Yes, that's possible. I've adopted many a scanned egg from my DayCare, none of which were identified as "shiny" or "mega able", yet some still hatched with a mega bubble and one hatched shiny.

Whether a pokémon is shiny and/or mega able is decided when it hatches and depends on the characteristics of the account that hatches it. The chances will be influenced by whether or not the user is premium and/or has an active radar.

You could hatch them all and not get a single shiny or mega able; you could release those same eggs and someone else who's hunting Swablu, might get a shiny from them.
If someone hatches a shiny from your egg, you didn't release a shiny egg; you released a normal egg, that hatched shiny on that particular account, influenced by the specific data related to that account.

I don't quite get what you mean..
The wide lens only tell you what Pokemon will be in an egg, so things like gender won't be shown, whether it's mega powered or not, and whether it's a shiny or not - that also won't be shown.
There's a possibility for all eggs to hatch a shiny, but whether it hatches a shiny or not is only determined when it's already adopted.

Edit: Late.

I think you're complicating it for yourself :b
There's no 'chance' of you releasing eggs in the daycare that could be a shiny, since whether a Pokemon is shiny or not is only determined when you adopt the egg, and is in your party already. (And the chance is most definitely not 50/50 :b or else everyone would have had shinies, and shiny megas, etc. The chance of hatching a mega powered Pokemon is seen as 'random' by people, and the chance of hatching a shiny is stated on your Pokeradar page. You reach max chance when you hit chain #40. Things like the shiny charm and premium increase this chance)

And yes, Cottonblu's and Swablu's are considered different 'species', and will break chains

It's just easier to start with one species first, then focus on another. If you have a couple of egg storages (at least 6 I'd say), you can start hunting Swablu first, and then put all the Cottonblu eggs in the egg storage, until you're done with the Swablu hunt and want to start Cottonblu afterwards.

Might be a silly question but do you get to own 3 seedmakers and use them all - or just one so you need to choose the one that suits you and upgrade it?

You can buy all 3 ^^ It's your choice :) All can be upgraded as well. However, the faster the seedmaker, the more it costs.

Thanks so much for the info :)

Just wanted to check before I upgrade the first one, I didn't want to upgrade it only to find it gets deleted and replaced when I buy another one.

Following up on my last question. I feel bad leaving swablu eggs at rhe daycare....soooo if i store all swablu eggs in an egg box after i hatch a shiny cottonblu. Will any of the unhatch swablu eggs end up being a shiny/mega if i hatch them after a shiny cottonblu appears?
And will it be able to be chained since theyll be stored for weeks or months

Unsure of it even make sense xD

As stated before by Toothie, hatching a shiny or mega-able pokèmon depends on chance. The mega-able chance is random and no one really knows the exact amount and the shiny chance is displayed on your radar page. So if you are very lucky, sure, a shiny or mega-able will hatch but the former is unlikely as there's less than %1 chance to hatch it and the former's chance is random pretty much.

Yes, as long as an egg(that can be chained) hatches with your PokèRadar active it will count towards your chain.

Are there certain Key Items that should be prioritized in buying over others? e.g. the Flame Orb and Amulet Coin both seem useful.

@Alien-snowflake - Egg Storage eggs count for your chain and have the same (random) chance as any other DayCare egg. If you don't hatch them, they don't, because it's hatching that breaks the chain, not adopting.

@Catella - Personally, I'd prioritize the Amulet Coin (because that earns itself back eventually) and the Explorer Bag.
The Flame orb is nice for the extra push, and is useful.

Chips are mostly useful if you're Shiny Hunting or looking for genderless pokémon, because you need the EggDex, so you can just breed more, if they have a gender.

Is there a way to keep a Pokemon from evolving without an everstone?

No; pokémon evolve automatically once they reach the correct requirements. If they're not holding an everstone, they're going to evolve.

So I'm doing the giratina quest, and I find that whenever it triggers there are significant amounts of time whre there are jst... no Giratinas on screen, usually when I just need one more to win, and there are mere seconds left. Is this intentional and what do I do about it?

@alanapants
I personally would release pokèmons that would be easy to get back or that I won't miss when I run out of space back when I first join. Such as pichu, cleffa, caterpie, etc. After you can afford a box you can get them back easily.

@Radian
As far as I know it's intentional so unfortunately the rate of the Giratinas appearing lowers as you get closer to the goal. It's quite annoying but you can try the minigame countless times.

How long does it normally take members of staff to get back to you?

I contacted one of the wiki staff about 2 pages that kind of contradicted each other and havn't heard anything. (Explorer bags entry and the explorer bags section under rumbling - one says super secret must not be told, the other page gives all the methods freely. I assume the super secret method is not a secret anymore since I've seen staff post it in these forums)

I would assume common courtesy would let them at least get them to let me know they got my PM and say thanks, or it's fine as it is - so I don't move on to another member of staff with the same thing as I think they didn't get the message.
