw a burst of flame erupt from Alex’s dragon. Could
Alex use fire? Never mind, it probably was an illusion from looking
into silvers flame too long
There were 5 dragons left, one had been taken care of by silver,
one by alex, one had flied away. Alex attacked one dragon's eyes,
making it hard for them to see. He quickly jumped onto the snout of
another dragon, his street dexterity coming into good use. "Come
and get me!" Alex yelled angrily at the dragon who's eyes he had
attacked. It shrieked, and flied at the neck of the other dragon,
which Alex promply hopped off of, landing safely on the ground. The
dragons collided and landed in the sea near the beach.
While Alex was fighting two dragons, he didn’t see a third sneaking
up on him. “I’m not gonna let another cat die on my watch”, Shadow
thought furiously. He sprang from behind, yelling “watch out!” And
clawed the dragon, who was about to take a bite out of Alex.
Luckily, the dragon was distracted because of all of the frantic
clawing, and stopped in mid motion. Shadow, however, had another
problem. This dragon must have been the most powerful. It’s scales
were very hard, and tightly woven, and it’s eyelids had scales,
which means it could be protected from eye scratching.
Suddenly, Shadow had a plan. “Alex, do your thing!” He yelled as he
tried to scratch the eyes of the dragon, forcing it to close its
eyes. He only hoped that Alex or Silver would be able to use this
opportunity to take the offensive.
The crashed dragons we at best dead and at least unconcious. Alex
gave one of their heads a kick with his hind leg for good measure
and leaped on the one that Shadow had warned him of. He was
thankful for that, but still annoyed. Why hadn;t he helped at the
beggining of the battle?! He tried to pry open the dragon's scales
but they were to thick and metallic... metalic! That was it!
"Shadow, jump off the dragon!" Alex said, still a bit angrily from
the battle and how Shadow had waited to fight.
“Huh?” Shadow asked, and then realized what he was about to do. He
should have came up with that plan himself! Alex was a genius!
He hopped off the dragon, and yelled “go for it!”
As he was jumping off, he realized that Alex’s voice was a bit
angry. “Oh well”, he thought. I hope he’ll get used to my fighting
style.
Alex hoped his electric training would come in handy. Shadow
proabbly didn't know what was coming. As soon as the cat leaped
off, Alex pressed his paws against the dragon's scales and shot as
much electricity as he could onto them. The dragon was already wet
from living in a base near the ocean, so the shock traveled all
over the dragon's body.
It shrieked in pain, and bucked Alex off, sending him flying on to
the beach, the sand scraping his skin through his thin fur.
However, the dragon had collapsed! They'd won!
Shadow saw Alex put his paws to the dragon, and use electricity. “I
guess I was wrong about him using fire”, he thought. “I guess that
really was a mirage.”
He was snapped back to reality when he saw Alex flying off the
dragon. “Alex!” He shouted, and raced off to see if he was
okay.
After arriving at where Alex landed, Shadow inspected him. Just a
few wounds, but the sand made it worse. He asked Alex if he would
be okay with washing his wounds with salt water, as they were near
the ocean.

Alex stood up. He wasn't scraped badly, but he was tured. He hacked
up a mouthful of sand. "I'm fine," he half lied. "And no, not salt
water, that will make it hurt more, and also, you don't know what's
in the ocean."
Alex looked back at the dragons they had defeated. "Hey, what was
up with you going away from the dragons at the begining of the
battle? I mean I appreicate the help, but why?"
Shadow smiled. “I like to scout out the battle before I join in.
You see, I focus on stealth and observance, and I wanted to be
there if you guys needed help. Talking about observant, well I
noticed something while you were fighting the first dragon. Was I
hallucinating, or would you like to share?”
Alex hesitated. "... I'm sorry about assuming you were a coward
bro." Alex mumbled. He found it hard to apologise.
Hearing Shadow question him about his abilities... it meant he
wasn't 100% sure about it yet. Most found it sort of weird, and
Alex would rather not share for now. Luckily for him, he was a
great actor. Alex raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" It was
impossible to tell he was faking, he'd practiced lying practically
his whole life.
Silver let the boys talk a bit. She was an experienced healer, and
wanted to be sure they were alright. "Are you guys badly hurt?" She
put up her sword and shook sand off her paws as she sat with them.
Shadow smiled. “Oh, I’m fine. Alex is a bit cut up though. Could
you teach me how to apply first aid? It would be a cool addition to
my skill set.
Inside, Shadow thought, I’m not entirely certain if Alex is telling
the truth. Shadow had many experiences where he had to ask dragons
questions, and knew when someone was lying. The thing was, why
would Alex hide the power to use fire? In his opinion, thats a
really cool ability.
"Eh, I'm fine...." Alex said, but he winced a little for the
scratches. "Gave myself away there. Ok, go ahead. I'm pretty
interested in learning first aid too." He wasn't lying. First Aid
could be the difference between life and death, as Alex knew.
"My healing method isn't something I can teach, I'm afraid." She
lifted her paw. She was amazing at healing because she had one
teeny tiny advantage, you could call it. Her blood, it could heal
any wound by touching it and could cure any disease if ingested.
She would literally cut herself open if it saved somebodies life.
With a tiny claw, she scratched open her pad. One side effect,
though. When applied, the wound would hurt like mad for a few
seconds before the wound would be perfectly healed. And if
swallowed, it tasted horribly strong and bitter, but healed even
fatal diseases in mere minutes. She rubbed her paw over Alex's
cuts, causing a painful sensation.
